Katie Maloney & Tom Schwartz: Our First Wedding Was Fake! Now We’re Getting Married FOR REAL!

We all know that only about 40 percent of reality television bears any resemblance to reality, and the other 60 percent is just badly-scripted primetime soap drama with sufficient product placement to offset the fact that the entire audience is fast-forwarding through the commercials. But usually, major events like weddings are legit occurrences in the lives of the cast members. Which is why Vanderpump Rules fans were shocked to learn this week that Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz are not actually married. Maloney and Schwartz’s wedding was featured on the show back in Season 5. It was a memorable occasion for many reasons, not the least of which is Tom’s baffling decision to bathe in a freakin’ river beforehand. Anyway, it turns out that despite exchanging vows on camera, Tom and Katie are not are not legally wed and never have been. The news was accidentally revealed by Lance Bass of NSync in a recent podcast interview. Bass apparently officiated the recent wedding of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright , and when the topic of Vanderpump marriages came up, he had some surprising things to say about the first SUR couple to tie the knot: “So, yeah, I hope that [Jax and Brittany] are married because we just found out that Tom and Katie are not married,” Bass said. “They did not send in their materials right. So, they are not married.” Bass followed up on his comments during a Good Morning America interview on Wednesday: “Lot of times people forget that I’ve been in entertainment news for the last 15 years,” he said. “So, you know, when there’s pieces of nuggets out there, I’m going to talk about it.” “I didn’t know it was a secret,” Bass added. “I don’t know reality television like that. I apologize, I’m sorry. You’ll just have to watch. You’ll have to see the show to see what really happens.” Uh … casually dropping bombshell information during an interview and then teasing that fans will have to tune in to the show to see how it all plays out? Sounds like Lance understands a lot about reality television. But we digress … The important thing is that it looks as though the upcoming season of Vanderpump will feature not one, but two weddings. E! News has confirmed that Tom and Katie have obtained a marriage license , and based on their latest Instagram activity, it seems the entire VPR cast is currently assembled in Las Vegas. (Well, all except for Billie Lee, who quit the show last week. Of course, it seems unlikely that Katie would’ve invited the SUR hostess, anyway …) Tom and Katie’s second ceremony sounds like a quickie affair, and on the show, it’ll probably be overshadowed by Jax and Brittany’s nuptials. We suppose that’s fair, considering Schwartz and Maloney already had one televised wedding. But hey, at least it’ll spare us from this entire season being devoted to Jax and Brit’s planning process … especially considering that process already ate up a ton of screentime last season. And hey, smart move on Katie’s part getting married in the middle of a desert — it might force Tom to bathe in an actual shower this time! View Slideshow: 37 Classic Vanderpump Rules Moments in GIFs

13 Partners in TV Crime: Choose Your Favorite!

TV is filled with characters who like to get into a little mischief now and again.  These 13 duos come together whether they're on the right side of the law … or not.  Not all of them are in a relationship, but when they work together, they get $hit done.  Have a look below.  1. Sherlock & Joan – Elementary Sherlock and Joan solve crimes on the CBS procedural drama, and they do it very well. They’re probably one of the best partners in crime on the small screen. 2. Lucious and Cookie – Empire These two hate each other most of the time, but the moment their family or company is in peril, they will get themselves into lots of trouble just to keep everyone close to them safe. 3. Veronica and Keith – Veronica Mars This father and daughter duo solve crimes in the terrible town of Neptune, and they’re very good at it. They always get into scary situations, but somehow come out the other side in one piece. 4. Murphy and Emori – The 100 Murphy and Emori could be fighting one minute and then helping each other the next. It’s tiring, but it shows that they can have fun … even at the end of the world. 5. Raj and Howard – The Big Bang Theory These friends get into some of the craziest situations, but their friendship is always stronger when they save themselves. 6. Jessica and Trish – Jessica Jones They were best friends, they argued a lot of the time, but one thing is for certain: They were perfect when it came to solving mysteries. View Slideshow

Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere SHATTERS Ratings Records!

