Lauren Gray on American Idol: The One and Only?

Lauren Gray delivered a black-and-white audition on American Idol last night, leaving little for the judges and viewers to even debate. She was awesome! Lauren Gray American Idol Audition This Arkansas native – who works in her family’s one-stop wedding business by day, and sings in her family’s rock band at night – did Adele proud by covering her single “One and Only.” The look on Jennifer Lopez’s face in the following video really says it all about this crooner, as does J. Lo’s appropriate response when Lauren says “This is the biggest thing that’s ever happened in my life.” “It won’t be the biggest thing ever.” Gray is off to Hollywood, and so are two other standouts from St. Louis: Johnny Keyser and Reis Kloeckener .

T.I. Returns To Halfway House

Tip set to be released from the facility on September 29, lawyer confirms to MTV News. By Rob Markman T.I. (file) Photo: Moses Robinson/ WireImage T.I. is halfway home. After being sent back to a federal lockup on August 31 — just as he was making his way via luxury tour bus to a post-jail facility — T.I. has now been cleared to finish the remainder of his 11-month sentence in an Atlanta halfway house as originally intended. On Thursday (September 15), the rapper’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, told MTV News that Tip is currently in the halfway house, where he will remain until September 29. If all goes according to plan, the ATL rapper will have completed his current prison bid for a probation violation that stems from a September 2010 arrest for drug possession . “[T.I.] went through a disciplinary hearing held before the ‘Center Disciplinary Committee’ (composed of Community Corrections-halfway house-staff) who recommended that he be returned to the halfway house,” Sadow confirmed in an emailed statement. “We have good reason to believe that this favorable result was reached because of the pro-active and assertive approach taken to protect T.I.’s rights by providing [Federal Bureau of Prisons] officials and the media with reliable and accurate information that T.I. did not intend to violate his transfer furlough or any other [Federal Bureau Prisons] rules en route from the prison facility in Arkansas to the halfway house in Atlanta,” Sadow told TMZ. “T.I. will be released from the custody of the [Federal Bureau Prisons] on September 29th, and then will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for a period of one year.” Last month, the B.O.P. allowed Tip to provide his own transportation from the Arkansas prison where he was being held to the aforementioned Atlanta halfway house. The Trap Muzik MC’s decision to ride in a luxury tour bus was widely reported as the reason he was sent back to prison; several sites said the bus was deemed an unacceptable mode of transportation. Upon his arrival at the halfway house, T.I. was taken back into federal custody. Last week, TMZ published an incident report that clarified why T.I.’s first trip to the halfway house was actually cut short. According to the report, T.I. was on the bus last month with his wife, his manager and two VH1 producers. His manager and the television producers, however, were not authorized to be aboard the vehicle. The document also suggested that T.I. was conducting business during the interstate ride — a violation of his furlough. Still, Sadow contended that his client hadn’t violated any previous agreements and that the disciplinary committee agreed. Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: T.I. T.I. Moved From Halfway House To Undisclosed Location

Officials cite ‘transportation issue’ following his ride to halfway house in a luxury tour bus on Wednesday. By Gil Kaufman T.I. Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images T.I. barely had enough time to unpack his things at a halfway house in Atlanta before Federal Bureau of Prisons officials moved him to another location on Thursday. The rapper’s lawyer confirmed for The Associated Press that the MC has been moved from the halfway house he entered on Wednesday to another, undisclosed location because of a “transportation issue” involving T.I.’s use of a luxury tour bus to the facility. On Wednesday, T.I. was released from a federal prison in Arkansas to the community living facility in Georgia, where he was slated to serve out the rest of his 11-month sentence for probation violation. He was followed by VH1 cameras on his journey as part of a reality show slated to air in December that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at his life with wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris. Lawyer Steve Sadow did not specify why T.I. (born Clifford Harris) was moved, but said the action was not drug-related and that he was working to resolve the situation. “There appears to be confusion surrounding the method of transportation,” Sadow said. T.I. left the Forrest City low-security prison in Arkansas in the tinted-window bus, which was followed by four other vehicles. “The storm is over & da sun back out. IT’S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!!” the rapper tweeted shortly after his release. “Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!” CNN reported that T.I. was moved to the U.S. penitentiary in Atlanta on Friday. Sadow said Tip had offered to provide his own transportation between Arkansas and Georgia, but officials apparently objected to the use of the bus (and an attendant entourage of private SUVs) and were reviewing if it may have violated his furlough agreement. T.I.’s Final Message From Prison

