Grey’s Anatomy Recap: Another Pregnancy Rocks Grey Sloan Memorial!

There’s a baby boom going on right about now at Grey Sloan Memorial.  Thursday’s episode of this long in the tooth ABC introduced another pregnancy into the mix.  Bailey is the second series regular character to be revealed as pregnant, mere weeks after we learned that Amelia was with child.  Given that this series loves to give fans all the feels, it’s difficult to imagine both of these pregnancies being smooth sailing.  But how did Bailey learn about her own pregnancy? Well, she had the day from hell. Meredith got interviewed by a publication, and her words were twisted.  It sounded like a smear campaign against Grey Sloan Memorial, and all of Grey’s former colleagues were up in arms about it.  For her part, Mer felt terrible and decided to put her freedom at risk to get her point across. Instead of completing community service, she returned to the hospital to let Bailey know everything was taken out of context.  But Bailey was done with her and their friendship.  “I made you study. I made you practice. I was your friend, your mentor and overtime. You needed me, I was there. You can sit there and apologize to me and say all the moving words but the damage has been done,” Bailey said. That was enough for Grey to leave the hospital, but not before she ran into her boyfriend Deluca.  They got into it over Mer ditching community service because she could be sent to jail, but the former surgeon wasn’t in the mood to be talked down to.  “I don’t need this,” she said to him. “If you think there’s a world where I just sit back when everything’s broken and hurting people and killing people, you don’t really know me at all.” The fate of their relationship was left very much up in the air.  As for Bailey, she gave Deluca the Chief Residents’ job, saying that he can fix his girlfriend’s mess, but nobody was happy to have him there.  Bailey ultimately worried that she was having a heart attack, just years after the big scare that almost ended her life.  She turned to Maggie, who ran some tests and revealed that Bailey was perimenopausal and pregnant.  “I heard you, I just don’t understand,” Bailey said.  Elsewhere, Koracick wanted to fix the image of the hospital, and he tried to do so by recording a surgery on a child pro bono.  Jackson did not want cameras in the operating rooms, so he shut it down. He bickered with Tom about it and ultimately told Tom that he was his boss as he owned part of the hospital.  The camera was shut down, and Jackson took on the surgery.  Speaking of Tom, he dropped his order for Owen to stay away from him, but the damage was done.  Owen had agreed to move to Pac North with Alex and Richard.  Wowza.  What did you think of all the action? Alexis Bellino: I’m Not Returning to Housewives! Tamra Judge is MEAN!

Alexis “Jesus Jugs” Bellino really, truly hates that nickname, and the woman who gave it to her: Tamra Judge. While Alexis did make an appearance on The Real Housewives of Orange County , it was only to discuss divorce with Emily Simpson . The former Housewife may have filmed that scene, but she's not coming back. And according to a report by RadarOnline , that is very much by choice. What would keep the recently divorced Alexis from accepting a massive Housewives paycheck? Tamra Judge, apparently. Alexis just can't stand her, and the report explains exactly why.   1. Alexis Bellino could have reclaimed her Orange! “Andy Cohen personally asked Alexis to come back full time this season,” an insider reveals to RadarOnline. 2. Wildly, here was her answer: “But she said no,” the source shares. Not many people are willing to pass up that kind of paycheck. This is especially true of people who were recently divorced. 3. Why TF would she do that? The insider explains that Alexis turned down the offer “because she wants nothing to do with Tamra.” 4. She’s avoiding Tamra like the plague “Tamra runs everyone off the show,” the source characterizes. She can be very supportive to some of her friends, but … yeah, she’s a lot. 5. Apparently it’s not even worth that hefty paycheck “Alexis refused to come back,” the insider reiterates. “Because she won’t be around Tamra.” 6. And yet … she did appear on RHOC “Alexis agreed to film just one scene,” the source notes, referring to Alexis’ sit-down with Emily in which she discussed her life now and how miserable her divorce process was. Grey’s Anatomy Recap: It’s a Charmed Reunion!

Grey’s Anatomy staged a Charmed reunion Thursday night, bringing Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano back together to share the screen.  The pair played sisters Haylee and Heidi of a young woman named Heather, who was left brain-dead following a harrowing fall at a construction site.  While initially in denial about the diagnosis, Richard carried out one last test to give the ladies the closest thing to peace of mind he could.  But in true Grey’s Anatomy fashion, there was some drama thrown in for good measure. Haylee brought crystals along with her because she was under the assumption that she could heal her sister.  Heidi figured it was best to say her goodbyes, and be done with it, but the two sisters couldn’t help arguing because of their distinctly different views on the matter.  Richard had enough and yelled at the two of them to make the decision together, or they would remember this moment for the rest of their lives.  When they agreed that their sister was gone, and Richard switched off her life support machine, Heather’s phone rang.  In a true twist of fate, it turned out that the woman they pulled the plug on was not Heather. Heather’s phone was stolen, leading everyone to believe the brain-dead woman was her.  Yes, really.  Richard had a truly horrible a day as a result and tried to get back in contact with Catherine to check in on her.  But she didn’t answer. That pushed Richard to hang out with Gemma, aka the woman he helped save last season.  They went to dinner! Over at Grey Sloan, Maggie was still cut up about the way Jackson treated her. ICYMI: He went missing and returned with a new girlfriend.  Maggie was struggling to move on, but a new patient named Bertie was determined to help her see the light that everything happens for a reason.  Things got worse when Jackson’s new bae showed up at the hospital for treatment, and Jackson wasted no time in showing off his surgical skills.  This was all too much for Maggie, primarily because of how quickly this new relationship was moving.  Vic tries to speak to Maggie, but it resulted in the most awkward scene to date. Elsewhere, Jo started her first week as a resident, and Dahlia made her feelings clear that she was not happy about performing an ALPPS surgery with anyone other than Meredith Grey.  Heck, Jo felt scared and managed to get Bailey to agree to let Mer be her eyes in the sky, thanks to video chat.  The surgery was a success, all thanks to Jo, but Dahlia was furious that many of the interns came to the hospital because of Meredith, and now they were treating her like a distant memory.  Bailey fired Dahlia on the spot, saying, “Now you and your hero have something in common,” she said. Okay then.  Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays on ABC.  Watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 Episode 3 Online

Todd Chrisley Indicted for Tax Evasion, Reality Show Gets the Axe

Forgive the most obvious pun in content writing history, but… … it turns out that Todd Chrisley does NOT actually know best. Or, perhaps the reality star does know best, if the subject at hand is how to try and avoid paying one’s taxes. This perfect segue is relevant because the veteran USA Network and his wife, Julie, have been indicted by a federal grand jury for tax evasion, as well as other financial crimes, according to local news station WSBTV. The indictment includes a dozen charges. Among the most serious? Wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States. In a statement obtained by People Magazine on Tuesday, Todd’s lawyer, Bruce H. Morris and Stephen Friedberg, said the following: “The allegations contained in the indictment are based on complete falsehoods. The Chrisleys are innocent of all charges.” The embattled couple rose to fame as the patriarch and matriarch of Chrisley Knows Best, a reality show that basically just chronicles their lives — and the lives of their three kids — as very rich residents of Atlanta and then Nashville. It has run for seven seasons and recently debuted a spinoff called “Growing Up Chrisley,” starring a pair of these Chrisley children. According to Radar Online, however, executives have chosen not to sign Todd and Julie to new contracts, effectively canceling their long-running series. This website source claims producers have “decided to distance themselves as much as possible” from Todd and Juli,e as well as their children Savannah, Chase and Grayson. For the record, though, USA has not yet issued a statement to confirm this move. In an Instagram post Monday, a day before the 12 charges were filed, Todd insisted that he and his wife had done nothing wrong. He wrote a lengthy message that started as follows: “I’ve never talked about this publicly before, but there’s been a cloud hanging over Julie and me and our entire family for the past seven years. It all started back in 2012, when we discovered that a trusted employee of ours had been stealing from us big time.” While Chrisley said that he wouldn’t “go into details,” he alleged that the case “involved all kinds of really bad stuff like creating phony documents, forging our signatures, and threatening other employees with violence if they said anything.” And he continued: We even discovered that he illegally bugged our home. Needless to say, we fired the guy and took him to court — and that’s when the real trouble started. To get revenge, he took a bunch of his phony documents to the U.S. Attorney’s office and told them we had committed all kinds of financial crimes, like tax evasion and bank fraud. That got their attention all right, but once we had a chance to explain who he was and what he’d done to us, they realized it was all a bunch of nonsense and they sent him on his way. After delving into a few other details about how this indictment came to be, Todd concluded: “We know we’ve done nothing wrong… “I’m telling you all this now because we have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of. Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that proves it.” Shortly after Todd released this statement, daughter Savannah Chrisley left a supportive comment. “Thank you for being YOU! You have and always will be the glue that holds us all together. God has a much bigger plan for all of us and this is just part of it,” she wrote. We can’t say for sure whether or not Chrisley is guilty. But he’s just the latest wealthy reality star to get in trouble with the law over major financial issues. Both Abby Lee Miller of Dance Moms and Teresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey spent time in jail for their roles in illegal monetary schemes.

13 TV Couples With Absolutely No Chemistry

Some TV couples suck. There , we said it.  Despite trying to push some couples to endgame status, some are very clearly not that into each other.  The Hollywood Gossip has rounded up 13 couples who have a grand total of zero chemistry.  Sorry … not sorry.    1. Kara and Mon-El – Supergirl Mon-El was one of the worst characters on Supergirl, and it was largely because the producers tried to put force them together. Mon-El was officially exiled from the series about a year after his debut. 2. Jackson and Maggie – Grey’s Anatomy Jackson and Maggie were believable as friends, but not so much as a couple. They need to give up on their relationship, or they run the risk of not being friends ever again. 3. Ray and Felicity – Arrow On a show that’s all about the relationship between Oliver and Felicity, Felicity’s short-lived relationship with Ray felt like a mere plot device to throw in some drama. There was a severe lack of chemistry between the characters. 4. George and Izzie – Grey’s Anatomy George pursued Izzie pretty much from the get-go on Grey’s Anatomy, but there was nothing there, and fans picked up on that. It’s just a shame that Shonda Rhimes did not. 5. Zelena and Hades – Once Upon a Time Just when it seemed like Zelena was on the road to becoming one of the good guys, she decided to embark on a relationship with Hades. It was … tedious. Two villains don’t make a right. 6. Bill and Sookie – True Blood Bill and Sookie were the central couple on this HBO series, but fans were shipping Sookie and Eric from the get-go. That shows you how crappy the OG pairing was. View Slideshow

As we look ahead to Grey's Anatomy Season 16, we've rounded up everything we know about what's on tap. Consider yourself SPOILER WARNED and read on… 1. There’s No End in Sight ABC handed out a renewal for two seasons, meaning Grey’s Anatomy will be on the air until 2021. 2. Ending the Show Will Be Ellen Pompeo’s Decision to Make Worried about Pompeo leaving and the show going on without her? That’s not going to happen. Series creator Shonda Rhimes told E! News in an interview that she’s following Pompeo’s lead on this one. “Ellen and I have a pact that I’m going to do the show as long as she’s going to do the show. So the show will exist as long as both of us want to do it,” Rhimes said. “If she wants to stop, we’re stopping. So I don’t know if we’ll see 600 [episodes], but I want to keep it feeling fresh. As long as there are fresh stories to tell and as long as we’re both excited about the stories being told, we’re in. So we’ll see where that takes us.” 3. There Will Be More LinkMelia Chris Carmack has been promoted to series regular, meaning that there will be more of Link’s relationship with Amelia. 4. There Will Be More Koracick Greg Germann has also been promoted, meaning he will be sticking around as Tom Koracick for longer. 5. There Will Be More Glasses Levi is in it for the long haul. Jake Borelli has been upped to series regular for Season 16. 6. Who Will Teddy Choose? Teddy was in a love triangle between her, Amelia, and Owen at the beginning of Grey’s Anatomy Season 15. By the end, however, she was in one with Tom and Owen. But will Kim stick with Owen after seemingly choosing him at the end of the season? “I think Owen has done a lot of work on himself,” she commented to People on the cliffhanger. “I think they’re in a really great place for this to be an amazing, amazing relationship. Of course, they did have poor Tom there doing the baby crib and eating a sandwich. I was like, ‘Really?’” View Slideshow

13 TV Couples That Need to Split Up… Right Now!

Some couples on TV make shows worth watching.  Other couples are just there, taking up precious room on the screen.  We hate to say it, but we really want the 13 couples below to call it quits or just, like, keep their affection off the screen.  1. Fred and Serena – The Handmaid’s Tale Fred and Serena were both instrumental in starting the terrors that occur in Gilead, but there’s no love between them. Fred had his wife’s finger cut off. There’s nothing between them, and the fact they’re still married is very concerning. 2. Meredith and DeLuca – Grey’s Anatomy This pairing was out there … even for a primetime soap like Grey’s Anatomy. It came out of nowhere, there’s a lack of chemistry, and things got downright messy. They need to call it quits. 3. Niko and Eve – Killing Eve Niko and Eve were once very much in love … until Eve became infatuated with an assassin named Villanelle. Their relationship is at the breaking point, and they should just quit already. 4. Lucious and Cookie – Empire The term “whiplash” comes to mind when we think of Cookie and Lucious. They’re together one scene, and apart the next. It’s tiring, and we grew bored with it after the first season. 5. Harvey and Donna – Suits We waited eight seasons for them to get together, but when they finally wised up, there was no chemistry. It was exhausted years before because of the sheer amount of teases of a relationship with very little payoff. 6. Dylan and Andrew – PLL: The Perfectionists The Pretty Little Liars spinoff may suck, but Dylan and Andrew are part of the problem. Their relationship is built on lies, and every time they get to a good place, there’s another lie. Hey, some relationships are not meant to work. View Slideshow