After a wait that felt as long as winter north of the Wall, Game of Thrones returned for its final season on Sunday night. And if you spent the evening cringing when Jon made out with his aunt, or cheering when Bran stared daggers into Jaime’s soul, you certainly had plenty of company. The numbers for the premiere of Game of Thrones Season 8 are in — and they are staggering. Across all platforms (HBO, HBO GO and HBO NOW), a whopping 17.4 million people tuned in on Sunday night. And that number is certain to grow as more viewers return to Winterfell in the days to come. It’s officially GoT’s biggest episode to date, edging out the Season 7 finale , which drew in a then-unbelievable 16.9 million viewers. What may be even more surprising than the multi-platform numbers is the fact that more than 11 million people watched the premiere the old-fashioned way — by sitting down in front of the TV and turning on HBO. That’s the sort of event viewing that rarely happens anymore — and it’s what every network exec prays to the Seven Gods for. It’s also just one of many ways in which Thrones is a throwback juggernaut in the ratings department. These days, even popular shows tend to limp along and lose viewers as they reach the seven or eight season mark. But not Game of Thrones . GoT ratings have been climbing steadily since the very start, beginning with a comparatively paltry 9.3 million in Season 1 and swelling to a whopping 32.8 million for Season 7. (Those figures incorporate delayed viewing, on-demand, and streaming figures.) For comparison, huge network hits like This Is Us and The Big Bang Theory very rarely crack 20 million live viewers — and GoT is putting up similar numbers on a subscription service. In terms of the response from viewers, the premiere was met with overwhelming acclaim. Though there were a few holdouts who seemed to expect more after such a lengthy absence (The Game of Thrones Season 7 finale aired way back in August of 2017.), and felt that the installment had the feeling of a “place-setting” episode that was more concerned with setting the stage for things to come than with delivering an explosive hour of television. And to that we say, [SPOILER ALERT] only Game of Thrones could deliver dragons, zombies, revelations of incest, characters reuniting after seven seasons, and other major characters crossing paths for the very first time — and still have viewers demanding more. Oh, how we’ll miss it when it’s gone. View Slideshow: Game of Thrones Season 8 Photos: Smile, Jon Snow!

Modern Family: It’s Coming to an End!

One of the most successful sitcoms in television history will soon be coming to an end. During her panel discussion at the 2019 Television Critics Association winter press tour on Tuesday, ABC President Karey Burke announced that Modern Family has been renewed for its 11th season. Hooray, right? Yes, but before you pop open that bottle of champagne: It has been renewed for its 11th and FINAL season. Referencing so-creators Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, Burke gushed over the series that has won Outstanding Comedy Series at the Emmys five times. “So proud to announce that Modern Family is returning for its 11th and final season,” Burke said, adding in her statement: “Chris and Steve have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history. “In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss.” Lloyd and Levitan released their own statements on the end of their show’s incredible run as well. First, from Lloyd: For 10 years, our characters have bravely faced turning points in life and moved through them to great personal enrichment; we have chosen a different path by doing one more season of Modern Family. And now from Levitan: Even after 10 years together, we realized there are still some things our writers don’t yet know about each other’s sex lives. As would be the case for any series that has aired for a full decade, ratings have been trending downward of late for the sitcom. Modern Family is averaging 5.1 million total viewers for Season 10, along with a 1.4 rating among 18-49-year olds; down 10 and 15 percent from Season 9 … … yet ranking as ABC’s number-two comedy (behind The Conners) and number-four series overall. Over the years, Modern Family has won 22 Emmys. The comedy has also picked up a Golden Globe… four SAG Award wins for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series… a Peabody Award… two GLAAD Media Awards… two NAACP Image Awards… six WGA awards… four PGA awards… a Television Critics award. And this list doesn’t even include all the individual honors earned by the show’s cast members. It will go down as one of the most decorated programs of all-time. (And it will end a year after another all-time sitcom great, The Big Bang Theory, airs its final episode on CBS this spring.) Modern Family tells the story of the Dunphys and the Pritchetts — and it has maintained a very steady cast through the years. All of the original actors and actresses remain in their roles, in fact, including: – Ed O’Neill as Jay Pritchett – Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy – Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy – Sofia Vergara as Gloria Pritchett – Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell Pritchett – Eric Stonestreet as Cameron Tucker – Sarah Hyland as Haley Dunphy – Nolan Gould as Luke Dunphy – Ariel Winter as Alex Dunphy – Rico Rodriguez as Manny Delgado. Will you miss Modern Family? Or is this the right time for the show to say goodbye?

