Abbie Burnett Pregnancy: Spoiled by Jessa Duggar?!?

Congratulations may be in order for another member of the Duggar Family. And condemnation may be in store for one of her loved ones. Allow us to explain… Abbie Burnett and John David Duggar got married in November of 2018. That was seven months ago, which means the couple is WAY behind in terms of getting pregnant and planning what we presume will be a huge family… … simply based on the pattern showed over the years by all of John David’s loved ones. But might the time finally be here? Might Abbie finally be pregnant? A relative may have actually spoiled the answer in unexpected and accidental fashion last week. Several days ago, as you likely have read about by now, the Duggars lost matriarch Mary in a tragic drowning accident . She was only 74 years old at the time and the unexpected passing led to a number of tributes from those who knew Mary well. Inlcuding Jessa Duggar. Jim Bob’s beloved mother died just days after meeting Jessa and Ben Seewald’s latest baby, who just happened to be born on Grandma Mary’s birthday. In part of the caption shew wrote as a shout-out to Mary, Jessa wrote the following: “She was so excited about the many new great-grandbabies due this coming fall and winter, and it never got old for her.” Did you catch it? The hint Jessa may have dropped about Abbie’s womb? We’ll break it down for you: Many Duggars are pregnant at the moment. Like, many, many, many Duggars. But here’s the thing: Lauren (Swanson) Duggar, Kendra (Caldwell) Duggar, Anna Duggar, and Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth are all due in November. Moreover, their cousin Amy, is due in October. Those due dates all land in autumn… yet Jessa said Mary had been excited to welcome her “great-grandbabies due this coming fall and winter.” Yes: And winter . It sure sounds like someone else is expecting, doesn’t it? We figure it has to be Abbie because she and John David are simply due for a pregnancy announcement. Granted, they both waited a little while before tying the knot (John David is 28 and Abbie is 26), breaking from the Duggar tradtion of becoming a spouse by the age of, like, 20 and a parent of multiple kids by the age of, like 23. “We are so excited to be married!” they told Us Weekly back in November, adding at the time: “It was a beautiful moment and we so appreciate our friends and family for sharing this day with us. Most of all we are thankful to Christ for bringing us together.” “This is going to be an amazing journey!” But will it include a newborn this December or next January or next February? We’ll probably find out soon! View Slideshow: The Duggars: Who’s Courting? Pregnant? Next In Line? [UPDATED]

John David Duggar Likely Forced Wife to Stop Working, Because That’s What They Do

Abbie Burnett worked as a registered nurse when she met John David Duggar, the second-eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle. She had dedicated her professional life to helping those in need, pretty much as admirable an occupation as one can possess. One would think John David and his loved ones would admire Abbie. One would think that they’d applaud her career and encourage her to pursue it in whatever way she wanted. One would think they’d even push her to advance far in the industry in order to help as many people as possible. But anyone who thinks this clearly is not familiar with the Duggars. Earlier this year, we reported that the family was actually unhappy that Burnett continued to work . Licensed in Oklahoma, Abbie was in the process of transferring that nursing license to Arkansas so that she could continue to work in her new home state. Fast forward about two months, however, and Burnett no longer has a job. Despite having gone to school for many years to serve patients as a nurse, she has decided to quit, which has led many Counting On viewers to wonder… … was this really her decision? During a recent episode of Counting On , Abbie seemed hesitant about stop working – and she didn’t rule out going back to the nursing profession someday. “I just love taking care of people. But I left my job a couple of months ago so that I could plan for the wedding,” she explained, elaborating as follows: “I do hope to go back to nursing one day, especially so I can keep up my license and my skills.” Admirable, right? (If you ignore the part that anyone would actually leave a job just to plan a wedding, which is bat$hit insane.) Time will tell if Burnett really does join the professional ranks at some point soon, but we’d be surprised if she were in a hurry. It seems nearly impossible to believe that John David isn’t pressuring her to remain at home and just churn out his babies. This is really all women are good for in the eyes of the Duggar family. We can’t think of a single female within the clan that has a job, can you? But we can think of quite a few that recently gave birth or who are currently pregnant. (Congrats to  Kendra and Joseph Duggar , by the way! And also Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald!) Indeed, while many Duggar fans may support these reality stars because they seem to value family and love and all the cliches that come along with it… let’s be real: Even the most ardent supporter must admit that the Duggars don’t exactly believe in female empowerment. We’re sure she’ll announce any minute now that she’s expecting and we’ll wish her all the best for a safe and relatively easy pregnancy/delivery. We just also hope she maintains a sense of autonomy while married. She’s still her own person and that person accomplished a great deal prior to meeting John David and exchanging vows. Never lose sight of who that person is, okay, Abbie? Stay strong. View Slideshow: John David Duggar: I Never Followed Courtship Rules Before Marriage, Bro!