See more here:

As we previously reported, T.I. is expected to be released from prison in Arkansas in September. Tip’s final letter to the fans from prison hit the net yesterday. Check out what the King of the South had to say: What up world? This will be my last message from Forrest City. Just reaching out and sending my love, respect and appreciation to all who have been ridin’ with me throughout this chapter in my life and not just recently but since all the things started happening one after another back in ’06. From Big Phil’s murder to my beautiful little angel Leiah being called home to heaven, to my arrest in ’07, the 1st prison sentence in ’09, to this last journey that I’m nearing the end of. A lot of people who are aware of all that has happened to me in my life say that there aren’t many men who could have endured and withstood so much pain, pressure and turmoil while managing to remain sane and keep their wits about them. I must say that I wouldn’t have been able to do so without God’s grace and having a strong support system behind me every step of the way. So often we spend time acknowledging the presence of “haters” and all the negativity they send our way but we don’t take the time to acknowledge and appreciate all the ones who love and support us and supply us with the positive energy we need to overcome. We complain about the pain so much that we don’t even notice how much stronger, wiser and better of a person the suffering has allowed us to become. I heard Pac say once “To live is to suffer and to survive is to find meaning in that suffering.” I later found out it came from an author by the name of Friedrich Nietzsche. When I heard Pac say that it was just some hard shit to hear your favorite rapper say before he kicked a verse. Now that I’ve gone through it and grown from it those words have a real true meaning to me. I know this won’t be my last battle with adversity but it has truly prepared me for whatever else may come in the future. For that also I’m thankful. Now it goes without saying that I hate I had to come back to prison for these 10 months but I am truly grateful for the knowledge, growth and understanding I’ve received from the experience. Next time you hear from me I’ll be back out there with you. Doing for those who can’t do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard. When I touch down, I’m going all the way back to square one, like I’m fresh in the game and never sold a record. Back on some I’M SERIOUS, TRAP MUZIK shit… But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it. I’ll be back at you in a minute. – KING T.I. Gets A September 29th Release Date T.I. Hi Hater: Arkansas Grocery Store Blocks Elton John’s Us Weekly Cover

Correct us if we’re wrong, but this IS 2011, right? And Arkansas is one of these 50 United States, right? Where there are no laws against public displays of homosexuality, right? You can just see the rim of Elton John’s black glasses, his bushy eyebrows behind them and a mop of excellently dyed strawberry blond hair. Beside him is the dark receding hairline of his partner David Furnish and behind them the masthead of the magazine US Weekly. And that’s all you’re allowed to see. The rest is obscured by a slap of grey plastic with the words: “Family shield. To protect young Harp shoppers.” That’s life in the small town of Mountain Home, in northern Arkansas. The manager of the Harps supermarket decided the image was offensive and applied the store’s censorship policy normally reserved for the likes of Playboy or other pornographic magazines. What the cover shows, when the shield is removed, is John and Furnish grinning rather woodenly, fully clothed, as they hold their new surrogate son – Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. “Elton’s baby! At home with Elton John, David Furnish and baby Zachary,” is the cover line, and it doesn’t get any more obscene than that. The censorship was brought to the world’s attention by Jennifer Huddleston, a local shopper, who took a cell-phone photograph. Then she posted the picture on her Twitter feed with the words “This was taken at my local grocery store. I was shocked and horrified. Can you help bring attention to this?” The tweet was passed around, first locally and then more widely, until it was picked up by gay and lesbian campaign groups and the media. In later tweets, Huddleston made clear that she was an Arkansas patriot. “I love Arkansas. I hate to see this sort of thing happen here or anywhere,” she wrote. For good measure, she also added the phone number of the Harps store, which was swamped with protest calls. For once, this is a story with a happy ending. By this morning Harps headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, which runs 65 stores, had told the Mountain Home outlet to remove the shield and free John and Furnish from censorship. The president issued a statement in which he announced that the shield had been removed and that said the company did not want to offend anybody. Do you feel the store was wrong to censor the cover?? Or wrong to change its stance on the issue? View This Poll customer surveys Source
