The Bachelor leading man Ben Higgins has been romantically linked to not one, not two, but three women as the new season draws near. Oh yes. Just before his stint as the ABC franchise standard-bearer, rumors are flying that Ben is not only in a relationship, but a player. Over the past few seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, fans have already lost a lot of faith in the “process” and motives in play. This story is not likely to reverse that trend. When The Bachelor spoilers confirmed that Ben was picked for the role, fans were more or less thrilled, believing Higgins was the perfect fit. Granted, their only other option was Nick Viall, and Chris Soules and Juan Pablo Galavis set the bar low, but still. People were pro-Ben. In wooing Kaitlyn Bristowe, he seemed genuinely sweet, innocent and invested in finding lasting love, while being free of ulterior motives. Perhaps that isn’t true after all, though. In fact, ever since he got the job, there have been rumors of more women’s Ben’s life than we can keep track of. Always a great sign. First, we learned he was dating Tenley Molzahn, former runner-up on The Bachelor and recurring player on Bachelor Pad / In Paradise . That romance was put on hold when he got the Bachelor gig, which would make sense … except that he’s reportedly with Kelly Osborn . Kelly even posted photos of the two of them in their hometown of Denver, leading many to believe she was marking her online territory. Now, to top it all off, we’ve learned that Ben is hollering at Cassandra Ferguson, also of The Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise fame. Ferguson has also been tied to Jonathan Holloway (it’s an incestuous group) but the bottom line is that the next Bachelor is playing the field. Christina Valdez said her daughter, Cassandra Garcia, came home one day from class at Desert Springs Academy in Tucson, Ariz., with the paper award. The document, which looks like a colorful card, says: “You’re Tops! Catastrophe Award . Awarded to Cassandra Garcia. For Most Excuses for Not Having Homework!” The teacher signed and dated the card, which included a smiley face. Eight-Year-Old Wins ‘Catastrophe Award’ The teacher announced the award in front of Garcia’s entire third grade class, while other students laughed at her daughter, Valdez told KGUN-TV in Tucson. When she called to complain, the principal “blew me off,” Valdez added. “She said it was a joke that was played and that the teachers joke around with the children.” Valdez told KGUN that she didn’t find any of it funny. “I think it’s cruel and no child should be given an award like this. It’s disturbing,” she said, adding that she was unaware of any problem with homework.

The Biggest Loser: No Excuses was a season full of unexpected twists and turns … but, well, few excuses. At the end of the day, the final three stepped on the scale. With Mark Cornelison and Buddy Shuh, who quit just before the finals, and Joe Messina, who quit earlier in the season, ineligible, the field was narrowed a bit. In their absence, fan favorites Chism Cornelison, Emily Joy and Cassandra Sturros took to the stage with 11 other contestants to show off their new figures. That was for the at-home prize of $100,000. Mike Messina won the at-home prize by losing a total of 160 lbs., or 44.69 percent of his body weight. He beat out Cassandra Sturos (who lost 92 lbs., or 38.49 percent) and her friend Emily Joy (who lost 102 lbs. lost, or 38.64 percent). The grand prize came down to single mom Conda Britt, 24, her brother Jeremy Britt, 22, and former pro-wrestler Kim Nielsen, 38. The weigh-in results: Conda went from 294 lbs. to 179, a loss of 115, or 39.12 percent of her body. Kim went from 252 lbs. to 134, a total weight loss of 118 or 46.83 percent. Jeremy went from 389 lbs. to 190 for a weight loss of a whopping 199, which is 51.16 percent of his previous body weight. That makes Jeremy Britt, who is now half the man he used to be, but only literally, the winner of The Biggest Loser and $250,000! Well done man!