Kim Kardashian: I Hope Baby #4 Will Fix My Marriage!

Just a few weeks ago, Kim Kardashian confirmed that she's expecting her fourth child , and even teased the due date. On Thursday night, Kim spoke to Jimmy Fallon about her hopes and fears about having a fourth child. She even reveals why she believes that Baby #4 will change her family dynamic for the better. Kim Kardashian once again confirms that she is expecting Baby #4. She is excited for this baby boy, but the mother of three admits that she has concerns. “I was kind of stressing,” Kim Kardashian confesses.  “My house is so full,” she notes. Remember, they're not just a family of five. In addition to staff who help them out, their home is often full of cameras.  So what led her to take this leap? “I heard,” Kim shares. “That parents of four are the most enlightened and calm of all parents.” That is … genuinely hilarious. We don't doubt that she heard it, but it's bonkers. “I felt the huge change,” Kim says. “From 1 to 2 felt like from 1 to 20.” That's what everyone says, and yet people keep churning out second children. “That was harder than 2 to 3, for me,” she confesses. “I feel like four is going to be really even, though,” Kim says optimistically. “Right now,” she explains. “It’s like me with two always and Kanye just has one” “So he’s just like still living his life and I’m, ya know,” she says. Kim imagines that balancing their parenting duties with an additional child will even the scales. She also notes that North has inherited Kanye's ability to fall asleep quickly and anywhere. (Honestly, if you could put that kind of ability in a safe pill, you'd be richer than all of the Kardashians combined) “My 5-year-old daughter, North, and my 3-year-old son, Saint, are finally getting along,” Kim brags. Toddlers can be a lot to put up with, especially for a slightly older sibling who was perfectly content as an only child. “She needs to still get it together and warm up and be a little bit nicer,” Kim admits. “But I think she’s getting there.” “I saw glimmers of hope a week ago,” Kim adds. “She’s not harmful,” Kim clarifies. “She’s not hurting him or anything.” “She just doesn’t want boys in her room,” she concludes. That's fair. At best, there could be a correlation to explain the goofy claim that four kids make for more peaceful, enlightened parents. Parents who have enough money to support four children in our nightmare economy can also afford peace of mind. Alternatively, maybe they're more peaceful because they haven't slept properly in years and are just constantly dissociating. Also, obviously, having another child to fix your marriage — as Kim comes awfully close to suggesting — is a terrible idea. That said, maybe Kim is just joking about her reasoning. It's so difficult to tell with her. Fortunately, Kim and Kanye can afford to have as many children as they like. Or more, if they need to. That means physical space for the children, expensive gifts, nannies, additional security, healthcare, and a first-rate education. They can even afford gestational carriers so that they can safely have more babies. That was how Chicago was born, and she turned one year old just last month. In a world where millions of people are delaying having kids because they can't afford to become parents yet, being insanely wealthy has its perks.

