Do The Right Thing: Spike Lee Calls For A Boycott Of Gucci & Prada Until Both Brands Hire Black Designers

Source: Ian Gavan / Getty Spike Lee Blasts Gucci & Prada For Not Having Enough Black Designers Spike Lee said he will no longer wear Prada or Gucci until the fashion houses “hire some black designers.” According to USAToday , the Oscar-nominated director announced via Instagram that he wasn’t rocking with Gucci after word of the blackface controversy spread. Prada is still recovering after it was flame broiled for an accessories collection that featured a dark-colored monkey with bright red, oversized lips as a figurine, a racist caricature popularized during the Jim Crow era. Prada issued an apology and eventually pulled the design from all online stores. Earlier this week Gucci wanted to learn the hard way, the Italian fashion label announced it would stop selling a black balaclava sweater that evoked blackface imagery. The piece of clothing featured an oversized collar that could be pulled over the wearer’s mouth; the collar included a mouth slit that was framed with giant red lips. “I, Spike Lee Of Sound Mind And Body Will No Longer Wear Prada Or Gucci Until They Hire Some Black Designers To Be In Da Room When It Happens,” the filmmaker director wrote on Instagram. “It’s Obvious To Da Peoples That They Don’t Have A Clue When It Comes To Racist, Blackface Hateful Imagery. WAKE UP. Ya-Dig?

Dolezal-ing: These White Models Are Being Called Out For Allegedly Trying To Turn Themselves Into Black Women And You’ve GOT To See The Pics

White Models Cosplay As Black Women It started pretty innocently with a video of the above model, Emma Hallberg, going viral online. Everyone who saw the video assumed she was black. Why wouldn’t they? She’s damn near mahogany and speaking in all sorts of code-switched black vernacular. One problem: she’s not even close to black. As more pics and profiles hit the net, it became clear: there’s a whole a$$ epidemic of white women going all out to dress up as black women. And, no, we’re not just talking about Jennerdashians. These women do the hair, the makeup, the eyes and darken their skin. It’s a whole black woman aesthetic. These women are getting dragged for it, too. What do you think? Is this blackface? “Blackfishing” as the internet calls it? Or are they just following trends? Take a look…

Do Remember: Nell Carter Explains Why Using Blackface Is Dead Azz Wrong…In 1984

Image via NBCU Photo Bank/Getty Nell Carter Explains Why Blackface Is Offensive On ‘Gimme A Break’ Earlier today Megyn Kelly took to live, nationally syndicated television to pontificate about whether or not white people wearing Blackface is ok. In Megyn’s opinion, it is not. She is wrong. She will get ran down on for trying it. She better know that. It’s f***in’ ridiculous that in 2018 there are STILL salty soup cookies who try Blackface each and every Halloween. Blackface didn’t JUST become wrong in today’s climate of political correctness. It was wrong as hell 34 years ago when people were even LESS conscious of offending others. For reference, peep this clip of Nell Carter breaking down Blackface on a 1984 episode of Gimme A Break . Hey, Megyn, STFU and eat your mayo.

Ho Sit Down: Megyn Kelly Doesn’t Get Why Wearing Blackface Is Like Offensive And Stuff [Video]

Image via Nathan Congleton/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images Megyn Kelly Believes White People Should Be Allowed To Wear Blackface This broad really sat on live television and said…*sigh* Megyn Kelly doesn’t get what the big deal is about wearing Blackface. According to her, if some WASPy housewife wants to look like Diana Ross then she should be granted free pass to paint her skin dark in order to properly honor a Black woman. Megyn Kelly dumb as hell.

Sophie Simmons, Jewish Girl, in Christmas Pyjamas of the Day

I would say that this is some Sophie Simmons doing some cultural appropriation, because she was raised Jewish by her Israelite father Gene and the Canadian porno model from the 70s he knocked up during his conquest of many horny KISS groupies which were really challenging to Weinstein as they threw themselves at him and his make-up and high heels that have made him a billion dollars… But I guess her mom isn’t a Jewish, unless she converted, which she probably did to score the good life she’s got all for being hot and not a pain in the ass…and I guess there’s no real cultural appropriation when it comes to celebrating Christmas, that shit is mainstream and commercial, all cultures are welcome so long as they buy gifts and perpetuate consumerism….we are inclusive… This isn’t the BLACKFACE, the Christmas edition, but it isn’t the kind of pajamas I like seeing mom and daughter in….see previous post…. But it’s women with trap door pajamas designed for ANAL rape…but is it really rape if there’s a clear invitation…like a doorway to the anus…exactly…. There’s little hot in this, or in Sophie Simmons, unless you’re a KISS fan in which case it’s as close as you can get to fucking your LEADER / GOD without being considered a homo. Ann R. Tuennerman, founder of Tales of the Cocktail And Husband Paul In Blackface Incident A New Orleans couple who founded a major cocktail conference has plunged themselves into a racial firestorm after the husband posted a picture of his wife clad in blackface and an afro. In now deleted Facebook posts, Paul Tuennerman last week uploaded a video of his wife in blackface and an afro with the caption, “As he said ‘Throw a little Black Face on and you lose all your Media Skills.’ He did his best as the Interviewer.” The Tuennerman’s founded Tales of the Cocktail, a mixology conference that draws some 15,000 to 20,000 bartenders and mixologists from around the world, and pulls in millions a year in sales. Ann Tuennerman has since apologized, while her husband Paul resigned from Tales of the Cocktail last week, calling the blackface stunt “stupid,” and “was meant to be a husband’s innocent teasing of his camera-shy wife, not a belittlement of others.” But Joseph Solis, a mixologist for 15 years who works with Hennessy and founded the Sol Hospitality Group, said the blackface incident shows that there is a need for diversity and inclusion initiatives within the mixology and bartending industry. “I’ve been going there (Tales of the Cocktail) for years and I can’t count how many times I’ve been the only chocolate chip in the cookie,” Solis said. “I think it’s disgusting. I think it’s inappropriate and I think it’s inexcusable.” The blackface incident has also caused an uproar among bartenders of color around the country, many of whom said that they’ve been made to feel less than in the traditionally white male-dominated industry. Solis agreed: “Consider how much money people of color spend on alcohol,” he said. “This story needs to be told.” Tales of the Cocktail, Facebook

