Kodak Black Calls First Dibs On ‘Widowed’ Lauren London, T.I. Hints That He’ll Trap Muzikally Maul Him Into Dust Bunny Bits

Source: Mike Coppola / Getty Kodak Black Says He Will Give Lauren London “A Year” To Grieve Before He Shoots His Shot Florida river cricket Kodak Black is out here disrespecting the late-great Nipsey Hussle in the worst way. The rapper who was recently asked to submit DNA in his ongoing teen rape case , posted a video to his Instagram Live, showing him chopping it up with his boys and openly talking about Lauren London and his plan of giving her “a year” to grieve before he shoots his shot and tries to bag her. Black tells his friends that he’s willing to give her a whole year of “crying and s***” before he makes any potential moves on her. In the video , he calls Lauren “that baby” and a “whole widow out here,” while also joking that he’ll be the best man he can be to bag her next. “Lauren London dat baby though,” said Kodak. “She about to be out here single. She finna be a whole widow out here. I be the best man I could be for her. I give her a whole year, she might need a whole year to be crying and s***.” One of his friends asks if he’s shooting his shot, but he claims that he’s just being friendly, and wouldn’t mind being a shoulder for her to lean on and that she “can call my line.” Having only been a week since Nipsey was murdered, you would think Kodak would have a little more respect? Guess not. Instead, it looks like “heartbreak Kodak” has no regrets. EXCLUSIVE: Kelly Rowland On The Power Of Loving Your ‘Crown And Glory’

Original post:

Source: Robin L. Marshall / Getty Images For Dove As Black women, many of us can remember that exact moment when we were painfully reminded that our hair was different. Mine happened at the predominately white elementary school I attended in the late 80s. All of us students were working on an art project with colored pencils we had to swap out for news ones at our teacher’s desk. I was really feeling myself that day because I had gotten my hair pressed over the weekend. It was laid, luxurious and smelling like fresh Pink Oil Lotion. I remember sitting at my desk, tapping those smooth pencils on the side my head as I pondered how to create my masterpiece. When I was done, I returned my pencils, feeling confident that my design was amazing. But a few minutes later that all changed when I heard someone loudly ask, “Why are these pencils so greasy?” My nemesis, who I will call Melissa, quickly told the class, “That’s because Kellee put them in her hair.” The room erupted in laughter. I was devastated. Having that straight hair made me feel like I had finally fit in with the Colleens and Beckies of the fourth grade. And yet in that instant, their cruelty had my facade crashing all the way down. It’s funny, because it’s been over a decade since the last time I’d even thought about that horrible day. But when I first heard Kelly Rowland’s recent song “Crown,” I was instantly brought back to that time. See, this collaboration with Dove is an empowering anthem aimed at young girls, reminding them that their hair is wonderful, glorious and amazing as is. And the video includes young girls from around the country who have been punished and even suspended for how they chose to rock their tresses. Seeing “Crown’s” images and hearing its lyrics made me wish I had something like this when I was younger, a singer to tell that ashamed little Black girl that her hair was “beautiful in every color. Long, short, straight or curly.” Now if I, a grown woman at 40-years-old, can be inspired by this, I can only imagine the impact it’s having on girls and young women who are coming into their own living in a world of the pressures of Instagram and Snapchat. This is why what Kelly is doing is so important. She is using her God-given gift to do her part to help shape the way girls see themselves and the world around them. And for little Black girls (and women), these messages are especially needed, given the complicated relationship we have with our hair and how often our bodies and hair are overpoliced at school, the workplace and beyond . In addition to the song, Kelly’s taking the message to the streets with community events aimed at bolstering girls’s self-esteem. Last month in downtown Los Angeles, Kelly co-hosted a Dove Self-Esteem Workshop with more than 30 girls from the Boys and Girls Club in attendance. The special workshop, which took place on Feb. 19, offered numerous confidence tips, an interactive conversation and ended with a runway show with the girls showing off the paper crowns they decorated. HelloBeautiful recently caught up with Kelly to discuss her personal story behind “Crown,” why representation matters and tips on overcoming our own hair issues.

Michelle Duggar: Does She Even Know How to Cook?

For years, fans of the Duggar family have wondered just how much parenting Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar do in a given day. We know that’s an odd question to ask of a couple who’s raised 19 children, and the obvious answer would seem to be “a lot.” But over the years, Jim Bob and Michelle have spent a lot of time traveling and tending to their many business ventures while their household seemingly ran itself. But it didn’t run itself, of course. A tremendous amount of work went into clothing and feeding so many children — but much of it was done by the Duggar children themselves. Much has been made of how many chores Jana Duggar seems to do around the home, but she’s certainly not alone. All of the older Duggars help out around the house, especially in the kitchen. In fact, some fans claim there’s evidence that Michelle hasn’t done any cooking of her own in years. Indeed, it’s difficult to find any indication that Michelle spends much time in the kitchen these days. Though to be fair, she’s admitted in the past that it wouldn’t be possible to feed such a large brood if everyone didn’t pitch in. “Some of the boys are really good cooks. They have lots of fun getting in there and being creative,” Michelle once wrote in a blog post. “We usually have teams of three or four kids that’ll work together on the cooking. … There’s a leader and then the rest of them follow the instructions of the leader.” In the same post, Michelle went into detail regarding the challenges of grocery shopping for such a sizable family. “Our goal for our monthly food budget is $3,000. It used to be more like $2,000, but we’ve noticed the costs of groceries have gone up,” she wrote.  “For groceries, we mainly shop at discount grocery stores, warehouse clubs and co-ops. You can save thousands of dollars by doing just that,” she added. “We buy mostly in bulk and stock up once a month on staples like butter, cereal and oats–it’s just cheaper.” Michelle says that out of necessity, she does all of the grocery shopping, as budgeting remains a challenge, even as the older kids leave the house and start families of their own. As for the actual cooking, Michelle admits to receiving a considerable amount of help from her offspring. And tellingly, she’s dodged questions about whether she knows how to cook at all. Fans have made much of the Duggars’ bizarre dinner concoctions over the years, with descriptors such as “prison food” being thrown about frequently. So is it possible that such odd combinations as barbecue sauce and canned tuna are a result of the fact that no one in the house really knows their way around a kitchen? We may never kniow for sure, but it would certainly explain a lot. View Slideshow: Duggar Family: Secrets of Their Twisted Ministry Revealed

Milo Ventimiglia: This Is Us Is REALLY Coming to an End!

If you haven’t heard by now, I am so sorry to ruin your Thursday.  This Is Us is reaching its final stretch  and will soon be over.  Showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Dan Fogelman say that the beloved NBC series will wrap up after Season 6.  “We’ve got multiple seasons mapped out,” Fogelman tells outlets, which is currently halfway through season 3.  And while we still have some time left with the Pearsons, the end is near. Milo Ventimiglia opens up on Thursday’s episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show about the recent crushing news around  This Is Us. “We never know where we are going to go. We never know what’s going to happen,” Milo shares. But he assumes that Season 6 will be the ultimate goodbye.  “The show could have a huge spike in season six and everybody wants more beyond that. But I think creatively, they have an idea of what they’d like to do to kind of wrap it up in this nice story.”  And while of course, we would prefer more, the peaceful ending they supposedly have in mind sounds interesting too. I guess. Milo reassures fans by saying, “At least the audience knows, the fans know, they’re going to get three more seasons, which is nice we can commit.” “It’s not like, will it be on? Won’t it be on? But then beyond that, yeah, maybe there will be more. I don’t know.” *mentally preparing ourselves for the climactic farewell*  Aptaker says, “I would hope it’s elegant. That’s what we’re going for.” He adds: “I would hope that when we reach our ending, people think it’s really a satisfying end place, that makes sense, and it feels like they’ve watched something that is a complete piece of work because that’s really how we’re trying to plan it.” Last May, star Mandy Moore even opened up to Entertainment Tonight about how “parts of the ending have been shot.”  This Is Us has also admitted to filming scenes for the SERIES finale in order to preserve the actors’ ages.  Aptaker further revealed that everyone on the show knows where their storyline ends. “The show won’t overstay its welcome, we have a story to tell, we want to do this the right way,”  he says.  It’s all too real, tissues please.  View Slideshow: This Is Us Finale: 8 Times We Cried Our Eyes Out

Peter Tork Dies; The Monkees Guitarist was 77

Peter Tork was the wise-cracking guitarist for the 1960s teen-pop sensation, The Monkees. Sadly, he has now passed away. Tork was 77 years old. The Washington Post reports that Peter Tork passed away on Thursday, February 21. Tork’s sister, Anne Thorkelson, did not specify her brother’s cause of death. However, the guitarist was diagnosed with adenoic cystic carcenoma, a rare form of cancer, in early 2009. Tork had received extensive treatment, using both surgery and radiation, in 2009 to combat the slow-growing head and neck cancer. It is unclear what role that serious heatlh crisis may have played in his death 10 years later. Tork’s friends, family, and colleagues released a statement on his official Facebook page. “It is with beyond-heavy and broken hearts that we share the devastating news” “that our friend, mentor, teacher, and amazing soul, Peter Tork, has passed from this world” “Please know that Peter was extremely appreciative of you, his Torkees.” After being recommended by a man who failed his audition, Peter Tork auditioned for The Monkees . He joined the pop-rock group called The Monkees, a then-fictional band created for the eponymous sitcom. Though Tork was an accomplished musician, he and the band’s other three members did very little with instruments in their early albums. Over time, he would play the bass guitar, keyboards, harpsichord, and banjo during the band’s recordings. His character on the television series was a “lovable dummy,” a role that endures across multiple genres because it is so endearing to audiences. The Monkees , the television sitcom, ran from 1966 to 1968. The band by the same name, however, played from 1966 to 1971. As a group, they produced six albums, four of which went to Number 1 on the Billboard chart. Peter Tork did leave the band before it was officially disbanded. Though the group had hoped to perform more together, ultimately they had musical differences. Tork also said that the filming schedule, and the way that it cut down on his time to actually work on music, exhausted him. Despite the band officially disbanding in the early 1970s, the group has held multiple reunions and reunion tours. With the The Monkees playing in syndication, they found reborn cultural relevance in the Twenty-First Century. Tork made his last appearance with the band in 2016 as they played at the Pantages in Hollywood. Without him, the two surviving members of the band, Nesmith and Dolenz, went on the road as a duo in 2018. At the time, they were vague about Tork’s personal reasons for not traveling with them. Tork released a statement to Rolling Stone to explain his distance from his former bandmates. “I have in general made no secret of the fact that all these recent years of Monkees-related projects, as fun as they’ve been,” Tork began. He continued: “have taken up a lot of my time and energy.” ” Moving forward, I have blues projects that I want to give my attention to. .. I’m shifting gears for now,” he admitted. “But I wish the boys well,” Tork concluded. “And I’ve learned to never say never on things further down the line. ” View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam Countless fans are heartbroken over the passing of Peter Tork. His cultural impact spanned generations — and so did his career. We will keep his loved ones in our thoughts during this difficult time.
