Blac Chyna: TAKING IT to Kylie Jenner Over Tyga Relationship Drama!

You didn’t really think Blac Chyna would remain silent on the sidelines during the past week’s Kylie Jenner-Tyga relationship roller coaster, did you? If you missed it, the Keeping up with the Kardashians starlet briefly extinguished the flames of her controversial romance with the mediocre rapper. Young Jenner broke up with him , by all indications, due to his consistently shady behavior and the conventional wisdom that she can do a lot better. Just as quickly, though, the duo appears to be back together – and perhaps even hotter than ever – after Tyga begged Kylie for a second chance . We can’t even with these two. And neither, it appears, can Blac. Chyna, the all-star stripper and mother of Tyga’s son King, has been a frequent critic of his romance with Kylie, and couldn’t resist piling it on. When she found out that her baby daddy was single again, Blac quickly posted an online video wearing the watch that Tyga bought for her. Those who keep close tabs on the Kylie-Blac feud may recall that Tyga bought his then-underage plaything the same watch earlier this year. Blac’s BFF Amber Rose then got in on the action too, Tweeting, “When you overlook his jacked up bottom row of teeth and he still cheat on you.” Not all that subtle with the shade throwing right there, Ambs. Sure, a pair of grown ass women trolling Kyga may be juvenile and beneath them, but at least it’s mostly harmless and not full-on menacing. It’s not like Blac is licking knives and making thinly-veiled threats, or posting photos of herself with comically Kylie-style plumped lips here. Oh wait. Howard Fineman Gives Newsweek’s Print Edition Five More Years

Are you one of the many Americans who can’t stand Newsweek Magazine’s unending tripe of liberal condescension? Good news: you may not have to put up with it much longer – at least not in its print form. Outgoing Newsweek columnist Howard Fineman, who recently announced he would exit the sinking ship for the Huffington Post, gave the magazine’s print edition five years. “My guess is that there will be several years of a fond embrace of the traditional magazine,” he said. “But that stuff is going because the economics are too difficult.” Pressed for a specific time frame, Fineman gave his five-year prediction. Since it was sold for a dollar to media mogul Sidney Harman, Newsweek has shed some of its most prominent names. The Business Insider reported that “of the roughly two dozen Newsweek journalists who have run for the door in recent months, some of the most high-profile names have joined news outlets without dead-tree versions.” Fineman is perhaps the most prominent, but other reporters and commentators have departed as well: Economics editor Dan Gross is headed to Yahoo Finance. Longtime investigative reporter Mark Hosenball is joining former Newsweek worldwide special editions editor Arlese Getz at Reuters. Michael Isikoff, the magazine’s other longtime investigative ace, took a job at NBC News. Marc Coatney (granted, he was a digital staffer in the first place) is now working for Tumblr. The Business Insider posits that Newsweek’s troubles are a commentary on the state of print media generally. Though the magazine’s unique troubles are of course a factor, posited BI reporter Joe Pompeo, the departures also hint at an ever-growing anxiety about what the future holds for print media in general. More and more old media journalists are starting to map out digital futures, and the publications where they are plotting their courses are embracing the credibility, gravitas and, above all, readers, that their bylines can bring. The BI misses one key point: whereas most print media outlets are profitable – and simply owned by companies that are not – Newsweek was anything but, and was draining WaPo’s coffers when it was sold. So why was Newsweek sold for a dollar and debts while competitor Time magazine posted healthy gains in revenue from both ads and subscriptions? Well, according to World Editors Forum, Time decided to go with the conventional “liberal-but-not-too-liberal” approach, maintaining a semblance of news value. Newsweek, on the other hand, turned hard left, according to Stefanie Chernow, who wrote for WEF’s Editors Weblog. Time differed from Newsweek on the direction of its content, writing straightforward analysis of stories that took a left of center spin. Newsweek took a dramatically left approach to its content and produced more opinionated essays and columns. A year later, Time’s strategy seems to be proving much more successful than that of Newsweek. Perhaps Newsweek should opt for an approach that doesn’t alienate anyone less than five notches left of center, regardless of the medium it chooses to emphasize.

George Will Smacks Down Beinart’s Claim Sarah Palin Is GOP’s George McGovern

George Will on Sunday refuted Peter Beinart’s claim that former governor Sarah Palin is the Republicans’ George McGovern. As NewsBusters previously reported , Beinart appearing on ABC’s “This Week” claimed the GOP today resembles the Democrat Party between 1968 and 1972 when McGovern took it over and moved it so far to the left that it no longer represented the views of average Americans. This ended up harming the Democrats in the long run leading Beinart to conclude, “The Republicans will do great in 2010, but I think Sarah Palin is really the Republicans’ George McGovern.” Will smartly responded (video follows with partial transcript and commentary): GEORGE WILL: But eight months ago, the worry was the worst case analysis for Republicans was that the Tea Party energies would be diverted in a third party candidacy splitting the conservative vote in this country. Sarah Palin, think of her what you will, has brought them into the Republican Party, and they are one of the main reasons for what is going to be probably decisive in November and that is the enormous enthusiasm and intensity gap that favors the Republicans this year.  Indeed. The fear of the conventional wisdom punditry months ago was that the Tea Party would be so divisive it would result in third party candidates splintering the conservative vote. So far the only such “insurgents” have been sore losers within the GOP establishment like Florida’s Charlie Crist and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski who refuse to be good Party members and get on board the winner’s bandwagon.   Congressional Quarterly’s Craig Crawford made a similar point on Sunday’s “Reliable Sources”: The thing about the Tea Party that strikes me is it’s very similar in particularly their fiscal conservative views to the Perot movement. And this argument that they’re bad for Republicans doesn’t wash as much with me because as least they’re inside the Republican Party. The Perot people were outside the party and much more damaging to Republicans.   Exactly, which means that liberal media members like Beinart continue to either misunderstand what’s going on with this movement or just choose to dishonestly misrepresent it in order to assist the Party they really  support.  Readers are encouraged to review Brent Baker’s ” Tea Parties Will Lead to 1964-Like Goldwater Debacle…No, Make that a 1972-Like McGovern Drubbing .”

