Better Call Saul Trailer: Who is Jimmy McGill?!

Christmas has come early for Breaking Bad fans. The first trailer for the highly-anticipated BB spinoff Better Call Saul dropped today, and as you might have guessed it prominently features Bob Odenkirk’s fan favorite…Jimmy McGill? Yes, as obsessive Bad fans know, Saul Goodman is not Saul Goodman’s real name, but rather a Don Draper-esque nom de business that he felt would help him score clients and shed his loser-y past. Better Call Saul takes place before Jimmy adopted his semitic alias (“for the homeboys who want a member of the tribe”) but as you can see in this clip, the ambulance-chasing attorney is still all about that day of atonement: Better Call Saul Trailer From the looks of things, Saul will be more lighthearted in tone than its source material. Then again, the Adventures of Walt and Jesse started off darkly comedic, before going to a place where the show offered the occasional laughs, but could hardly be described as a comedy. Of course, it might be a good thing for Saul to distinguish itself as its own, standalone series right out of the gate. Some critics have called Breaking Bad the best drama of all time , and Saul runs the risk of being crushed under the weight of fan expectations before its pilot even airs. Having Jimmy go by his birth name (at least in the pilot) is a good way of establishing right from the start that this is an entirely different season that simply takes place within the same Meth-Fueled Albuquerque universe as Breaking Bad. Naturally, Better Call Saul will feature cameos from BB characters, (we already know Jonathan Banks’ badass Mike Ehrmantraut will pop up in season one) but hopefully the writers will focus on Jimmy/Saul, and allow Odenkirk to do for smarmy lawyers what Bryan Cranston did for unlikely drug kingpins. Better Call Saul premieres on February 8 at 10 pm on AMC. If that’s too long to wait, you can watch Breaking Bad online at TV Fanatic and/or check our this ingenious BB/Frozen mash-up: Breaking Bad-Frozen Mash-Up

Aaron Paul Responds to Toys R Us Action Figure Removal: What About Barbie?!?

Aaron Paul has some very good points to make about BreakingBadActionFigureGate. Late last week, a Florida woman named Susan Schrivjer started a Change.org petition that called for Toys R Us to remove dolls from its shelves that depicted Paul’s character of Jesse Pinkman and Bryan Cranston’s character of Walter White. Because these Breaking Bad-inspired figures came with bags of meth and cash, Schrivjer wrote that such a “celebration of the drug trade [makes] this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters.” Florida Mom Slams Breaking Bad Action Figure In response, the chain removed the Breaking Bad dolls from its shelves. But Paul has now taken to Twitter in response and even used Schrivjer’s own example against her. “Wait, so @ToysRUs pulled all of the Breaking Bad figures from their shelves and still sells Barbie?” Paul wrote. “Hmmmm…I wonder what is more damaging? “And what about all of the violent video games you sell @ToysRUs ? Do you still sell those? Florida mom really messed it up for everyone.” VERY well played, Aaron Paul. As many have pointed out, the Breaking Bad figures were labeled as being for those over 15 years of age; no toddler… heck, no one unfamiliar with Breaking Bad already… is going to simply select one of these items off the shelves. But Barbie? That doll with unrealistic proportions that sets a terrible example for young women and their body image? The item bought by millions of parents across the country everyday? Where’s the outrage over that? Your move, Florida woman .

BOSSIP Exclusive: Richard T. Jones Talks About His Role In “Godzilla” And Reveals This Time The Black Guy Doesn’t Die First!

The 2014 update of Godzilla opens theaters Friday May 16th. Actor Richard T. Jones Talks To BOSSIP About “Godzilla” Movie BOSSIP had the pleasure of talking to actor Richard T. Jones about his role in the film. Check out our exclusive interview below: BOSSIP: Tell us about your role in the film. Richard T. Jones: I play Captain Russell Hampton, I’m the commander of the Navy vessel that we’re using to track the Mutos to see where they’re going, to figure out what they’re doing, why they’re here, what’s their plan. We’re trying to figure out how to defeat them and prevent further casualties. Is it safe to assume the black guy doesn’t die first this time? I don’t die at all actually. It’s one of those movies where Godzilla is the lead. It’s a Godzilla movie and we’re all riding his back but they hold it down, but Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] and Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe really hold down most of the meat. I just get the good fortune of working with them. As far as sci-fi you previously did “Super 8,” how did the two films compare? Very different, definitely one is more typical sci-fi with the aliens in that sense and JJ Abrams is a monster, so I love him. And with Gareth [Edwards], Gareth is amazing too. They’re similar in bigness and similar in styles, very relaxed and cool and collaborative. Real low egos. You’d expect more ego in these guys, but they have none. Other than that, very big movies, grand in scale, so they’re similar in that sense, but I think they’re very different movies. And very different characters. I was a bad guy in “Super 8″ and I like to think I’m a good guy in this. For people who are fans of the cult classic “Godzilla,” how do you think this will measure up? I think they’ll be ecstatic about this. This is so true to the original but it brings a new element to it I think they’ll be thrilled. The way Gareth introduces Godzilla, the way he shows his heroic side. I think it’s amazing. I think they’re going to flip. What are the challenges as an actor when you’re working with a lot of special effects? After working in “Super 8″ it made it a lot easier to do that. I always tell people it’s kinda like going back to when you were a kid and playing in your room and you can imagine anything. I have kids now and I see them do it all the time, so when I do these types of movies that’s what it reminds me of. You almost have to just try to play, you almost have to do it over the top the first few times and get out of your head. You gotta kinda make fun of yourself and that makes it easier. Have your kids seen the movie? My kids saw it with me yesterday and they loved it. What did you take away from the film? Every time I do a project it’s always about the encounters with the people. I spent a lot of time with Ken [Watanabe] and David [Strathairn] and Sally [Hawkins]. Just sweet individuals. I always take away the experience of working with the different actors and crew members. It’s always good to see the same faces when you do something totally different. When I did “Super 8″ we had the same army instructor, so when I went out to Vancouver he was out there. It’s good to reunite with people. So what do you think? Are you going to see “Godzilla?”
