Barraza/WENN.com  When Under Armour and A$AP Rocky revealed their upcoming collaboration SRLo  sneakers last month everyone immediately noticed that the kicks were dead ringers for the skater classics Osiris D3 ‘s. But since the creators of the originals didn’t make a fuss about it everyone went about their business. However, things changed this past weekend and for whatever reason Osiris decided to call out Pretty Flacko and UA for biting their silhouette and took to the ‘Gram to remind everyone “who dropped it first.” The Osiris D3’s originally dropped in the early 2000’s and became a sneaker staple for skaters all across the board. When commenters tried to imply that the Rocky had worked with skater Dave Mayhew, whom many say originally designed the D3’s, Osiris quickly shot that down saying, “nope he didn’t. Brian Reid is the designer of the D3.” So much for that theory. Regardless of who A$AP Rocky worked with or who actually designed the sneaker, Osiris isn’t happy with the A$AP and Under Armour collaboration nor should they be. The SRLo is basically the Osiris D3 ‘s and if Osiris isn’t getting a piece of the pie for something they cooked up a decade and change ago, that’s going to rub them the wrong way. This must be how Gucci felt when Jay-Z and Reebok dropped the S. Carter ‘s in 2003.

WENN Stephen Belafonte Needs Visitation Of Step-Daughter In Divorce Stephen Belafonte filed paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court amid his divorce war with the Mel B . Belafonte claims he’s the de facto dad to Mel B’s daughter with Eddie Murphy, so he made a formal request for stepparent visitation on Friday. In his declaration to the court, Belafonte notes that he started dating Mel B when her daughter with Murphy was only one month old. He has spent the last decade raising the child as his own, and because of this, he argued for future visitation. The 10-page declaration states, “By all intents and purposes, I am Angel’s father.” “I believe my request for stepparent visitation is in Angel’s best interests, as Angel has been accustomed to spending time with me and sees me as the only father figure in her life,” he said. Belafonte presented proof of this with the fact that Angel calls him “daddy” and also tells him via text messages that she loves him. He says that there is no financial motivation, and his only desire with the divorce is to not hurt his step-daughter.

Man Not Charged After Threatening Black City Council President A raging racist has escaped charges after threatening a black LA City Council President reports LA Times . Wayne Splinder submitted a hate-filled card during a public meeting with a burning cross and racial slurs aimed at Herb Wesson. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said the card submitted by Encino attorney Wayne Spindler, which labeled City Council President Herb Wesson with a racial slur, was “deeply offensive, morally wrong and socially reprehensible,” according to a memo released Thursday. The card submitted by Spindler on May 11 showed the burning cross and a man hanging from a tree — images typically associated with the Ku Klux Klan — and appeared to depict a KKK figure holding a sign that stated, “Herb = [N-word].” Wesson, who is African American, was presiding over the day’s committee meeting held in Van Nuys. Two days later, officers arrested Spindler, 46, on suspicion of making threats against Wesson. Community leaders denounced the drawings as a hate crime. And the city’s lawyers obtained a restraining order barring Spindler from coming near Wesson’s home, vehicle or city office, but allowing him to speak at public meetings. Mexican Superstar Singer-Songwriter Juan Gabriel Dead At The Age Of 66 Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel has passed away after entertaining generations of people for years according to NPR reports Juan Gabriel, a singular superstar who transcended borders and the trappings of gender with meticulously crafted pop songs and a flamboyant showmanship that earned the nickname the “divo of Juarez,” has died, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Juan Gabriel was 66 years old and he was found at a residence in Santa Monica with no apparent foul play. Mexican President Enrique Peña-Nieto tweeted his condolences calling him one of the country’s “greatest musical icons.” “His music is a legacy for the world,” Peña Nieto said. “He has left us too soon. May he rest in peace.” Juan Gabriel wrote pop songs and rock songs. He sang with mariachis and full-blown orchestras, producing dozens of hits. Other artists recorded his songs and on occasion he recorded theirs. He recently covered Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Have You Ever Seen the Rain. Juan Manuel Caipo, who produced that album, said it showed what a chameleon the singer-songwriter was. Caipo says in that sense Juan Gabriel was a lot like Prince. LA Cop Who Beat Girlfriend And Set Her Hair On Fire Sentenced To Six Months In Jail An ex Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to one year in jail this week for brutally beating his girlfriend and setting her hair on fire according to ABC 7 News : The Orange County District Attorney wanted Alejandro Flores to serve his time in state prison, but the judge overruled the request, sparking outrage from the victim. While the formal sentence was for one year, Flores is expected to spend only six months in jail under state sentencing guidelines. The 34-year-old stood emotionless as he listened to his son’s mother speak about the violence. “He pushed me against the stove yelling, ‘Is this what you want?’ At that point, he turned on the gas burner, setting the my hair on fire,” said the victim, who did not want to be identified. As she read her victim-impact statement, she urged the judge to issue a stiffer sentence. “Alejandro chose a career in law enforcement to protect and serve. Apparently, that doesn’t cross to his personal life and the sentence confirms it,” she told the courtroom. The victim said there had been violence before, all of which occurred in front of their young son. Flores pleaded guilty to nine felony counts, including using a gun to threaten his then girlfriend not to leave after the violence. The victim said her close encounter with death that day gave her strength to leave and report abuse. WTF?!?!

Well that man has been revealed as Dr. Kastan Sims, a general dentist from her hometown in Memphis. A Meharry Medical School grad, Dr. Sims practices in the city where they apparently connected and fell in love. And now according to K, they’re so in love that they’re ready to start a family. All the while K’s been proudly flaunting her new relationship, someone (of course) has been  trying to rain on her parade. Cops Kill People: LAPD Guns Down A Teenager After He Allegedly Shot At Them

LAPD Killed 14-Year-Old Suspect After He Allegedly Shot At Them Another day, another cop catches a body. Via CNN Los Angeles police shot and killed a 14-year-old boy after he shot at the officers, police said Wednesday. The department’s gang unit was investigating a vandalism call in a neighborhood east of downtown around 5:35 p.m. Tuesday when they encountered two youths. One ran off and two officers pursued, police said. “According to a witness who saw the subject running from the officers, the witness saw the subject shoot a handgun in the direction of the pursuing officers,” said LAPD Deputy Chief Robert Arcos during a news conference. “While the loss of life is always tragic, it is particularly so when the loss involves a youth.” Oh, so the LAPD thinks killing people is tragic? Interesting… The teenager, identified as Jesse James Romero by the Los Angeles County Coroner, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other suspect did not flee police and he was questioned and released. Neither officer was harmed, but they heard a gunshot as they were rounding the corner, Arcos said. One of the officers then fired back and killed Romero, Arcos said. A loaded handgun was recovered by the teenager’s body but it was too soon for investigators to determine whether it had been fired or whether it had been used by Romero, Arcos said. OH!
