Going out on a limb usually means you are taking a chance with something. It’s a risky move, but you honestly feel like that limb won’t break and you will come out the victor. Houston Students Killed In Bus Crash Two Houston families are in mourning after their children were killed when a bus plunged from Loop 610. In addition to the two fatalities, authorities report that two other students were injured when bus driver Luisia Pacheo”overcorrected” her steering to avoid a car. The Houston Chronicle reports: Two students died and two others were hurt along with their bus driver Tuesday morning when a collision caused a school bus to plunge from Loop 610 in southeast Houston, officials said. The bus landed on the eastbound frontage road of the South Loop near Telephone Road about 7 a.m., Houston police said. The dead students were identified as a 14-year-old Furr High School freshman Janiecia Chatman and Mariya Johnson, a 17-year-old student at REACH charter school, a dropout recovery school on the Furr campus. The freshman died at a hospital and the older student at the scene. The other two students, both who attend REACH, had serious injuries, officials said. An HISD official identified one of the injured students as Lakeshia Williams; the other was her twin brother, Brandon. The bus driver was identified as Luisa Pacheco, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. She had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. As police continue their investigation, Houston Police Department spokesman Victor Senties said the driver of a Buick LaSabre told investigators she thought another vehicle near her was drifting into her lane. She veered away and hit the side of the bus. Pacheco apparently over-corrected and the bus careened from the overpass, Senties added. So sad, condolences to those families. After a grueling season in which former sports standouts sought to recapture their Glory Days, The Biggest Loser has crowned a champion at last. Toma Dobrosavljevic, Sonya Jones and Rob Guiry survived 17 episodes of sweat, tears and flat out grueling workouts to make it to the live finale. There could be only one winner, even though all three have won at life, and on The Biggest Loser Season 16 Episode 18 , the victor was revealed … All three finalists revealed impressive numbers on the scale, but having dropped 171 pounds to end the season at 165, Toma Dobrosavljevic wins! The 33-year-old senior project manager from Addison, Ill., lost a higher percentage of his weight than his fellow finalists, claiming the $250,000 prize. “I’m so overwhelmed,” Dobrosavljevic said. “This experience has been so rewarding already, and to be declared The Biggest Loser is so amazing.” Coming in second was Jones, a 39-year-old physical education teacher from Springfield, Ill., who lost 144 pounds to weigh in at the finale at 139. Guiry, a 26-year-old rugby coach from Springfield, Mass., lost the most total weight at a staggering 238 pounds, finishing the season at 245. Both Toma and Sonya lost more pounds than their total body weight at the end, with Guiry almost doing the same. Truly remarkably for all three. Winning the $100,000 at-home prize after being sent home earlier this season was Jordan Alicandro, a 32-year-old sales manager from Canada. Alicandro lost 143 pounds for a final weigh-in of 180. “I was up against some tough competition but I worked really hard for this,” said Alicandro of taking home the best consolation prize around. His plans for the cash? “I was fortunate to go through college debt free, and this money will be going towards a college fund so my son can do the same.” Congratulations to Toma, who takes over for Rachel Frederickson (below) as NBC’s The Biggest Loser, and to all of the contestants this season! Heading into Parenthood Season 6 Episode 13 , the question really wasn’t whether or not viewers would cry over the final installment of this beautifully-written, criminally underrated drama. The question was simply how much one would cry. Watch Parenthood Season 6 Episode 13 Online The finale certainly did not disappoint, as the Braverman family came together for Sarah’s wedding to Hank, which Max was able to photograph… just prior to hitting it off with a beautiful young women who didn’t call him “Asperger’s.” Cue tissue box number-one. Elsewhere, Joel and Julia chose to adopt Victor’s newborn biological sister, while Adam took over Chambers Academy. This decision led Crosby and Amber to breathe new life into The Luncheonette. Then, of course, it came time to bring on tissue box number-two, three and four. Zeek succumbed to his failing heart, although creator Jason Katims and company at least spared us a total breakdown by revealing the moment of his passing off screen before Camille found him, passed away, in his armchair. As he requested, Zeek’s ashes were spread on the baseball field, as a series of flash forwards depictued the Bravermans a few years into the future. Among the highlights: Joel and Julia have four kids. Crosby and Jasmine are expecting their third child. Adam is handing Max his diploma from Chambers Academy. We’re losing any and all control of our tear ducts just writing these words and remembering the footage in our heads. While Parenthood is considered by many to be the most emotional program on television, along with the saddest program on television, Katims shared with TV Line why he chose to end the series on an uplifting note. “This is ultimately an uplifting show, and it’s about this family coming together,” he said. “We didn’t want to give the audience a fairytale ending, and we wanted the story of Zeek dying… “By juxtaposing the death against the family continuing to expand and thrive, that would give it the music of life.” Darn you, Jason Katims. You just made us cry again. Go ahead and watch Parenthood online one final time and sound off below: What did you think of the finale? 10 Most Popular TV Shows on Facebook in 2014 10. Scandal Sex.
