This Is Us just did it again. We guess we shouldn’t be surprised at this point. And yet: That’s sort of the whole point, isn’t it? On This Is Us Season 4 Episode 1 , which aired Tuesday evening on NBC, the beloved drama shifted our focus from its core characters to a bunch fo newbies… prior to wrapping up the premiere with yet another twist that brought everything together. Appropriately titled “Strangers,” the episode introduced fans to: Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison), an intense military officer whose wartime stint in Afghanistan left her detached, drinking and not very close to her husband, Ryan (Nick Wechsler), and their young son. After losing some control, along with her loved ones, Cassidy sought assistance from a veteran’s support group. From there, we saw her first meeting was interrupted by… Griffin Dunne’s Nicky , who hurled a chair through the window in a fit of drunken anger. Then there was Malik (Asante Blackk), a teenager who’s attempting to provide for a young daughter — at any cost. This new character’s parents are Darnell (Omar Epps) and Kelly (Marsha Stephanie Blake), who shower him with affection and also plenty of babysitting. Darnell made sure that Malik had a few moments of carefree bliss at a friend’s barbecue, where the latter grew instantly smitten with a new-to-Philly girl whose name is… Deja (Lyric Ross). Following along so far? Because we’re about to change time periods. In a flash-forward, viewers met a bold, quippy, struggling blind musician … who married the waitress at the diner he happened to visit by happenstance … and is now enjoying burgeoning fame, because this guy is… Jack (Blake Stadnik). Yes, present-day premature son of Kate and Toby! Both grandmother and mother had music dreams — and Jack was the one who seemed to turn similar dreams into an actual, successful reality. There’s your major Season 4 premiere twist, folks. Elsewhere, however, this opener was anchored in the past, traveling back to the early 1970s as Jack and Rebecca returned from their amazing road trip and were feeling out the possibilities of this new romance. Jack was invited to meet her parents (the incomporable Elizabeth Perkins and Tim Matheson) at a country club dinner, where our favorite underdog Vietnam veteran managed to impress everyone at the table. Ultimately, however, Rebecca’s father shook his hand … and told Jack that wasn’t good enough for his daughter. That’s a lot to take in overall, of course. Thankfully, showrunner Dan Fogelman spoke to Entertainment Weekly and broke down this shocking This Is Us premiere. Why did he introduce new characters in this fashion? Normally you would meet characters through the eyes of your main characters, which always gives you a little bit of a skewed perspective, because you’re meeting them through our characters. But that’s not how you meet strangers in real life. The first time you meet the person who becomes your husband or wife or your new boss or your business partner, they’ve had a whole life before you and the meeting with them is your first experience of them. So I wanted to give the audience that feeling of getting to know these people before you got to know them in relation to our main characters. What will the relationship between Cassidy and Kevin be like? The relationship is complicated, it’s formative, and it’s a very deep, interesting, bizarre relationship. And whether or not it’s ever romantic is for the series to delve into a little bit later on. But it’s an interesting thing when you look back — she’s going to be somebody who adjusts a part of the course of Kevin’s life. As is the entire first half of the season that he’s embarking on. How far might the show flash forward? Beyond Jack at the concert? I mean, anything’s possible. It’s not in the current plan right now… We do have plans for the future and that which we call “the deeper future” — because we call it the one where Rebecca’s in bed “the deep future” — but I think we would only being going past that linearly. Meaning a continuation of where we’ve been with Jack, but not even jumping further into the 2300s or anything like that. How will Jack’s blindness affect Kate and Toby in the present day going forward? It’s a gigantic story… Raising a child is a complicated process, and raising a blind child comes with extra challenges. Obviously, having a newborn child — with or without sight — is a challenging time for young parents. For any parents. You’re snipping at each other, you’re exhausted. [Now] there’s added stuff. This was not expected. It’s a surprise and that’s a big part of their season this year. View Slideshow: 13 TV Shows Canceled Way Too Soon
