Beyonce and Jay Z: Here’s the Meaning Behind the Twins’ Names!

Can you believe it’s already been over two months since Beyonce gave birth to the twins ?! The world feels a little bit more magical, doesn’t it? It feels cuter, and safer, somehow. It’s a nice feeling. So far, Beyonce and Jay Z have pretty much kept quiet about their two new bundles of joy. Basically all we know is that one of the babies is a boy and the other is a girl, and they spent around a week in the hospital after they were born. They suffered from a minor health issue , most likely jaundice, and required special care, but Beyonce stayed with them until they were able to come home. We haven’t seen a ton of photos of them yet, but our glorious goddess was gracious enough to share the following photo: As for our last little bit of knowledge on these kids, we know their names: Rumi and Sir. When the names were revealed a lot of people were a little … well, they were a little taken aback . Bey and Jay are free to name their offspring whatever they like, of course, but Rumi and Sir? Of course, these are also the people who named their first child Blue Ivy, so perhaps we shouldn’t have been surprised at the names they chose. But hey, we’re only human, and humans who love celebrity gossip at that. Who are we to be chill about some weird baby names? The names were revealed nearly two weeks after we heard that Beyonce had given birth, so again, we’ve had about two months to get used to the titles of our newest future overlords. (We call them overlords, by the way, because if Beyonce’s children don’t grow up to rule the world, then, like, what’s the point?) Are you feeling them yet? If not, maybe you will after you hear Jay Z explain why they chose the names they did! In a new interview, Jay spills all the details — first, for his second daughter, he says “Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter.” And that makes sense, right? Besides, Rumi is a lovely name! It’s the human whose legal name is Sir that really threw us for a loop. But, to explain that, he says “Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that.” “He just came out, like, Sir .” Fair enough. Congrats again, Carter family! View Slideshow: 31 Most Ridiculous Celebrity Baby Names of All Time

Taylor Swift Video Director: Enough with the Beyonce Comparisons!

We’re guessing this hasn’t exactly been the return Taylor Swift envisioned. First, the singer was criticized for a drawn out tease of her new album, taking three days on Instagram to share various snake-themed videos that got kind of old and obvious right away. Then, Swift released ” Look at What You Made Me Do ,” her first single in years. And people HATED it . Then , Swift teased the music video that will debut during tonight’s MTV VMAS… … and a certain segment of the population really let her have it. Based on Swift’s all-black outfit and the alignment of her backup dances, Taylor is accused of copying Beyonce . Members of the passionate Beyhive think Swift stole her look and portions of the music video from Beyonce’s “Formation” performance at the Super Bowl and from her video for the track “Lemonade.” “Lemonade and Minute Maid,” one Internet user wrote rather harshly, while others offered critiques such as the following: On Friday night, however, Joseph Kahn came to Swift’s defense. The Grammy-winning director behind Swift’s “Bad Blood” video, as well as Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” and “Jumpin Jumpin,” Tweeted his reaction to fan speculation that Tay was making like Bey. “I’ve worked with Beyoncé a few times,” Kahn wrote. “She’s an amazing person. The #LWYMMDvideo is not in her art space. Love and respect to Bey.” Interesting take and perspective, right? The shot of Swift and her male dancers all lined up in an elegant ballroom is the one that has Beyonce fans must upset. “Beyonce played on being a plantation owner in Formation & now that Taylor Swift is ripping from it she’s trying to be one too,” wrote one critic on social media. And others have been ripping Swift for the way she launched her comeback, for the single itself and then for the video. “The song is a poor man’s Britney, the video’s gonna be a poor man’s Beyonce,” explained another hater. “Taylor Swift wants to be anyone but Taylor Swift.” Ouch . We’ll get a chance to view the entire video on Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards. It’s probably best to withhold judgment until then. “There’s something to that ‘Formation’ shot I painted out and you haven’t seen yet,” Kahn added on Twitter, teasing the video’s upcoming premiere and writing: “Stay tuned Sunday #LWYMMDvideo #SneakyAsian.” We’ll be doing that for sure. Pam Anderson by David Lachapelle for Flaunt Magazine of the Day

Pam Anderson is in Flaunt…shot by her homie, who we haven’t heard much about in years, because he was priobably hanging out with Pam Anderson in obscurity, Dave Lachapelle, who unlike Dave Chapelle, was a massive music video director back when Pam Anderson was relelvant….and who has since gone on to take gigs she brings him because she feels bad for him…and because he’s pretty genius in his high production, obscure shoots, that make instagram photoshoots look as broke ass as they fucking are.. This is for Flaunt, she’s naked despite being 100, but her tits are 10-15, so it balances out…even if that makes you a sex offender…I mean sex with Pam Anderson, or jerking off to her now…is pretty fucking offensive sexually anyway you dissect like her plastic surgeon.. BET Awards 2012: List of Winners!

Beyonce came, saw and conquered the 12th annual BET Awards. She “only” one won award, but by flashing that big smile every time cameras cut to her (approximately every 10 seconds), she was the star of the evening. Her man, Jay-Z, took home a pair of awards (Best Group and Best Video), so it was a successful night for the parents of Blue Ivy Carter all around. With Samuel L. Jackson handling hosting, and stars such as Bey, Jay, Chris Brown Kanye West and Nicki Minaj on hand, there was mega-star wattage. Minaj’s performance and the lack of censorship are sure to cause some people headaches today, while lighter and heavier moments were abundant. Jokes were made about Lauryn Hill’s tax problems and Kanye’s cutting off Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs. His GF Kim Kardashian was present as well. Finally, a moving Whitney Houston tribute by Mariah Carey, Monica, Brandy and the late star’s mom Cissy Houston left nary a dry eye in the venue.
