BOSSIP Exclusive: Richard T. Jones Talks About His Role In “Godzilla” And Reveals This Time The Black Guy Doesn’t Die First!

The 2014 update of Godzilla opens theaters Friday May 16th. Actor Richard T. Jones Talks To BOSSIP About “Godzilla” Movie BOSSIP had the pleasure of talking to actor Richard T. Jones about his role in the film. Check out our exclusive interview below: BOSSIP: Tell us about your role in the film. Richard T. Jones: I play Captain Russell Hampton, I’m the commander of the Navy vessel that we’re using to track the Mutos to see where they’re going, to figure out what they’re doing, why they’re here, what’s their plan. We’re trying to figure out how to defeat them and prevent further casualties. Is it safe to assume the black guy doesn’t die first this time? I don’t die at all actually. It’s one of those movies where Godzilla is the lead. It’s a Godzilla movie and we’re all riding his back but they hold it down, but Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] and Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe really hold down most of the meat. I just get the good fortune of working with them. As far as sci-fi you previously did “Super 8,” how did the two films compare? Very different, definitely one is more typical sci-fi with the aliens in that sense and JJ Abrams is a monster, so I love him. And with Gareth [Edwards], Gareth is amazing too. They’re similar in bigness and similar in styles, very relaxed and cool and collaborative. Real low egos. You’d expect more ego in these guys, but they have none. Other than that, very big movies, grand in scale, so they’re similar in that sense, but I think they’re very different movies. And very different characters. I was a bad guy in “Super 8″ and I like to think I’m a good guy in this. For people who are fans of the cult classic “Godzilla,” how do you think this will measure up? I think they’ll be ecstatic about this. This is so true to the original but it brings a new element to it I think they’ll be thrilled. The way Gareth introduces Godzilla, the way he shows his heroic side. I think it’s amazing. I think they’re going to flip. What are the challenges as an actor when you’re working with a lot of special effects? After working in “Super 8″ it made it a lot easier to do that. I always tell people it’s kinda like going back to when you were a kid and playing in your room and you can imagine anything. I have kids now and I see them do it all the time, so when I do these types of movies that’s what it reminds me of. You almost have to just try to play, you almost have to do it over the top the first few times and get out of your head. You gotta kinda make fun of yourself and that makes it easier. Have your kids seen the movie? My kids saw it with me yesterday and they loved it. What did you take away from the film? Every time I do a project it’s always about the encounters with the people. I spent a lot of time with Ken [Watanabe] and David [Strathairn] and Sally [Hawkins]. Just sweet individuals. I always take away the experience of working with the different actors and crew members. It’s always good to see the same faces when you do something totally different. When I did “Super 8″ we had the same army instructor, so when I went out to Vancouver he was out there. It’s good to reunite with people. So what do you think? Are you going to see “Godzilla?”

Porn Star Kim Kardashian Still Has Some Good Qualities

As an official celebrity blogger, I’m pretty sure I’m contractually obligated to do at least one post on Kim Kardashian every few months, so here you guys go. But at least she makes it easier on me by showing up places dropping this much cleavage. So as much as I can’t stand Kim, I’ve still got to give her that. She’s not totally worthless. What can I say? I guess I must be in a good mood this morning. » view all 14 photos Photos: PacificCoastNews , Fameflynet

