So sad… Shawty Lo’s Father Died Just Days Before Him Just days before his fatal car crash, Shawty Lo was mourning the loss of his father. The rapper real name, Carlos Walker, attended a homegoing service for his father on Saturday before passing away on Wednesday on an Atlanta highway. The AJC reports: Milton Swift, the Shawty Lo’s videographer and chef, went to the crash site to see where his friend died. A copy of rapper’s “Put Some Respek On It” CD was on the side of the road. Swift said he talked to Shawty Lo on Tuesday. “We just wrapped up a video dedication to his father called ‘Letter to My Father,’” Swift said. “We just buried him two days ago, and now we got to deal with this right here.” Swift called the rapper his brother and said he gave him his first shot in the music industry. “This guy was loved by his city,” Swift said. “He loved life. He loved people. He loved his family. He loved all his kids.” Although his friend said the funeral was two days ago, Shawty Lo’s longtime girlfriend Jai Jai shared a picture from the service last weekend. Jamie Foxx calls Spike Lee out! Jamie Foxx Calls Out Spike Lee For Comments About Django Unchained During an interview with the The Guardian, the ‘Django unchained’ star, Jamie Foxx, gave his opinion of Spike Lee, calling the 55-year-old director “shady” and “irresponsible.” Via The Grio reports: “The question for me is: where’s Spike Lee coming from?” Foxx said. “He didn’t like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn’t like Tyler Perry, he doesn’t like anybody, I think he’s sort of run his course. I mean, I respect Spike, he’s a fantastic director. But he gets a little shady when he’s taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that’s irresponsible.” In recent weeks Django Unchained has faced criticism for its use of racist language, specifically the n-word which is uttered roughly 110 times. Lee claims the film is “disrespectful to my ancestors” and has refused to see it on principle. “American slavery,” he later tweeted, “was not a Sergio Leone spaghetti western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them.” Former 2 Live Crew member Luther Campbell called Lee an “Uncle Tom,” and Dick Gregory, the legendary activist and comedian also lashed out at Lee referring to him as a “thug” and a “punk.” Is it fair to give Spike Lee the ho sit down?

Guess he needed that reality show more than we thought… Shawty Lo Arrested In Atlanta Via News One reports: First Atlanta rapper, Shawty Lo, real name Carlos Walker, was told that his controversial ‘Oxygen’ show, ‘All My Babies Mamas,’ was being cancelled; then he begged fans to sign a petition on Change.org asking the network to reconsider airing the show and now, according to various reports, the rapper has been arrested for failure to pay child support. Shawty Lo even took it to twitter to brag about how quickly he was released from jail: Wat dey thought!!! Hopefully, it’s not a child support issue; but whatever it is most certainly isn’t a good example for his children. Not so fast! Looks like Shawty Lo was just pulling a PUBLICITY STUNT to gain attention for his failed reality show! UPDATE: Via HipHopEnquirer reports: After doing our own independent investigation into the matter and speaking with sources from Shawty Lo’s camp, we found out he was actually NOT ARRESTED due to failure of child support payment or anything for that matter.It all started when a picture surfaced on the internet Friday night of Shawty Lo being handcuffed by a City of Atlanta police officer. HHE spoke exclusively with Shawty Lo’s manger, Johnie Cabbell who stated that the picture is just a scene from the video shoot of an upcoming single.While speaking to his manager was only part of our investigation, we examined the actual photo of his purported arrest and determined that the cop wearing the uniform had an “Atlanta Police” emblem on the shoulder. All Atlanta police arrests falls in the County of Fulton. We contacted the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and verified Carlos Walker alias Rico didn’t have any arrests since 2010 and it was not for child support.
