Situation Sues Over GTL Trademark Infringement

Gym, tan, lawsuit? It’s another ugly legal situation for Mike Sorrentino. This time, the Jersey Shore star wants to make sure his GTL trademark is intact, which means suing a random ass guido-themed lifestyle company for ripping off The Situation’s brand. The lawsuit has been filed … but does it have merit? Don’t cry, Mike … it’s gonna be alright dawg . Sitch’s cease and desist letter to a website called MyGTLFuel (dot) com claims they’d better quit exploiting his trademark or legal action will be a-comin’. The site, which sells everything from energy shots to tanning lotion, hasn’t gone anywhere yet, as its owner, Dana Valentino, says there’s no trademark. According to Valentino, Sitch applied for the “GTL” trademark, but doesn’t legally own it … yet. He wants to settle this amicably but NOT close up shop. Mike is also involved in a legal dispute with Abercrombie .

Jennifer Aniston has been put on notice. First, it was Patti Stanger , the Millionaire Matchmaker , telling her to be wary of moving so fast with her new love. Now Justin Theroux’s ex, Heidi Bivens, says he’s not right for her! Apparently he will “NEVER” be faithful … Did Justin cruelly mock Jen? Depends who you ask! It’s true that Theroux, 40, was dating Heidi Bivens for more than a decade before he began seeing Aniston, 42. But is there really something salacious? Criminal past? That probably entails a minor offense two decades ago. Somehow we don’t believe Jen is dating some axe murderer without know it. Still, as long as he’s a relatively random guy dating America’s Sweetheart, Theroux can expect to be scrutinized and then some. Hopefully it’s worth it.

There’s no way the hardest working woman in showbiz would miss one of the biggest night’s in showbiz. Little Monsters everywhere can rejoice, because Lady Gaga will be performing at the upcoming 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The Gaga joins a VMA roster that already includes Adele, Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and Young the Giant. The 2011 VMAs will air August 28. Gaga unexpectedly unleashed the mind-blowing six-minute “You and I” music video Tuesday via Twitter. The video makes its TV debut tonight at 7:49 p.m. on MTV. “You and I” is the fourth single to be released from Born This Way . In addition to performing, Lady Gaga is nominated for four Moonmen at the VMAs: Best Female Video (“Born This Way”), Best Art Direction (“Judas”), Best Choreography (” Judas “) and Best Video With a Message (“Born This Way”). Abercrombie & Fitch’s timing, not unlike its earnings outlook, is less than stellar. Just hours after their offer to Jersey Shore ‘s The Situation – to pay him a “substantial amount” in exchange for him NOT wearing their apparel – the latest figures for the preppy retail chain were released. Short story? They sucked. “Looks like Abercrombie got themselves into a Situation!” you-know-who tweeted. Sitch, a.k.a. Mike Sorrentino, went on to add: “Thanks #SituationNation for having my back and you are the best fans in the world! I love you guys!” An article detailing the steady decline of A&F stock coincidentally came out right after new wake of their non-endorsement offer to Sitch had leaked. There was no mention of any correlation to the Jersey Shore cast’s love for the brand, but company’s stock took a dive of nine percent regardless. Despite their offer, clearly a diss of Mike and an opportunistic PR ploy, the retailer is still offering its bestselling “The Fitchuation” t-shirts online. Not that MTV is bitter in the least. “It’s a clever PR stunt,” the network said. “We’d love to work with them on other ways they can leverage Jersey Shore to reach the largest youth audience on TV.” MTV 1, A&F 0.