World War Z Review: A Cure for the Common Blockbuster

World War Z stands out from standard Summer blockbuster fare in that it doesn’t simply jump from set piece to set piece in the hopes that the audience will forget what a story is. That’s not to say World War Z has a tremendously compelling story, but it does have the right elements to make it a successful Summer flick: high stakes, clearly outlined objectives, and an awareness of its own flashy destruction. Despite what it may have seemed from the trailer, scores of people don’t die in World War Z simply because it looks cool. They die because the story requires that they die. Compare that with your Star Trek Into Darkness es and your Man of Steel s , and this film is already ahead. The (somewhat controversial, if you’ve been following the production’s history) ending furthers that point, in a way that I actually find quite refreshing given the mass, unaddressed destruction that seems to be a requisite part of every action movie of late. But, let’s start with the opening. The opening set piece is actually exceptionally suspenseful and thrilling. Even if you enter the theater with some knowledge of the story, it is hard not to find yourself tossed directly into the confusion and mass hysteria surrounding the story’s incitement. We see Brad Pitt’s Gerry Lane as a man who knows how to take care of his family, and who can navigate any stressful situation with ease. This ultimately becomes a detriment, however, as Lane seems to be sleep-walking through the most important job any man has ever held in the history of humanity (which also makes us wonder: why him? Is he really the absolute best man for this job?). Lane is a former U.N. employee who, after being rescued with his family from the quickly-spreading disease in Newark, is tasked with scouring the earth seeking a cure for a zombie outbreak that is quickly overtaking the entire planet. As part of his charge, he must leave his wife and children, and a boy they picked up along the way, behind on a military aircraft carrier acting as a safe haven. Lane refuses to go, until it is explained to him that if he makes himself unessential, his family will have to leave the ship. While this is a fine back-story for the character, it ultimately feels tacked on as a last-ditch effort to allow the audience connect to Lane. He is very quiet, very inconspicuous, very calculated, for the hero of a horror/thriller. After traveling to two cities deemed important in the collection of information, Lane is no closer to finding a cure. Only while fleeing Jerusalem does he get an idea. Lane’s proposed solution is interesting, but it doesn’t feel exactly like a puzzle that the audience was allowed to solve along with the character. This only adds to the disappointingly introspective nature of our hero. All that said, though, World War Z is full of thrills and suspense. It doesn’t try too hard to be deep, and at the same time it doesn’t throw away all sense of plot in favor of shoving explosions down your throat. It is clean in its choices. Whereas most modern blockbusters get bogged down in overcomplicated plotlines, World War Z is decidedly simple. And that makes it easier to sit back and enjoy. None of the performances were particularly noteworthy, but that should be expected from a film of this caliber. For a suspenseful, thrilling movie-going experience with its share of jumps, World War Z will do just fine. RATING: 3.5/5

‘Dilemma’ Stars Vince Vaughn And Kevin James Share Some Man-Love

‘I could get hit by a car tomorrow and know Kevin James knows the love I have for him,’ Vaughn tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Vince Vaughn and Kevin James Photo: MTV News “The Dilemma” overflows with relationship drama: between Vince Vaughn’s fast-talking Ronny and his girlfriend, Beth; Kevin James’ kind-hearted Nick and his wife, Geneva; and Geneva and her extramarital boy toy, Zip. But perhaps the most tension-filled relationship is the one between Ronny and Nick. Best buds since their days at Ball State, the two are in business together, attempting to construct an electrical car engine that captures the bone-shaking energy of old-school muscle cars. But as the title of the film suggests, an unwelcome intrusion in the form of Nick’s philandering wife enters the picture, causing some bromance-compromising secrecy between the friends. When it comes to their own working relationship, though, Vaughn and James insist on full honesty and the healthy expression of their affection for each other. “I’ve taken every opportunity to be direct and tell this guy I love him,” Vaughn laughed in an interview with MTV News. “I could get hit by a car tomorrow and know Kevin James knows the love I have for him.” James, however, worried that perhaps he hasn’t gone far enough, that perhaps a full-court, flowers-and-candy effusion of man-love is in order. “I don’t think I’ve expressed enough of my love for Vince Vaughn,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s being an honest thing or you let it leak in slowly — you don’t want to overdo it too much, because you don’t want to frighten the person you love so much.” What, may we ask, has given birth to such dude-on-dude worship? Both men seem cut from the same comedic cloth and found themselves working together to hit new jokes and routines that weren’t originally on the page. “Right away, we collaborated with the script,” Vaughn said. “Kevin is so funny. He’s such a good writer. Such good ideas that we were making each other laugh and having fun coming up with stuff. It always makes it easier.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Dilemma.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Biden Watersports Don’t Inspire Confidence in the Media

