Man Are Bigots, Bruv: Met Police In London Increase “Stop And Search” 19% Among Black Folks

Source: NIKLAS HALLE'N / Getty London’s Met Police Significantly Increase “Stop And Search” Of Black People The world is a ghetto according to the legendary band WAR and the unfair police practices that are oppressing our brothas and sistas across the pond are proof positive of their 1972 proclamation. According to The Guardian , “stop and search”, the UK version of “stop and frisk”, went up 19% among Black people while white folks rate of search only increased by 5%. For reference, Black folks are 15.6% of London’s population while white folks make up 59.8%, yet somehow of all the searches done in 2018 Black people accounted for 43% and whites only accounted for 35%. In 2014 Black were 2.6 times more likely to be stopped by Met Police, in 2018, we were 4.2 times more likely to be stopped. The Met defended its actions saying youths from an “African-Caribbean heritage” were more likely than whites to be knife attackers or victims, and it was a crucial way to catch criminals and keep youngsters safe. It said violence “disproportionately affects areas with a more ethnically diverse population”. Crazy how much all of this sounds EXACTLY like the type of BS they tell us here in the U.S. The figures for 2018 shows there were 10.8 stops for every 1,000 white people, while for black people in London it was 50.2 stops per thousand of population. The fact that cops still trot out these ridiculous stats in an attempt to prove that Blacks and people of color are more likely to commit violent crimes is wholly offensive. Sgt Tola Munro, the president of the National Black Police Association, said: “It is no excuse to suggest that weapons or drugs are more likely to be found on black and Asian people. Even if there were that does not excuse this disproportionality – it’s not unconscious, it’s systemic racial profiling.” The hashtag might not be as popular as it once was, but #BlackLivesMatter still.

Chloe Sims Must Be Chilly

Here’s Chloe Sims at the ITV Summer Party in London, and it must be cold across the pond, because the busty MILF’s looking a little chilly in these pictures. Now I’m not entirely sure how that’s possible considering it’s mid-July, but luckily, as the Internet’s resident expert in both nippleitis and busty British reality stars, I should be able to get to the bottom of this. So if you’ll excuse me, I need to go study these pictures more closely. And by that I mean with my nose a couple inches closer to my computer screen. This might take a while… Photos: WENN.com

WATCH: ‘Rush’ Trailer − Has Ron Howard Finally Released The Clutch On His Stolid Filmmaking Style?

Ron Howard’s time across the pond looks like it has been good for him.  With the exception of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby , I’ve never been a fan of racing movies.  I realize that death lurks around every curve, but, from a spectator’s perspective, auto races are about as thrilling as Major League baseball games. There’s a lot of monotony in those laps (and innings).   I feel the same about Howard’s stolid filmmaking style — have you seen The Da Vinci Code lately? — so when I learned he was the director of Rush , the story of the 1970s rivalry between Formula One race-car drivers Austrian Niki Lauda and Brit James Hunt , I didn’t exactly put it on my must-see list of 2013. But after watching this revved-up UK trailer for the movie, I’ve changed my mind.  I’m now eager to see Rush,  if only to determine whether Howard has shaken up his filmmaking style as much as this clip indicates. To use a punny driving term: he looks like he’s really released the clutch on his safe style.  There’s real tension and unpredictable energy in this footage, which was shot in the UK and Germany, as well as a kind of feckless romance that is so Seventies. (As Hunt, the rakish Chris Hemsworth , says in voiceover: “The closer you are to death, the more alive you feel.” Oh yes, and Olivia Wilde plays 70s model Suzy Miller.) And pay special attention to Daniel Brühl , who may not be as handsome as Hemsworth, but is much more compelling as Lauder, the Austrian driver who was horribly burned in a crash at the 1976 German Grand  Prix. Remarkably, he returned to the track six weeks later to keep Hunt from knocking him  from his standing as the number-one ranked drive in the world. The actual outcome of that race is rather anticlimactic in movie terms — Lauda retired from the race — so it will be interesting to see whether Howard can make it pay off dramatically. That said, the film’s September release date — when the film industry is getting into the awards-season mindset in earnest, suggests that he’s found a solution. I’ll be watching. JWoww Knows Hows To Dress

So JWoww was at the airport the other day, and while her outfit isn’t nearly as classy as Sophie Turner’s from yesterday, I’m pretty sure wearing a track suit counts as dressing up if you’re from Jersey. Anyway, I’m just glad to see JWoww didn’t pack away her cleavage for the trip. Now this is a girl you want to go flying with, she’s even got her own personal floatation devices. I’d hang onto those things for dear life. Sam Cooke Fits In A Bikini Nicely

Because I know how much you guys love hot British nobodies, we’ll keep ‘em coming with these bikini pictures of Sam Cooke . Sam’s a former Page 3 Girl, and done shoots for a lot of magazines across the pond, but for some reason she still hasn’t made in big in America. ‘Jersey Shore’ Season Five Trailer: Home Sweet Home

Castmates return to New Jersey after Italian vacation for the new season, which premieres January 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. By James Dinh “Jersey Shore” castmates celebrate their return to Seaside Photo: MTV After spending some fish-out-of-water time across the pond in Italy, the “Jersey Shore” gang is heading back to their Seaside Heights stomping ground for the fifth installment of the MTV series , premiering Thursday, January 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. And after a quick glimpse at the just-released trailer , it appears as if the GTL crew is ready for tons of partying, booze and, of course, drama. “Shore” is expected to pick things up where the season-four installment ended, as the eight housemates bid farewell to Florence, Italy, and prepare for their New Jersey return. In the two-minute teaser, the fist-pumping crew toasts to yet another crazy summer and is later greeted to what looks like a surprise welcome-home party. “We’re back in our habitat and I’m ready to tear the speakers off this joint,” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino yells. Despite Snooki and Deena’s meatball escapades, the usual club dance battles and pranks galore, it isn’t all fun times for the gang — especially when Vinny decides to depart the Seaside Heights house. “This is real. This is a reality right here. Vinny’s out of here,” Pauly D says during a confessional after his castmate’s departure. As teased during the previous season, the battle between Snooki and the Situation shows no signs of slowing down. With his badgering comments about the pint-size guidette’s boyfriend, the Situation doesn’t appear apologetic about playing the part of an instigator, saying, “I do have that secret and I’m blowing it wide open.” While one scene depicts the two castmates in the middle of a food fight, another scene shows the Snookster swatting a plastic baseball bat at the womanizer. MTV News caught up with Deena earlier this year, who spoke about her time back in the States. “All of us became so close,” she said of their European vacation. “So here, it really was like we were brothers and sisters. You get annoyed with each other, then you’re fine. But you’ll see, we had a lot of fun in Jersey; we had so much fun. We were home, we were comfortable.” The fifth season of “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday, January 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
