17 Characters Who Ruined Perfectly Good TV Shows

Event the best TV shows suffer from terrible characters sometimes.  And in one way or another, these 17 TV characters managed to ruin (or nearly ruin) shows that we otherwise loved.  Take a look below to see who they are! 1. Jo Wilson (Grey’s Anatomy) Ugh. Grey’s Anatomy has had its share of annoying characters, but Jo is pretty much the worst. Her character is not only whiny and unlikeable, but focus on her has taken away from characters we’d rather pay more attention to. 2. April Nardini (Gilmore Girls) The addition of April Nardini as Luke’s daughter on GIlmore Girls was WEIRD, and it felt like a forced way to throw a wrench in Luke and Lorelai’s relationship. 3. Stuart Bloom (The Big Bang Theory) There was nothing wrong with Stuart when he first appeared on The Big Bang Theory, but after a while, his presence just become depressing… and creepy. 4. Piper Chapman (Orange is the New Black) The thing about Piper is, we liked her at first. She’s the lead character we followed into Litchfield, and we watched as she adjusted to life in prison. But after the first season? Ugh. She changed for the worse, and now her stories just take away from the rest of the cast. 5. Marissa Cooper (The O.C.) Marissa Cooper was a problem for The O.C. from the very beginning. Even though she was unbearable to watch, other characters managed to keep us coming back. 6. Connor (Angel) Things on Angel really took a turn when Angel and Darla’s son Connor returned as a fully grown teenager, and not in a good way. View Slideshow

Aaron Paul Responds to Toys R Us Action Figure Removal: What About Barbie?!?

Aaron Paul has some very good points to make about BreakingBadActionFigureGate. Late last week, a Florida woman named Susan Schrivjer started a Change.org petition that called for Toys R Us to remove dolls from its shelves that depicted Paul’s character of Jesse Pinkman and Bryan Cranston’s character of Walter White. Because these Breaking Bad-inspired figures came with bags of meth and cash, Schrivjer wrote that such a “celebration of the drug trade [makes] this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters.” Florida Mom Slams Breaking Bad Action Figure In response, the chain removed the Breaking Bad dolls from its shelves. But Paul has now taken to Twitter in response and even used Schrivjer’s own example against her. “Wait, so @ToysRUs pulled all of the Breaking Bad figures from their shelves and still sells Barbie?” Paul wrote. “Hmmmm…I wonder what is more damaging? “And what about all of the violent video games you sell @ToysRUs ? Do you still sell those? Florida mom really messed it up for everyone.” VERY well played, Aaron Paul. As many have pointed out, the Breaking Bad figures were labeled as being for those over 15 years of age; no toddler… heck, no one unfamiliar with Breaking Bad already… is going to simply select one of these items off the shelves. But Barbie? That doll with unrealistic proportions that sets a terrible example for young women and their body image? The item bought by millions of parents across the country everyday? Where’s the outrage over that? Your move, Florida woman .

Toys R Us Under Fire for Breaking Bad Action Figure: Read Bryan Cranston’s Epic Response!

Heisenberg 1, Florida Woman 0. Late last week, Susan Schrivjer of Fort Myers started a Change.org petition to get Toys ‘R’ Us to remove Breaking Bad action figures from its shelves. The items – which featured  Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in Hazmat suits, along with tiny guns, sacks of cash and a bag of meth – are on sale now for $13.99. But it isn’t the price with which Schrivjer takes issue. “Toys R Us is well known around the world for their vast selection of toys for children of all ages,” the documents reads. “However, their decision to sell a Breaking Bad doll, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, alongside children’s toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values.” To date, the petition has over 3,600 signatures. “While the show may be compelling viewing for adults, its violent content and celebration of the drug trade make this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters,” Schrivjer adds. How does Cranston, a four-time Emmy Award winner for his role on this AMC smash, feel about the flap? This is what he Tweeted in response: “Florida mom petitions against Toys ‘R Us over Breaking Bad action figures.’ I’m so mad, I’m burning my Florida Mom action figure in protest.” HA! We love it. Toys ‘R’ Us, meanwhile, issued its own statement in regard to the petition, addressing Schrivjer and writing: “The products you reference are carried in very limited quantities and the product packaging clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up. Items from this TV series are located in the adult action figure area of our stores.” That should pretty much put an end to this controversy, shouldn’t it? Unless some toddler is gonna watch Breaking Bad online , why would he or she even want to own a Walter White doll? Seems easy enough in this case for parents to simply not purchase the item for their kids. Offensive T-Shirts We’d Kind of Love To See 1. Walter White: THG Celebrity of the Year Finalist #9!

It is that time once again, THGers. The time to unveil the finalists for, and eventually the winner of, THG’s prestigious, arbitrary, 7th Annual Celebrity of the Year honor. Between now and the end of 2013, we will be counting down the 10 stars who provided us with the best moments, stories, scandals and entertainment value. We kicked off the countdown earlier with a smoldering Kate Upton at #10. Now we present our Celebrity of the Year Finalist #9 … Walter White! Breaking Bad Clip – I Am The One Who KNOCKS! Strange as it may seem to put a fictional TV character on our year-end list … this is not your average TV character. There will never be another Walter White. Developed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and portrayed by Bryan Cranston, Walt (and later his Heisenberg persona) became iconic. Once a promising chemist and co-founder of a multi-billion dollar company, we first met Walter as a meek, nerdy, down on his luck chemistry teacher. Diagnosed with lung cancer, Walt started cooking crystal meth to ensure his family’s security … only to gradually become more dark and villainous. Cranston won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and will undoubtedly win a fourth in the fall of 2014. His brilliance as Walter over six years was a triumph, and the rise, fall and journey of Walter made Breaking Bad one of, if not the best show in TV history. The dynamic character’s unforgettable run came to a dramatic conclusion in September 2013, earning WW a spot on THG’s Celebrity of the Year list. Follow this link to watch Breaking Bad online , whether you’ve seen it already or not, and check out some of Walt’s many memorable scenes below … Breaking Bad Clip – Say My Name Breaking Bad Clip – Nothing Stops This Train Breaking Bad Clip – Tread Lightly Breaking Bad Clip – Walt Fights Skyler Breaking Bad Clip – Pilot Scene Breaking Bad Clip – I Was Alive

Watch The Vampire Diaries Online: Season 5 Episode 7

The Vampire Diaries’ most recent episode, “Death and the Maiden,” was a doozy. The CW show cleaned house, scrubbing three (3!) peeps out of the confusing picture. At the same time, a familiar face came back from the Other Side. While the events of The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 7 went a long way toward resetting the series in many respects, the fallout may not be over yet. Katherine Pierce? Prognosis is not looking good, girl. Sorry. Sucks to be human sometimes, but hey, it beats being Silas. Want to watch this episode again? Or for the first time if you haven’t seen it?