What to make of elite journalists trading their quills and cameras for water guns and a few laughs with the White House subjects they’re supposed to be covering? Glenn Greenwald writes that “all of this just helpfully reveals what our nation’s leading ‘journalists’ really are: desperate worshipers of political power who are far more eager to be part of it and to serve it than to act as adversarial checks against it—and who, in fact, are Royal Court Spokespeople regardless of which monarch is ruling.” In case you missed it, media bigwigs such as CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Ed Henry got wet and wild at chez Biden over the weekend, giddily tweeting things like “Rahm was chasing Mrs Biden & she hid behind me so i got in his crosshairs—now i know how Sestak felt.” Glenn Greenwald / Salon: About all of this, Ambinder writes: “Does an afternoon of leisure with senior administration officials violate journalistic ethics?

Britney Spears and her Tits Drink Coke of the Day

I just met a woman who smelled like a welfare check, or maybe it was a food stamp, or it could have just been poverty, and she reminded me of Britney Spears…..not because everyone in the area knows her from seeing her pussy, or even because she had a weird uneducated accent, a couple fatherless kids, nicotine stained fingers, saggy tits and low grade stripper trying to pay her baby formula body….but because she was not only on the Britney Spears stained clothes fashion program or the Britney Spears not showering hygiene prograb, but because she was on the Britney Spears diet plan cuz she was trying to tell me about how she drinks 6 cans of coke a day, but not the diet shit that causes cancer, the real coke and like she’s ordering a cup of coffee puts extra sugar in the shit….and then she demonstrated the shit like a fucking junky who would be better off doing real drugs, but in her defense a toothless mouth is a solid investment in her line of work…. Either way, here’s some Britney in some tight shirt showing off ghetto tit getting paid to drink coke. Pics via Fame

Miley Cyrus Rocks the Mic of the Day

There are some pretty desperate people out there who can get off to an ugly teenage popstar just because she’s got a mic up in her face that makes it easier to visualize a cock in its place. I never really understood that level of desperation but that’s probably because celebrities don’t really get me fired up, but slutty 19 year olds do, and there’s ample clips of slutty 19 year olds on the internet actually sucking dick on video, so I never had to get that low and pathetic to pretend a mic was a cock, but don’t feel bad, I am pretty sure there have been many other things that were just as low, desperate and pathetic, but no one’s judgin’ anyone here, we’re all a gang of fucking losers…especially you. ‘Kon says he’s joining his artist in Europe to record songs for her next album. By Jocelyn Vena Akon and Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage While Lady Gaga has been touring across the globe and gearing up to shoot a video for her single “Alejandro,” she’s also found time to record tracks for her next album. Her label boss, Akon , has already heard some of the Fame Monster follow-up, and he says it is out of this world. “She records while she’s on the road,” Akon told Vibe.com . “I’m flying out to Europe to work on some new records with her. Gaga’s just like me. She has a tour bus with a studio in it. Some of the songs I’ve heard are going to be crazy. She’s getting bigger and better.” Although a release date, title and other details have yet to be revealed, Akon knows that she’s working hard and doesn’t need much advice from him. “All I’m doing at the end of the day is listening to the tracks Gaga has written and approving them for her album. She has producers that she works with outside of myself and they are coming up with some incredible records,” he explained. “But the beauty of it is she knows exactly what she wants. So it just makes it easier for me.” Frequent Gaga collaborator RedOne told MTV News that he and the singer still have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. “That I don’t want to say, because you always want to shock people,” he said. “And you don’t want to let people know, so that when they hear it, [they go], ‘Oh my God.’ ” And after winning a pair of Grammys with Gaga this year, RedOne promised more successes to come. “We’re just gonna rock again,” he said. “When me and Gaga get together, it’s crazy. It’s unbelievable.” What do you hope Gaga will do on her next album? Tell us in the comments! Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga Akon
