Um, Huh? Bad Becky Bruce Is “Not Gay OR Straight” According To Friends

Bruce Jenner: Not Gay OR Straight After Transition Even though Bruce is flipping himself from a former male Olympic powerhouse to a bad bish in 6-inch loubs, he wants it to be clear that he’s not looking for a man of his own after his “journey” is complete. However, that isn’t to say he’s looking for a woman either… Via RadarOnline : “It is quite complicated,” an insider tells Radar. “A lot of people think that his transformation has to do with the fact that he wants to have sex with men. If that was why he was doing this, then he would just come out as a gay man.” “Bruce is not gay,” the source says. “He did not have sex with men while he was with Kris, and he does not have sex with men now. However, according to the source, “Bruce is not going through this transition to be a lesbian, either.” Indeed, the 65-year-old former Olympian has fathered six biological children – Kendall, 19, Kylie, 17, Brody, 31, Brandon, 33, Casey 34, and Burt, 36 — with women. “Bruce obviously has loved to be with women in the past,” the source says. “But sex is the farthest thing from Bruce’s mind right now.” Man, what the hell does that even mean? SMH.

Orlando Magic Fires Jacque Vaughn After Consecutive Losses

Vaughn Fired By Orlando Magic Well it doesn’t seem as if they made a poor decision with this one. Via Page Six : The Magic have fired Jacque Vaughn and water is still wet. Few will question the decision of the underperforming Magic, but the manner in which the axing went down shows Orlando’s problems go well beyond their head coach. Almost a week ago — before you had heard the name Malcolm Butler and you still thought Pete Carroll was a good coach — sources told Yahoo Sports this about the possibility of Vaughn getting fired: “It isn’t a matter of ‘if’ anymore, but ‘when.’” The Magic should be better than 15-36 with a nice collection of young talent in the underwhelming East, so this came as no surprise. What should come as a surprise is the Magic didn’t deliver the pink slip until six days and three losses later. “I do my job every day,” Vaughn told the Orlando Sentinel on Friday. “I don’t abide by the tyranny of other people’s attitudes and moods. I’m ready to rock ‘n’ roll.” This is the kind of thing the Magic franchise has become known for after presiding over the Dwight Howard and Stan Van Gundy debacle. The lowlight there came when their previous coach was backed into such a corner, he went to reporters and told them the star center was trying to get him fired right before Howard had his turn with the media. It’s a new regime with the same problems, which could make it difficult to lure a quality coach to fix. Wonder if he’ll snag another coaching gig?

New Orleans “Teacher Of The Year” Nominee Terrilynn Monette Still Missing Since Getting Slizzed With Friends On March 2nd

We can’t afford to lose good teachers… New Orleans Teacher Terrilynn Monette Still Missing Via HuffingtonPost A talented young teacher credited with turning around her underperforming elementary school class in New Orleans has been missing for almost two weeks. Second-grade teacher Terrilynn Monette was last seen on March 2 after a night of drinking with friends. The 26-year-old was celebrating her nomination as “Teacher of the Year” in her district, CNN reported. A barkeeper cut off the tipsy Monette, who told friends she was going to sleep it off in her car parked nearby, WGMB reported. Friends said they saw the California native talking to a man near her car at 4 a.m. — by sunrise she and her 2012 black Honda Accord were gone without a trace. Her cellphone stopped emitting a signal several hours before she disappeared, police said. The man that she was seen speaking to in the wee hours of the night has been interviewed by police and ruled out as a suspect in her disappearance. Volunteers, including co-workers from Woodland West Elementary School and family members from her hometown of Long Beach, turned out in droves to search for Monette, WWLT reported. More than 200 people checked New Orleans’ City Park, which is near Parlay’s Bar in the Lakeview section where she’d been partying with friends. Not only is Terrilynn a loved friend, sister, and daughter, she is a valuable part of the lives of her students and community. If you live in the Nawlins area please keep an eye out for

Sundance Diary: Stephen Frears and Spike Lee Stumble, Stymie with Sundance Selections

Coming to Sundance with new films in the Premieres section, both Stephen Frears and Spike Lee were navigating new terrain, a pair of established directors seeking distribution for their independent features. Frears’ betting memoir/dramedy Lay the Favorite went first, premiering to dismal reviews Saturday night. Lee’s Red Hook Summer , a hotly anticipated entry that brings him back to his Brooklyn wheelhouse after the underperforming WWII pic Miracle at St. Anna , followed Sunday, drawing mixed initial reactions from Twittering press. The Frears, as I shall call it, should turn out to be the bigger critical fail of the two. Based on Beth Raymer’s book detailing her experience in the world of sports betting, it’s an annoyingly bright, tone-deaf character comedy-drama built around a ditzy young stripper (Rebecca Hall) who finds she’s good at running numbers and becomes a betting agent in Vegas under veteran Bruce Willis; when the attraction between them complicates things, Beth strikes out on her own and, through a series of near-felony crimes and poor decisions, learns to grow up, kinda. It’s a shame that Hall, one of the best actresses to emerge of late, is stuck putting on one of the most grating voices and personalities in recent memory here. Transformed into a daisy dukes-wearing, hair-twirling, ditzy coquette who speaks in a breathy prattle, she comes off like a selfish, immature savant in a stripper’s body. On the flip side, Willis does nice work as Beth’s married, simpatico boss Dink, and Frank Grillo and Wayne Pére breeze in to perk up the proceedings as assistant bettors, though Vince Vaughn ratchets the manic energy to 11 as a rival agent. But Frears is too enamored of his colorful cast of zany characters — including a trophy wife played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Laura Prepon sporting a turrrible Southern drawl, and Joshua Jackson as the only normal character in the film — to realize how little we care about most of them. I watched a dozen people around me walk out during the film’s premiere. Since this is Sundance this could’ve meant nothing, since they might have been buyers doing their thing. But if they hadn’t been, if they had been regular festival-goers who simply valued their time too much to finish the film, I wouldn’t have been surprised. Either way, I kind of wish I’d joined them. This was not quite the case for Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer , however (which I see Monday morning with the Press & Industry crowd). Word following Sunday’s premiere was sharply divided, with reactions ranging from praise-filled (“Spike Lee’s RED HOOK SUMMER is a passionate, painful love letter to Brooklyn, NYC, black America & the black church, Tweeted Salon’s Andrew O’Hehir . “Very special movie.”) to derisive (“…one of the worst movies to ever premiere at #sundance,” declared ComingSoon’s Ed Douglas ). Some, like CinemaBlend’s Katey Rich, expressed a need to deliberate further before passing judgment: “Already regretting instant Red Hook Summer reaction. I need more time to let it settle. Forget everything I said!” Stay tuned to Movieline’s Sundance coverage for more on Red Hook Summer and Spike Lee. Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .
