North Carolina Senate bans mountaintop wind turbines

When news first broke that North Carolina's ban wind turbines from being installed on mountains–on the grounds that they were too ugly–it generated some lively debate. But now, it appears the debate is over and the state senate has voted overwhelmingly in favor of the ban (a stunning 42 to1).
