Katie Maloney & Tom Schwartz: Our First Wedding Was Fake! Now We’re Getting Married FOR REAL!

We all know that only about 40 percent of reality television bears any resemblance to reality, and the other 60 percent is just badly-scripted primetime soap drama with sufficient product placement to offset the fact that the entire audience is fast-forwarding through the commercials. But usually, major events like weddings are legit occurrences in the lives of the cast members. Which is why Vanderpump Rules fans were shocked to learn this week that Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz are not actually married. Maloney and Schwartz’s wedding was featured on the show back in Season 5. It was a memorable occasion for many reasons, not the least of which is Tom’s baffling decision to bathe in a freakin’ river beforehand. Anyway, it turns out that despite exchanging vows on camera, Tom and Katie are not are not legally wed and never have been. The news was accidentally revealed by Lance Bass of NSync in a recent podcast interview. Bass apparently officiated the recent wedding of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright , and when the topic of Vanderpump marriages came up, he had some surprising things to say about the first SUR couple to tie the knot: “So, yeah, I hope that [Jax and Brittany] are married because we just found out that Tom and Katie are not married,” Bass said. “They did not send in their materials right. So, they are not married.” Bass followed up on his comments during a Good Morning America interview on Wednesday: “Lot of times people forget that I’ve been in entertainment news for the last 15 years,” he said. “So, you know, when there’s pieces of nuggets out there, I’m going to talk about it.” “I didn’t know it was a secret,” Bass added. “I don’t know reality television like that. I apologize, I’m sorry. You’ll just have to watch. You’ll have to see the show to see what really happens.” Uh … casually dropping bombshell information during an interview and then teasing that fans will have to tune in to the show to see how it all plays out? Sounds like Lance understands a lot about reality television. But we digress … The important thing is that it looks as though the upcoming season of Vanderpump will feature not one, but two weddings. E! News has confirmed that Tom and Katie have obtained a marriage license , and based on their latest Instagram activity, it seems the entire VPR cast is currently assembled in Las Vegas. (Well, all except for Billie Lee, who quit the show last week. Of course, it seems unlikely that Katie would’ve invited the SUR hostess, anyway …) Tom and Katie’s second ceremony sounds like a quickie affair, and on the show, it’ll probably be overshadowed by Jax and Brittany’s nuptials. We suppose that’s fair, considering Schwartz and Maloney already had one televised wedding. But hey, at least it’ll spare us from this entire season being devoted to Jax and Brit’s planning process … especially considering that process already ate up a ton of screentime last season. Vanderpump Rules Season 5 Episode 6 was all about pride, in the best possible way in the wake of a national tragedy from this spring. Watch Vanderpump Rules Season 5 Episode 6 Online After terrorism struck the Florida gay community in the form of Omar Mateen , West Hollywood’s pride parade took on even more meaning. Her goal was bringing the community together; Tom and Ariana, meanwhile, struggled to stay together after the worst fight of their relationship. Elsewhere, Stassi planned a birthday trip to Montauk and James began to doubt his friendship with Lala for reasons that aren’t shocking. If you watch Vanderpump Rules online , well, let’s just say that Lala, for all her positive attributes, can play fast and loose with the truth. More than anything, though, this week was about pride. Lisa Vanderpump rode on a float during Pride Day, feeling that it was necessary to bring the community together after such a tragedy. The staff, however, didn’t have quite as much courage. Upon hearing the news of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando , Katie Maloney opted out of working at SUR on this special occasion. That isn’t to say the events didn’t impact her greatly. On the contrary. She met with Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz and Stassi Schroeder at her apartment, where they discussed the terrorism. There were a lot of tears and raw emotions. Tom Sandoval seemed to be the most shaken up, but following their discussion and impromptu group therapy session, he went to work. If you don’t do that, then they win, right? Unfortunately for Tom, this wasn’t the only mental battle he fought this week, as his jealousy over Ariana‘s new bartending book was palpable. This caused one the most surprising – and biggest – fights we’ve ever seen from a couple we love and who is by all accounts so stable. As for Lala, she had her own issues, however. James got frustrated over the fact that Lala’s stories about her rich boyfriend to whom Lala gives good dome are constantly changing. Now that the reports of Bruce Jenner’s sex change have been confirmed , there are a few major questions remaining: The big one that’s on a lot of people’s minds: Is Jenner still attracted to women ? After all, the Olympian-turned-reality-star has been married to three women and fathered six kids. He clearly loves the ladies. But will that change after his transition? One insider close to Bruce says the answer is no. Apparently, Bruce’s sex life will stay just the way it is – nonexistent! “Bruce is not gay,” the source tells Radar Online. “He did not have sex with men while he was Kris and he does not have sex with men now. But Bruce is not going through this transition to be a lesbian either. Sex is the farthest thing from Bruce’s mind right now.” You’d think as a man who’s going through a sex change using money from an empire that was built on a sex tape, sex would be on Bruce’s mind quite a bit, but apparently that’s not the case. If you watched Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 14 then you know that world’s sloppiest cheater Tom Schwartz got caught screwing around on Katie Maloney for the second time this season! To his credit, Tom handles getting