Stephanie Niznik, Everwood and Star Trek Actress, Dead at 52

Stephanie Niznik, a peter actress best known for roles on Everwood and Star Trek: Insurrection, died unexpectedly in Encino, California on June 23. She was 52 years old. As of this writing, no official causre of death has been listed by Variety, which broke the sad news, or any other outlet. Niznik rose to prominence due to her role of Nina Feeney, the neighbor of the Brown family and eventual love interest for Dr. Andy Brown (Treat Williams), on Everwood. She portrayed this character for four seasons and recently returned for the show’s 15th anniversary panel at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in 2017. It is from this event that we took the photos immediately above and below. The actress  was a native of Bangor, Maine. She reportedly hoped to become a geneticist prior to graduating from Duke  with majors in theater and Russian. From there, Niznik pursued a masters at Cal Arts and then started acting with roles in programs such as Vanishing Son and Murder She Wrote. These roles marked the beginning of an impressive career on the small screen. Niznik also appeared on Nash Bridges and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman before landing a recurring role on Diagnosis Murder. Along with her work on Everwood, she enjoyed recurring roles on Life is Wild and made guest appearances on Lost, NCIS and CSI: Miami, some of the highest-rated series of their era. As mentioned previously, Niznik will likely be best remembered for her extended time on Everwood. But she also played Trill Starfleet Ensign Kell Perim in the feature film Star Trek: Insurrection, returning to the Star Trek universe to play the Wraith in the Rogue Planet episode of the series Star Trek: Enterprise. Niznik also stopped by ABC for an important episode of Grey’s Anatomy; she was on the backdoor pilot special for spinoff series Private Practice, playing Carol in the fan-favorite Season 3 installment. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, brother and sister-in-law, her niece and nephews, aunt and uncle and her beloved dogs Nucleus and Jake. May Stephanie Niznik rest in peace. Ellen Pompeo: I Nearly Quit Grey’s Anatomy (Because of Patrick Dempsey, Basically)

At this point, we’re pretty sure that Grey’s Anatomy will never end. Ellen Pompeo is signed for the next two seasons of the ABC drama, which will take it through year 17… and there’s really no conclusion in sight. The show continues to perform very well for the network on Thursday nights. However, as part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series, the 49-year-old admits that she nearly left the series a long time ago, which likely would have spelled doom for the ratings and the program’s future in general. Why did Pompeo consider quitting? She got real with Taraji P. Henson, who asked on this special if her fellow actress had ever thought of walking away from the hit ABC series. “There were many moments,” she told Henson in response to this question, adding in more detail: “It’s funny: I never wanted off the bus in the year that I could get off. The first 10 years we had serious culture issues, very bad behavior, really toxic work environment. “But once I started having kids, it became no longer about me. I need to provide for my family.” Pompeo signed a massive new deal in early 2018, so her family should most definitely be provided for at this point. That’s why we’re focused instead on her description of Grey’s Anatomy as a “toxic” place to work back in the day. It’s not really too hard to assume that she’s referencing a couple specific co-stars with that quote. First, there’s Patrick Dempsey. Yes, he played Pompeo’s love interest for 11 seasons and shared an endless array of beautiful and romantic moments with the show’s lead — but it was also clear for a long time that the two weren’t best friends. Far from it, in fact. Pompeo has admitted, for example, that she hasn’t spoken to Dempsey in years . His character was killed off after Season 11. And while Pompeo never mentions Dempsey by name as a source of the issues, she does tell Henson that things got better after that first decade or so on set. “After Season 10, we had some big shifts in front of the camera, behind the camera,” she explains. “It became my goal to have an experience there that I could be happy and proud about, because we had so much turmoil for 10 years. “My mission became, this can’t be fantastic to the public and a disaster behind the scenes. Shonda Rhimes and I decided to rewrite the ending of this story. That’s what’s kept me. “Patrick Dempsey left the show in season 11, and the studio and network believed the show could not go on without the male lead. So I had a mission to prove that it could. “I was on a double mission.” Mission clearly accomplished, as Grey’s Anatomy remains one of the top-rated shows on network television. Pompeo added in this interview that Dempsey was getting paid double what she was in the beginning because he had a “television quote” and she had never done TV. She revealed the The Hollywood Reporter previously that she once asked for $5,000 more than Dempsey “just on principle.” “They wouldn’t give it to me,” she told THR. “And I could have walked away, so why didn’t I? It’s my show; I’m the number one. I’m sure I felt what a lot of these other actresses feel: “Why should I walk away from a great part because of a guy? You feel conflicted but then you figure, ‘I’m not going to let a guy drive me out of my own house.'” Pompeo really does get as candid as one can in this discussion. Heck, she even admits that Grey’s Anatomy has suffered in quality for awhile now. “I haven’t been challenged creatively at all. Every once in a while we do an amazing storyline,” Pompeo said in her Variety interview, adding: “But for the last five years, I’ve had other milestones that we were trying to achieve behind the camera.” Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 will debut on ABC in fall of 2019. Hannah Brown Confronts Kelly Ripa: Who Won Their Bachelorette Tête-à-Tête?

Kelly Ripa made headlines this week for saying that The Bachelorette is disgusting . And just 24 hours later, who ended up appearing on Ripa’s talk show? The Bachelorette herself! Ripa, of course, was not saying on yesterday’s edition of Live with Kelly and Ryan that Hannah Brown is disgusting. She was saying that the premise of the series itself is a giant insult to women everywhere… which seems like a very obvious point and yet which has come across as controversial for some reason. “I can’t stand the idea of 25 exceptional women fighting over one ordinary fella, in my opinion,” Ripa said on air, referring to The Bachelor really and adding: “You know how I feel, ladies, we are too special to be arguing over a guy.” Ripa also referred to The Bachelorette as “creepy.” In response to these comments, Bachelor/Bachelorette host Chris Harrison and franchise creator Mike Fleiss both WENT OFF on Ripa. “Look out #BachelorNation Kelly Ripa is coming after you and your ‘disgusting’ Monday night habit,” Harrison tweeted, while Fleiss got far more personal. “Easy, Kelly Ripa,” he wrote. “ The Bachelor franchise pays your salary .” Yikes, right? Granted, this franchise makes a ton of money for ABC – but Kelly’s talk show is in syndication. It generates millions per year for the network on its own. This response by Fleiss drew the wrath of another ABC employee who knows a thing or two dozen about raking in cash for the network. “Okay @fleissmeister… that’s some handle bro!” wrote Ellen Pompeo in maybe the greatest opening to a Tweet in history. The Grey’s Anatomy star then added: “Your show does NOT pay @KellyRipa salary.  Also we don’t attack successful women on our network and men certainly cannot take credit for their success.  “Don’t get me started on your show cuz I’m a savage…. #bachelorsoooowhite.” We absolutely love it. But back to Brown and Ripa… As soon as The Bachelorette sat down opposite Ripa on Thursday morning, the women engaged in a friendly debate about the show. “I’m not sure if they told you backstage, I’m not behind this at all,” Ripa told the season 15 lead, joking: “You seem like a lovely girl. You blink twice, I will get you out of here.” Brown, though, was unfazed. “I’m good,” she said with a laugh. “I’m glad to be here.” “I am very against women fighting over a guy,” Ripa continued. “I don’t believe in it. I think it’s, you know, weird and sets us back. But now, you are in the power position. So, take me through that. How does that work?” Brown obliged as follows: “I didn’t really follow the show, wasn’t a big fan. “But, being a part of the show, it’s not women fighting against each other. Really, some of my best friends came from the show and were really supportive. “When you have a group of 30 people together, there’s going to be people who don’t like each other. That’s simple facts.” Brown, of course, earned her lead role this season after competing to be Colton Underwood’s wife on The Bachelor . “Ultimately, it was one of the most empowering things that I ever have done because I had to push myself and grow as an individual,” she continued. “And I did. And I think that’s why I decided that I wanted to be the Bachelorette and wanted that so bad.” It sounds ot us like a network PR person wrote some solid words for Brown to utter in defense of the show, doesn’t it? We’re not entirely sure how a woman can be empowered on a series built around the concept of a man picking and choosing who he wants to keep and who he wants to send home. But we’re not here to judge! We’re just here to bring you some The Bachelorette spoilers !