Lamar Odom: I Had 12 Strokes and 6 Heart Attacks During My Coma!

In 2015,  Lamar Odom's health crisis  terrified his fans, his loved ones, and especially his then-soon-to-be-ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian. Despite the salacious circumstances — he was rushed to the hospital from a brothel, after all — there are still things that we don't know about that scary time. Now, Lamar is opening up about how close things got — and this is one for the medical textbooks. Kevin Hart has a new sports-based comedy series called  Cold as Balls . In it, he sits down with Lamar Odom in icewater — a common tactic for athletes to reduce swelling and to flush lactic acid out of their bodies. For Hart's show, it's just a gimmick. Lamar tells Hart exactly how bad things got during his famous 2015 health crisis. “All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle,” Lamar reveals. Lamar then makes an astounding statement: “I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma,”  12 strokes is more than most entire families have. And he had them while he was in a coma. And, in case it needs saying,  6 is a lot of heart attacks  for one person to have. “Every day, I’m alive,” Lamar says. You know what? He sure is. “It’s much better than the alternative,” Lamar says, stating the obvious. Even if you hold religious convictions that tell you that you have a pleasant afterlife ot anticipate, nobody is in a rush to get there. Life is  life . Lamar says that his “anxiety” and “bad decisions” were two huge factors behind his addiction struggles. But though no one expects an athlete his age to nearly lose his life at a brothel, he says that he was surprised and awed to wake up with Khloe by his side. “That was big,” Lamar reveals. Khloe, as you may recall, brought  their divorce process  to a grinding halt so that she could continue to have spousal visitations and spousal rights while he remained in the hospital. Though he was grateful that Khloe and her family were so supportive during his recovery, he does admit that stress from his role in their family weighed heavily on him. Shacking up with a Kardashian was a huge part of his life, and it had its drawbacks. “It f–ked with my head, bro,” he tells Hart.  “It made it tough to go outside,” Lamar explains. “Every day, waking up, watching TMZ seeing if you’re going to be on it for the wrong reasons.” Some celebrities become consumed by media coverage of them. For someone married to a Kardashian, it's almost mandatory. “It’s not a comfortable feeling,” Lamar understates. In case you need a reminder, Lamar is 38 years old. He was only 35 when this health crisis nearly claimed his life. A combination of his height, the stress that being a professional athlete can put on your body, and some inadvisable choices could have sent him to an early grave. (Seriously, imagine if Khloe were a  widow ) All of this talk about his brush with death is kind of a bummer, and it should be. But can we just say what our favorite part of the interview was? It was when Lamar let Kevin Hart try on his two NBA championship rings.  Hart replies that the rings would fit better on his legs than on his fingers.

Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn Honor Anna Nicole Smith

The world has been very critical of Larry Birkhead's apparent exploitation of his daughter, Dannielynn , accusing him of Anna Nicole Smith's life and death for goodwill. And, of course, for cash. But we've seen less of him, lately. The last time he was really on our radar was, what, when he went on Hollywood Medium ? Now he and Dannielynn — who is now 11 years old — are back in a video (below) showing their adventures together as Anna Nicole's daughter visits the land of her birth: The Bahamas. Anna Nicole Smith was a sweet woman who died too young. After an epic battle in which multiple men claimed paternity of her infant daughter, it was determined that Larry had fathered Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead. Larry hasn't always been viewed as the best father. Notably, he signed Dannielynn up for modeling when she was six years old . (In case you've forgotten, Anna Nicole herself was a troubled ex-model, and it's widely believed that she'd still be alive today if she hadn't been thrust into the spotlight as she was) Dannielynn is 11 years old, now. (Anybody else feeling super old?) And Larry Birkhead decided that it was high time that he take her on a trip to the Bahamas, where she was born. Whether he did it for Dannielynn or to get his face on camera again … well, that's hard to know. But the video's very sweet. In the video, Larry Birkhead does most (nearly all) of the talking to Us Weekly 's cameras as he and Dannielynn explore the Bahamas . “This trip back for Dannielynn is kind of special because she doesn’t really know a whole lot about the place where she was born.” That sounds like a plausible reason to go. “When Dannielynn was little and I used to bring her here, the people used to come out screaming, ‘The people’s princess Dannielynn is here,’ cause it was such a big deal about her birth here, and they embrace her and they come up and ask for pictures and stuff all the time.” Well, it's not Dannielynn's fault that a rich white child getting called a “princess” within the Caribbean is … awkward. Also, a couple of women did ask for a selfie. Larry talks about the wonderful things that Anna Nicole did with her wealth. “She was charitable and she did a lot of things for people that people don’t know.” She was, by all accounts, a total sweetheart. “I’m still getting these cards from kids that she supported overseas and they didn’t know she was Anna Nicole, but they’d come to have found out later.” That is precious. He takes Dannielynn to a pastel pink courthouse. The very courthouse where he won his paternity case. “I remember coming out of this door right here and they said, ‘You can take Dannielynn home to Kentucky or wherever you’re gonna move.’ And I came out, I was so happy.” Larry Birkhead tells the cameras about Dannielynn. “She likes scary movies, like her mom. She likes to do roller coasters and fun things like her mom used to.” She also has a beautiful smile. As for her current interests … they're very age-appropriate. “Dannielynn is more interested in wanting to be a YouTuber and make her own videos, so those are the types of things that she’s interested in.” She's beautiful and young and famous, which describes a lot of YouTubers. (We don't imagine that she's a horrifying racist like certain YouTubers have turned out to be) “I still have to warn her that, you know, your friend might have a YouTube account, but if you have a YouTube account that’s different, because people know who you are.” That is a somewhat clumsily worded version of very good advice. Honestly, if and when Dannielynn gets her own YouTube channel (what a gift that would be), comments might need to be disabled. There are some real creeps who would love nothing more than to upset a famous tween girl. Larry continues describe what it's like being Dannielynn's parent. “Sometimes you feel like a bodyguard, sometimes you feel like a chauffeur.” That's, well, that's what parenting is like. “It depends on what the day is. But my job is dad and I think I’ve done a pretty good job. She’s adjusted to it and she’s just a normal kid.” Dannielynn seems obsessed with her phone, which is relatable  and  age-appropriate. Here's the video in its entirety:

Melissa Rauch: Big Bang Theory Star Opens Up About Miscarriage

In a moving essay published by Glamour today, Big Bang Theory actress Melissa Rauch both announced that she is pregnant and revealed that she suffered a miscarriage. In the candid piece, the 37-year states that she is overjoyed by the prospect of becoming a mom, but continues to struggle with the fear of losing another pregnancy. “Here is the only statement regarding my pregnancy that doesn’t make me feel like a complete fraud: “Melissa is expecting her first child,” Rauch writes. “She is extremely overjoyed, but if she’s being honest, due to the fact that she had a miscarriage the last time she was pregnant, she’s pretty much terrified at the moment that it will happen again.” The actress adds: “She feels weird even announcing this at all, and would rather wait until her child heads off to college to tell anyone, but she figures she should probably share this news before someone sees her waddling around with her mid-section protruding and announces it first.” With humor and admirable frankness, Rauch went on to write that she was filled with conflicting emotions in the months following her first pregnancy, often experiencing pangs of grief when friends would announce that they were starting families. “It’s not that I wasn’t happy for these people, but I would think, ‘Why are these shiny, carefree, fertile women so easily able to do what I cannot?'” She adds: “And then I’d immediately feel guilt and shame for harboring that jealousy—one might call this “the circle of strife.” (A song I imagine is somewhere deep in the extended director’s cut of The Lion King.)” Rauch opens up about the ways in which the loss of an uborn child is unique and requires a unique kind of mourning: “What I realized, though, is that because this kind of loss is not openly talked about nearly as much as it should be, there really is no template for how to process these emotions,” she writes. “You’re not necessarily going to a funeral or taking time off from work to mourn, but that doesn’t change the fact that something precious has been unexpectedly taken from your life.” Rauch concludes the essay with a message of support to other women have endured what she’s endured: “So, to all the women out there who are dealing with fertility issues, have gone through a miscarriage or are going through the pain of it currently, allow me to leave you with this message: You are not alone. And, it is perfectly OK to not be OK right now.” Important words from a strong woman. Read Rauch’s entire essay here . And as always, you can watch The Big Bang Theory online anytime at TV Fanatic.