Rob Kardashian Wipes Instagram Account Clean. Again.

Some might call this a publicity stunt, but most people can safely assume that Rob Kardashian is being dramatic. Again. For the second time time in 2 months, Kardashian has gone ahead and deleted every single photo from his Instagram account, and unfollowed anyone he had been following. This includes a photo from designer Tommy Hilfiger, who had shown off a pair of Kardashian's Arthur George socks on a private plane. Either Kardashian is likes a good digital cleanse, or he's mad about something again. The first time this happened, he and fiancee Blac Chyna had a massive blowout while filming their reality show, Rob & Chyna . “Rob and her have been getting into little tiffs and Blac Chyna flipped on Rob,” a source told E! News back in late July. “He was so pissed at how she spoke to him, so he deleted everything about her to hurt her.” “Rob has never cheated on her, but she is very paranoid about that from past experiences,” and reassures us that they are “fine” now. “[They're] back in love and have spoken through their fight.” Another source told Us Weekly that their fight was “explosive.” “Yes, it was a fight, but they will be over it and basically are,” the source said. The source added that Chyna was making plans to hang out with her own friends, and Kardashian got a little whiny, claiming that he was being “neglected.” “They’ve been spending a ton of time together and filming a show together. Add to that the stress of a new relationship and it’s inevitable that there will be some tension and fighting.”  So, what led to this explosive fight? “They were filming this weekend, and one of the people in her crew asked her to do something without him, and he snapped. … They started talking again [on Sunday] though and made up [on Monday].” Kardashian is notorious for deleting Instagram pictures whenever he's at odds with a loved one.  He did it with Chyna this past winter, as well as in 2015. In a new clip teasing Sunday's premiere, Kardashian admits to Scott Disick that Chyna kicked him out of the house. “Chyna and I got in a fight so she kicked me out,” Kardashian told Disick. “I'm just gonna let her be and give her her space and I don't know.”  During his one-on-one interview, Kardashian admitted that he was over the fghting. “This cycle of me being kicked out the house has happened several times and usually I go right back but I'm sick of it so Imma stay at my house in Calabasas for a bit,” he said. Back in the car, Disick was supported of his buddy, assuring him that these things happen and Chyna is hormonal right now because of the pregnancy. It's not a good feeling when you get kicked out,” Kardashian said. “Dude you're telling me my own life, it happens!” Disick joked.

Nick Viall: So Nervous To Be The Bachelor!

Nick Viall has attempted to find love on national television three times already.  The reality TV star was recently revealed to be our The Bachelor Season 21 suitor and it came with a lot of backlash.  The backlash mostly came from the rumors that Luke Pell was meant to be the main man for the job.  Pell competed on The Bachelorette Season 12 and accumulated a lot of fans throughout his run on the show.  Nick has featured on two seasons of The Bachelorette and one season of Bachelor in Paradise, so you can understand why some think Pell deserved it more.  What the heck is wrong with Nick? The dude just can’t seem to find love and surely that will make for a dramatic season of the show.  View Slideshow: Nick Viall and Andi Dorfman (and Kaitlyn Bristowe): What Might Have Been! Maybe that’s why producers opted for Nick over Luke. However, Nick has now revealed that he is “very nervous” about appearing as the leading man on the show. The 35-year-old chatted with Good Morning America ‘s Michael Strahan and Amy Robach on Thursday. He also admitted that it took him a few days to decide on whether to take the producers up on their offer.  Maybe that’s why Luke Pell had his bags packed? The producers could have been stringing him along until Nick inevitably accepted the opportunity.  “I didn’t have a lot of time to think about it,” he continued. “Because they didn’t ask me too long ago.” It all sounds pretty ominous, but would Luke have really been the leading man if Nick declined? There’s a good chance of that.  Luke’s co-star, Robby Hayes recently chimed in about Viall’s casting and was less than positive about it.  He even said Nick was too old to be on the show.  Maybe it’s down to the fact that he and Pell competed on the same season of the show.  That said, Hayes did confirm that he would consider appearing as the leading man.  Basically, if he was asked, he would say yes. No one in their right mind is going to say no.  Nick touched upon the huge responsibility that comes with being part of the reality hit.  “There’s a lot of expectations that come with it. There’s also no guarantees. …I get to be the Bachelor. I get to meet 25 amazing women, but you just never know if you’re gonna connect with them.” “Maybe you connect with someone who doesn’t like you back.” Amy Robach had the most hilarious response.  “Yeah, you know a little bit about that.” That was obviously a nod to the fact that Viall is yet to find love on television.  Burn!