busted remarkably well. Both times that he was found out he immediately came clean, and despite some time spent sleeping on the couch, he was eventually able to make things right. It might help that Katie Maloney motorboated a crotch and got away with it. After something like that, how mad can you really get about a couple drunken make-out sessions? Yes, Tom and Katie have been through a lot in recent months, but amazingly, the couple who was once noteworthy only as Vanderpump’s most boring couple, seems to have become stronger through adversity. There are even rumors that Tom and Katie are finally engaged. She was spotted sporting a ring on that finger, but both parties have refused to confirm the news. So while they’re mum on the topic of taking their relationship to the next level (Saving that for a season finale surprise, perhaps?) Tousle-Haired Tom and Tequila Katie will speak openly about his infidelities, as evidenced by their recent Hollywood Life interview: “There was no prior relationship, there was not relationship after,” Tom explains. “I was drunk. It was still terrible, but what happened was pretty innocent.” “Pretty innocent” might be an overly generous description, but Katie seems to agree with Tom’s assessment of the situation: “Why I could get past it is, there wasn’t a romantic relationship after,” Katie says. “There were no emotions involved. Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 saw the crew road trip it for a guys’ weekend in San Diego where, as ANYone could have predicted, Jax cheated on Tiffany. The best/worst part? Tiffany got Jax and his buddies the room as a present. Watch Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 Online Their wild night in San Diego unsurprisingly ended with Jax Taylor railing some girl in the bathroom, according to Tom Sandoval. Jax denies this, but … Jax is also a pathological liar and kind of a little unstable. Just saying. It most likely happened, we’re going to go out on a limb and say, since Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 is far from the first case of shady Jax antics. Given that Tiffany, who works in the hospitality industry, went out of her way to set up Jax, Tom, Peter and the other Tom up, this is even more ridiculous. Jax’s version of events involves less railing, but the girl throwing up in his hotel room’s bathroom after she inappropriately tried to touch him. Anyone buy that? Even that version upset Tiffany, who hung up on him immediately. Are they done for good? We’ll find out soon enough. Are he and Tom Sandoval on the outs again? That’s also a possibility because of Jax’s hypocrisy. Tom believes that had this been anyone else, Jax would be all over them, running his mouth and talking about how they did X, Y and Z to anyone who would listen. You know, like he did with Katie Maloney motorboating crotch . Back in L.A., Scheana Marie spoke with Lisa Vanderpump, obviously, about whether or not to invite Katie to her bridal shower and bachelorette weekend. Either Lisa feels she has to counsel the staff in order to sell the show’s narrative, or the staff are just needy, but she tends to meddle in their affairs quite often. It didn’t go well, as Stassi said she never wants to be friends with her … and called her a gypsy. Yes, Stassi says she won’t miss Scheana Marie or her eyelashes, turban, or leotards. Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 5 Recap: Does Katie Maloney Motorboat Crotch?

Last night on Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 5, Kristen and Tom returned to work at SUR after being suspended, while Stassi was given a big opportunity by Lisa. Meanwhile, Tom Schwartz made a HUGE commitment (well, for him anyway) in hopes of appeasing Katie’s concerns, while she also faced some hard core accusations. What did those consist of, and how did everything go down (sort of literally)? Watch Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 5 Online Picking up where Episode 4 left off, Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 5 saw Schwartz try to get out of the doghouse after quitting his job at PUMP spectacularly. To show he can commit to stuff, while also delaying marriage talks with Katie Maloney, he adopted a rescue dog! Which was silly looking but so, SO cute. So cute, in fact, that she envisioned the puppy as the ring bearer in the wedding Tom desperately wants to avoid thinking about! So that totes backfired! Meanwhile, if you watch Vanderpump Rules online , you know Lisa Vanderpump and Stassi Schroeder are often at odds. Well, this week things are good. In fact, Lisa hired Stassi to be her stylist for a photo shoot, a gesture she felt was generous as the youngster could put the experience on her resume. Yet Stassi didn’t see it that way, feeling Lisa treated her like an assistant and not a professional. Lisa, for her part, felt her former staffer was ungrateful. All of that took a back seat to the drama with Katie and Jax Taylor , however. According to Jax and Scheana Marie, not only is it possible to motorboat someone’s crotch, but Katie did just that, between some unidentified actor’s legs! Jax began relaying that Katie had cheated on Schwartz in this manner, a dubious claim because it’s Jax, a man who lies like he gets pointless nose jobs. Still, Scheana claimed she saw the entire incident, so the rumors spread. Sadly, the actor who supposedly had his crotch motorboated by Katie Maloney was never revealed, but Jax and the accused motorboater had words. When Tom Sandoval , Tom Schwartz and Jax joined Katie for brunch, Sandoval and Jax just grilled her on this alleged incident, while Schwartz did nothing. Seriously. He just freaking sat there while Jax tore his girlfriend a new one. Vanderpump Rules Cast Photos 1. Stassi Schroeder Sassy Stassi is the resident wit on Vanderpump Rules. Beyond whimpering “Bubby” a few times (whatever the heck that means), he did not stick up for his girl one iota … or ask if the rumor was true for that matter. Katie eventually stormed off after getting railroaded by that douche Jax. When Tom Schwartz ran after her, did he at least defend her stance or comfort her? No, he told her that she was basically the instigator in all of this. Now there’s a standup guy. Totes future fiance and husband material.