I never heard of the SoapGirls, but I saw these pics of their concerts that they strip down topless at, and thought, I can see past how cheesy they are and appreciate their feminist punk strategy, even if it is simplistic and calculated and hardly punk, it is still two sisters naked together on stage making accessible “punk” pop music…. I looked up the SoapGirls on instagram and all I found was some girl who sells homemade soap…but then I found their website and according to their website : “these fearless French born sisters Millie and Mie, have slayed critics” “The SoapGirls are society’s rejects” “The SoapGirls write outsider anthems that are androgynous, audacious and straight from the heart.” This is what their concert looks like….looks good to me….cuz tits override try hard shamelessness every fucking day… I support this kind of behavior….despite not listening to how bad the actual music is cuz if you’ve turned on the radio you know music has no integrity, it is all an attempt to get seen amongst all the clutter and tits give you the easiest and best shot at that… TO SEE THE REST OF THE PICS CLICK HERE The post The SoapGirls Topless Performing of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Fans Are NOT HAPPY With Homecoming ‘s Creative Arts Emmys Oversight When Beyoncé headlined Coachella in 2018, fans crowded around their laptops and made an event out of the livestream, live-tweeting about the concert and gushing over the insane dedication and production value put into the show. A year later, Netflix released Homecoming , a documentary which included that same iconic performance footage (compiled from both Coachella weekends) along with a behind-the-scenes look at just how much work went into making the whole thing happen. Fast forward to present day, Beyoncé’s concert film was nominated for six Emmys: outstanding variety special, outstanding costumes for variety, non-fiction or reality programming; outstanding directing for a variety special; outstanding music direction; outstanding production design for a variety special and outstanding writing for a variety special. Somehow, at the Creative Arts Emmys on September 14, Homecoming came up completely empty-handed. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on Apr 15, 2018 at 12:47am PDT Though not getting recognized in general has a lot of Beyoncé fans upset, even more upsetting is what Homecoming was beat by. Though the documentary was nominated and snubbed in several categories, the one oversight that’s gaining attention is “Best Variety Special,” where Bey’s concert special lost to James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke special with Paul McCartney, When Corden Met McCartney. Corden’s series also won in several other categories including “Best Technical Direction/Camerawork/Video Control” and “Best Short Form Variety Series.” If you’re not familiar with Carpool Karaoke, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Late night host James Corden drives around with different celebrities while they sing along to songs together. That’s it. And that’s the series that won multiple awards while Beyonce and her Homecoming crew went home empty-handed (metaphorically, because Beyoncé didn’t actually show up to the award show…obviously). For a series that has the same production value as Cash Cab , fans are outraged that Carpool Karaoke went home with awards for camerawork and other accolades while Homecoming was completely snubbed. In what world would someone whose seen a Beyoncé performance and some karaoke ever pick the karaoke?! To say this weird Emmys outcome has caused some outrage online would be an understatement. Here’s what fans had to say once news broke that James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke won over Beyoncé’s masterful Coachella performance portrayed in Homecoming : Award shows are a fucking joke. How does Carpool Karaoke win an #Emmy over Beyoncé's #Homecoming ? Yes, James Corden is entertaining, but he's not the first Black Woman to headline Coachella. — HOT NERD JAZZZ (@sasssyjazzzy) September 15, 2019 WAITTTT hold the mothafuckin phone. This joint tour with Blink-182 seems to be a troubled one for Wayne, as this isn’t the first time he’s has run into troubles and possible cancellations. This time, the rapper is telling fans that police and the Ritz-Carlton are responsible. Weezy took to social media to explain that he wouldn’t be performing on Saturday night after being kicked out of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in St. Louis. “Sorry not doing the show tonight in St Lou kuz I was just kik’d out the Ritz and 12 got involve so I gotta slide,” the rapper tweeted, breaking news to fans. “Tht y’all f w me out here. Dam slime. It’s all luv tho.” Sorry not doing the show tonight in St Lou kuz I was just kik’d out the ritz and 12 got involve so I gotta slide. Tht y’all f w me out here. Dam slime. It’s all luv tho — Lil Wayne WEEZY F (@LilTunechi) September 14, 2019 It’s still not clear why police got involved and ended up cutting Wayne’s stay short, but apparently the situation was enough to stop him from performing at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre later that night. He assured fans later on that he will still be performing in Cincinnati as scheduled on Monday. Katch me in Cincinnati Monday !! Luv! — Lil Wayne WEEZY F (@LilTunechi) September 14, 2019 The venue confirmed later on Saturday that Wayne would not be in the building, but the show still went on with Blink-182. This hiccup on tour isn’t the first problem Weezy has had while touring recently. Back in July, Lil Wayne cut his set short and warned fans that it “might” be his last stop on the tour with the Blink-182. He later clarified that he would not drop out of the tour and said, “I’m having too much fun with my bros.” Later that same month, he canceled his Tampa performance last-minute.
Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Though Def Jam, Death Row and Bad Boy were considered the 90’s biggest and baddest Hip-Hop record labels, real heads know that LOUD Records was responsible for dropping just as much classic material (if not more) as the aforementioned companies. To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, LOUD Records will be throwing a OG star-studded concert on October 11 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ dubbed LOUD Twenty-Five . Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, and Xzibit are just a few names that the house that Steve Rifkind and Rich Issacson built. They helped push the rap game forward and the sounds that they created still reverberate in the culture to this day. Slated to feature performances from LOUD alumni such as the Wu-Tang Clan, Three 6 Mafia, Mobb Deep (R.I.P. Prodigy), dead prez, Pete Rock, and a Big Pun tribute courtesy of Fat Joe and Remy Ma, the concert event is poised to become a night to remember for the heads who lived Hip-Hop’s golden era. Steve Rifkind perfectly summed up why this concert means so much to him. “This celebration means the world to me,” said Rifkind via a press statement. “LOUD was born out of a love for hip hop and a childhood fantasy. To see it grow into one of the most iconic and storied hip hop labels in history and having the opportunity to celebrate with our amazing artists 25 years later leaves me speechless about our journey.” Get tickets to the OG Hip-Hop concert of 2019 at Ticketmaster and let us know if you’re looking forward to partying like it’s nineteen ninety-something once again come October 11. Source: Prince Williams / Getty Two issues stood out most on tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood . Yoyo is experiencing ageism from her own daughter, and A1’s mother tried it when she insinuated that it’s Lyrica’s fault that A1 ain’t treating her right. Let’s start with Yoyo. We know she has been helping other rappers work on their technique through her rap school, but she’s also planning a musical comeback. She basically described her comeback as being the Yoyo we know, but with modern sensibilities. That’s going to be interesting given the mumble app tendencies of today’s most popular hits. If anything, the fans that grew up with her might be interested in hearing what she’s working with…or maybe not. It really is a mixed bag because people are so finicky but also arbitrary these days when it comes to what entertainment they like. Plus, this culture is dominated by youth and that is where Yoyo’s pregnant daughter comes in because a lot of people may feel Yoyo should fall back. Yoyo’s daughter feels like mom is doing too much, and wants her to settle down. She obviously wants her mom to settle down for selfish reasons. She wants her mom around to play grandma and help with the baby. Instead of being tactful about it she says, “You’ve always been working, it’s time for you to settle down you’re a grandma.” Yoyo replies, “Girl bye!” And it makes you wonder, why can’t Yoyo have everything she wants? It’s possible for her to be working and a doting grandmother. Why are people so bothered when women of a certain age are still about pursuing their passions? Do you think it would be a different response if Yoyo were a man? Let’s fast forward a bit. The episode ends with Lyrica and A1’s dysfunction. They’re not happy and haven’t been for a while. They both initially said they were going to try to work it out but then Lyrica said she found out about more infidelity that A1 was dishonest about and this makes her not sure about their future. It doesn’t help that A1’s mother, Pam, steps into the fray and creates more chaos. Pam called herself stepping in to help and only made things worse. She especially tried it when she said, “Men do stuff because of women.” Then she added that Lyrica never cooks. Basically, she’s saying that A1 cheating is Lyrica’s fault. A1’s goofy self is there agreeing with his mother. Unfortunately, a lot of people have the archaic and baseless view that a failed relationship is the woman’s fault. However, it’s obvious that A1 and Lyrica both play a part in their issues. If they’re serious about working it out then perhaps a therapist (or even Marriage Bootcamp ) is the best option. But if not, they should probably move on instead of playing tit for tat games, and definitely keep the meddling mamas out of their business. Was A1’s mother out of pocket with her comments?