‘Breaking Dawn’ Part Two Release Date Not Set For Summer 2012

Summit exec says the final ‘Twilight’ movie’s release date is ‘still the source of discussions.’ By Eric Ditzian Stephenie Meyer’s “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Little, Brown and Company In June, Summit Entertainment announced that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be released as two separate films , with the first part arriving on November 18, 2011. Though no release date for the second part has been announced, the conventional wisdom has been that the second part would follow in the summer of 2012. Not so fast. Summit distribution chief Richie Fay told MTV News that no such decision has been made and that the studio is still exploring multiple release dates, not just ones in the summer. “We’ve targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen,” Fay said. “We haven’t even determined that it will be the summer. It’s still the source of discussions.” Of course, studios always explore various release dates for pictures, especially established blockbusters, and the fact that Summit hasn’t committed the second “Breaking Dawn” to the summer season shouldn’t be mistaken for confusion or indecision within studio headquarters. But the 2012 summer movie calendar is rapidly filling up, not necessarily with films that widely share an audience with “Breaking Dawn,” but with established franchises or properties in their own right. That May will offer “The Avengers,” “Madagascar 3” and “Men in Black 3,” while June delivers a “Star Trek” sequel. The rebooted “Spider-Man” has already nabbed the July 4th slot (occupied this year by “Eclipse”), followed closely by another “Ice Age” and a third “Batman.” Surely there’s room here for “Breaking Dawn,” but Summit now has experience releasing “Twilight” movies both in the summer and the fall. And, as Fay says, the studio might not be ready to pick a season for “Breaking Dawn” until “Eclipse” finishes up its theatrical run . “We might have a preference when we see where ‘Eclipse’ ends up,” he said of choosing one season over another. “It certainly might color our thinking, but we’re comfortable with either place. This year’s show is dedicated to hip-hop originating from down bottom: Luther Campbell and his Miami group the 2 Live Crew; producers Jermaine Dupri, Organized Noize and Timbaland; J. Prince and the Houston-based Rap-A-Lot music empire; and Master P and the No Limit soldiers who turned New Orleans on its ear. “Tonight is gonna be historical,” DJ Khaled told MTV News last week as the show taped at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. “To be a part of a historical moment like this … I been with [Rick] Ross, I seen Bun B, I seen Luke. I seen Pitbull, Trina, Goodie Mob. Just the rehearsal alone, I had goose bumps. This is big for the South — this is big for music period.” Among the acts honoring this year’s class are Khaled and Ross, Paul Wall, Lil Jon, Drake, Trina, Pitbull, Nelly and the St. Lunatics, as well as Diddy and Gucci Mane. Meanwhile, T.I. and Jonah Hill participated as presenters; Craig Robinson hosts. “Just being in jail three weeks ago, that was so big for me,” Gucci told Miss Info about his involvement in the ceremony. “No pressure. Everything is downhill from there,” he told the media personality. “Nothing bigger than … getting your freedom back. I don’t have nothing to prove.” During rehearsals last week, Silkk the Shocker said he was proud of what his brother, Master P, had accomplished . “With me, first of all, shouts out to him, ’cause I got to see greatness for a long time,” Silkk said. “It’s very good to finally see him get honored for it. And then, I think a lot of people out there also appreciate what he’s done. I perform all the time, but to actually perform and give back to him and show him what he means to us, that’s amazing for me.” P told MTV News that one of his greatest contributions was selling so many records without the backing of a major label. “When it comes down to putting out records, people are afraid. They say, ‘I don’t want to put out too many records,’ ” P explained of the conventional rationale. “My thing was, with No Limit, when you’re hot, you’re hot, you give ’em whatever you can give ’em. That’s what I teach my family: When you got ’em, give it to ’em, ’cause when you got a fanbase, feed that fanbase. There’s no such thing as too much music. We accomplished something that nobody did, to be able to sell 75 million records independently and to be honored for hip-hop is a blessing and lets you know we been dong the right thing.” Some of the can’t-miss moments on this year’s “Hip Hop Honors” are Bow Wow dressed up like Kris Kross to perform the JD-produced classic “Jump,” and the lively return of Mystikal during P’s “Make ‘Em Say Ugh.” Whose set are you most looking forward to?