John David Duggar Confirms: I Never Followed Courtship Rules Before Marriage

Back in November,  John David married Abbie Burnett in the sort of lavish, massively-attended ceremony that his family has become known for. On the surface, it looked just like all the other Duggar nuptials we've seen over the years. But the journey that led John David and Abbie to the altar was unlike anything Duggar fans had seen before. Many noticed that the couple didn't seem terribly concerned with the infamous Duggar courtship rules that prohibit just about any sort of physical contact prior to marriage. And now, John David and his new bride are confirming some long-standing rumors about their relationship. Take a look: 1. Rebels From the beginning of their relationship, it was rumored that John David and Abbie were none too concerned with his parents’ ridiculous courtship rules. 2. The Big Day John David and Abbie got married in a ceremony that looked just like the many Duggar weddings that came before it. 3. Breaking the Rules Fans were quick to notice, however, that John and Abbie’s courtship looked very different from anything they’d seen previously. 4. Touchy Subject Specifically, John and Abbie seemed to disregard the courtship rule that prohibits couples from engaging in any sort of physical contact before marriage. 5. Allow Us to Explain The Duggars are usually quite secretive about their famously strict code of conduct, particularly when it comes to matters of love and marriage. 6. Clearing the Air John David addressed the matter directly in a preview for the upcoming season of Counting On. View Slideshow

Counting On Season 4 Trailer Teases Major Duggar Announcement

Unlike members of the Duggar Family, who scarcely even look their partner in the eye until marital vows are exchanged, the following preview for Counting On Season 4 is just one big tease. Yes, the 90-second trailer focuses a little bit on Jinger going into labor, making it clear just how scary of a process this was for the relatively new mother. “I thought an epidural would probably be best because I was so at the end of anything I could do – I had no energy or strength to continue on,” the 25-year old says in this sneak peek. And, yes, we'll also see John David propose to girlfriend Abbie Burnett inside of an airport hangar… by reading his proposal off a long sheet of paper. And there will be clips of Jana Duggar and family friend Laura DeMasie helping to coordinate the affair for 1,000 guests. Elsewhere, you better there will be snippets of Josiah Duggar and wife Lauren flying off for a chaperone-free, romantic honeymoon in Austria, where they tour iconic sights from The Sound of Music and learn to speak some German. However, the real drama comes toward the end of this teaser, where hear a producer ask various cast members: What if I told you that somebody else in your family has a big announcement? We then see each of their reactions. “What do you mean?” aks Joy-Anna. “Really?” replies Ben Seewald. There's an audible WHOA! and then a producer says to Jana: “James was letting on that it was you.” And she just giggles. For this reason, fans are wondering whether the major news is that Jana actually is courting after all, despite her recent denials . It would be about time for the 28-year old, right? Counting On returns February 11 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC. Check out the enticing preview now!

John-David Duggar and Abbie Grace Burnett: MARRIED!

