So ever since I first saw her sloppily share a burger with Sara Jean Underwood during that Carl’s Jr. commercial , I’ve been a fan of Emily Ratajkowski . She’s got everything I look for in a model: namely, big funbags and a willingness to show them off. And here she is doing just that for an upcoming Esquire shoot. I don’t know whose birthday they’re celebrating, but I’m pretty sure they stole my wish.

You may not believe this, but an anonymous source speaking to a supermarket tabloid apparently got it wrong: There is no beef between Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift . Last week, Us Weekly claimed the latter is especially angry at the former, citing Underwood’s joke on stage at the Country Music Association Awards about Swift’s split from Conor Kennedy as a basis for the tension. But Underwood speaks here to Gayle King of CBS and refutes this rumor as nonsense, even naming her favorite Taylor Swift music selection when promoted. What is it? I thought Attack of the Show was cancelled already, but I guess it’s still got a few episodes to go, because here’s Sara Jean Underwood sneaking a peek under her co-host Candace Bailey ‘s dress. I don’t blame her. There’s not much time left, and you don’t want to leave the show with any regrets. Now don’t hog the view. There’s a line forming. Now that Attack Of The Show is being cancelled, it’s nice to see Sara Jean Underwood working on her Twitter modeling career. I don’t know if that pays the rent, but this picture of her busting out of a little red dress almost made me forget that I’m two months late paying mine. If you don’t see posts in the near future, now you know why.
It’s a sad day in Tuna Land, because I just read that G4 cancelled my favorite Sara Jean Underwood -related programming, Attack of the Show . Now how am I supposed to get my fix of Sara in weird nerdy costumes? Anyway, as a going-away present, I put together this collection of Sara’s Twitter pictures from happier times. Carrie Underwood may be a talented, Grammy-winning (heck, everything-winning) country music superstar and the perky, blonde success story that justifies American Idol ‘s iron grip on pop culture — but can she make the hills come alive as Maria von Trapp in NBC’s Sound of Music ? That’s what Chicago & Hairspray producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron must believe, because the pair (who are also producing the upcoming Oscars telecast ) aren’t just tapping the reigning Queen of Country to fill Julie Andrews’ iconic clogs, they’re also taking the ballsy step of doing it in a live broadcast. A live broadcast: That rare beast so prevalent in the early days of television when performers didn’t need auto-tune and could pull off the highwire act of beaming their performance into millions of homes as it happened, flubs and all. “Speaking for everyone at NBC, we couldn’t be happier to have the gifted Carrie Underwood take up the mantle of the great Maria von Trapp,” said NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt (via THR ). “She was an iconic woman who will now be played by an iconic artist.” Maybe it’s the shock of hearing that anyone would dare remake one of the greatest musicals of all time — or that Underwood, who’s certainly built an empire for herself cobbled together from platinum-selling albums and songs about keying her boyfriend’s car and guest appearances on How I Met Your Mother , has the hubris to say, Yes, I can be the Julie freaking Andrews of a new generation — but Underwood as the wide-eyed nun fleeing Nazis in the Swiss Alps doesn’t quite compute. Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp sounds about as right as Nick Jonas as Marius in Les Miserables . (Then again, Zadan and Meron cast Jonas as a Broadway superstar on NBC’s Smash , so… yeah.) [Watch Underwood perform “The Sound of Music” on CBS, h/t @gerradhall.] What do you think of Underwood as Maria, and NBC’s holiday live-broadcast remake of The Sound of Music ? The hills will soon be alive with the sound of … Carrie Underwood! The most successful American Idol winner of all-time has signed on to star in next year’s NBC remake of The Sound of Music . “Speaking for everyone at NBC, we couldn’t be happier to have the gifted Carrie Underwood take up the mantle of the great Maria von Trapp,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, which will air the three-hour movie in late 2013. Julie Andrews made this role famous in the 1965 film that won the Oscar for Best Picture. Underwood has appeared on How I Met Your Mother and the flick Soul Surfer . No word yet regarding who will play the musical’s male lead, Captain Von Trapp.