John-David Duggar and Abbie Burnett have finally gotten fo first base. And now they’re prepared to go all the way… … as husband and wife! The couple, who started courting in June and announced their engagement a month later, went ahead and got married on Saturday, November 3. They confirmed the exciting news to Us Weekly via a statement that reads: “We are so excited to be married! “It was a beautiful moment and we so appreciate our friends and family for sharing this day with us. Most of all we are thankful to Christ for bringing us together.  “This is going to be an amazing journey!” The Duggar family also made the nuptials public by writing a post titled “Husband and Wife!” on its official blog that includes this passage: “We are overjoyed for the two of them to begin their married life together.  We know the Lord has brought them together and will use them to reach many people. “We are so happy to be surrounded by family and friends and we thank you all for your prayers and support for John and Abbie.” Many members of his famous family were afraid that John-David would never find a mate, but he seemed VERY into Abbie as soon as the pair made their relationship romantic. We often heard the two were breaking Duggar courtship rules on the reg, snuggling and even kissing in public. They just couldn’t keep their hands off each other , according to various reports. Touching of pretty much any kind before marriage is forbidden by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. Now, however, nothing is off limits. We’d have to imagine John-David and Abbie took full advantage of their new status on their wedding night, as they addded a section of their own in the aforementioned blog post. “We are so excited to be married!” it reads. “It was a beautiful moment and we so appreciate our friends and family for sharing this day with us. “Most of all we are thankful to Christ for bringing us together. This is going to be an amazing journey!” This bride and groom knew of each other for several years before they started courting, although Burnett said over the summer that she “really got connected” to Duggar when the TLC personality visited her native Oklahoma for a church event. Abbie lives there and works there as a nurse. In a network-sponsored video, meanwhile, Duggar and Burnett explained that they “fell in love very quickly,” saying together after agreeing to marry in July: Wow! We are engaged! This feels even more real than before! It was a special moment to share together. The proposal and the ‘YES’ really solidified that we want to spend the rest of our lives together. One of the most amazing things about following Christ is being able to trust Him to direct your path and lead your life. We are so thankful that He led us to one another. And now He has led them into marriage. In June, as you likely know, another Counting On family member, Joshiah Duggar, married Lauren Swanson in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. For more details on Duggar and Burnett’s big day, fans will be able can get a first look of the ceremony on November 20 on TLC GO. And they can also tune in November 27 at 10/9c to see the wedding special on TLC. Congrats to the newlyweds! The Duggar Family Is Worth a TON of Money … And Here’s How They Earned It

It should come as no surprise that the Duggar family is worth a lot of money . But what many fans may not realize is that not all of the Duggar fortune comes from their reality TV empire. After all, television audiences are fickle, and future success can be hard to predict. Jim Bob is well aware of this, and since it's part of his belief system that God favors the wealthy, the Duggar patriarch is doing everything he can to stay in his creator's good graces by keeping his pockets fat — by whatever means necessary: 1. The Counting On Clan The Duggars’ reality show remains a popular fixture on the TLC schedule. 2. Looking to the Future But those profits needed to be divided many different ways, and the family has been in the business long enough to know current success is no guarantee of future success. 3. Living Large The Duggars certainly aren’t struggling. Despite having many, many mouths to feed, Jim Bob and Michelle own several properties in Arkansas, including the 7,000-foot “compound” in which they reside. 4. The Plane Truth The Duggars have also purchased two private aircraft. JB and Michelle’s son John David is a licensed pilot. 5. Jim Bob Moneybags All told, Jim Bob is estimated to be worth roughly $3.5 million. 6. Always Hustling A sizable chunk of change, but when you consider the size of his brood (now up to 20 with recent adoptee Tyler, it’s easy to see why the pious patriarch isn’t resting easy … View Slideshow

John David Duggar & Abbie Burnett: We Make Our Own Courtship Rules!

It's been just over a month since the world learned that John David Duggar and Abbie Burnett are engaged . And in that time, the couple has faced far greater scrutiny than any previous Duggar couple. The reason for that, of course, is that John David and Abbie break “the courtship rules” so frequently (and openly) that it often seems they're not bound by the same strictures that his siblings were forced to abide by. And now, the young lovebirds have posted a pic that's being interpreted as proof that they've made their own rules and couldn't care less about Jim Bob's commandments … 1. The Happy Couple John David began courting much later in life than any of his male siblings, but it looks as though his patience has truly paid off. 2. Wasting No Time He and Abbie moved fast once they found each other, and John David popped the question after just a few weeks of dating. 3. Hands On From the start of their relationship, John David and Abbie appeared to be less skittish about physical contact than their predecessors. 4. Bold Move In fact, they rather brazenly violated his family’s arcane rules about premarital physical contact. 5. The Rules If you’re a fan of the Duggar clan, then you’re probably already aware that Jim Bob and Michelle’s offspring are forbidden to engage just about any form of physical contact prior to marriage. 6. The Origins Many of the rules prohibiting “front-hugs” and dictating how long unmarried couples are permitted to hold hands are culled from the teachings of the Duggars’ church, but others were invented by Jim Bob and Michelle themselves.
