“Cancel Me”: Daniel “Yessum Julz” Caesar’s New Album Went Quadruple Balsa Wood; Twitter Laughs At His Struggles

Source: Leon Provost / Radio One Houston Be careful what you wish for. Remember in March when YesJulz came under fire for being the culture vulture anti-black spectacle that she always is? Remember how Daniel Caesar came flying to her defense like your mother’s brother Thomas? Remember how he put out an IG video daring black people to cancel him? Well, fast forward to July and Daniel has released a surprise album like he thinks he’s Beyonce. The album, Case Study 101, only managed to sell roughly 3,000 copies with 22,000 streams according to The Grapejuice , which is…not great. Some will point to this as a result of Caesar begging to be canceled, but it probably has more to do with the fact a surprise album coming out while other highly-anticipated albums are dropping doesn’t usually bode well. He probably isn’t canceled or boycotted…but Twitter is still going to roast his a$$ for his sales. Right? Right. Take a look… Daniel Ceasar’s tap dancing ass album is flopping?? pic.twitter.com/cktjLlucAU — PHoxy Grandpa (@_Petty_Wap_) July 5, 2019

Jada Pinkett Smith Reacts To Willow Smith Being Receptive To An Open Relationship With A Man And Woman

J ada Pinkett Smith hosts “Red Table Talk” on Facebook where she, her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris and her 18-year-old daughter Willow Smith talk every topic possible. It’s a candid convo that gets extra real. Today, Willow dropped a bomb on her mom that gave her a bit of a jolt. READ MORE: Candace Owens Reportedly ‘Influenced’ New Zealand Mosque Terrorist The most recent episode was about open relationships with two guests invited on talking about their unique arrangement. Willow talked if that type of situation could work for her, saying,  “I love men and women equally and so I would definitely want one man, one woman.” She continued, “I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people. I’m not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences. I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of the different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don’t feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more.” She also could not see herself in a quadruple, adding, “Personally, male and female — that’s all I need,” she said. Jada looked a bit shocked and said, “How does that make you feel?” to her mom. She continued with laughter, “‘Cause I think my stomach just [makes turning motion].” She also said, “Listen, you know me, Willow. Whatever makes you happy. I always tell her, never be afraid. You have to live who you’re not to know who you are.” That’s what you call support — loving your child no matter what. Watch the show below, go to the 8:00 minute mark to see the exchange. While some people automatically equate disaster with open relationships, a 2018 study from the University of Guelph says the opposite. Co-author of the study Jessica Wood said, “We found people in consensual, non-monogamous relationships experience the same levels of relationship satisfaction, psychological well-being and sexual satisfaction as those in monogamous relationships.” She also said, “This debunks societal views of monogamy as being the ideal relationship structure. … In both monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, people who engage in sex to be close to a partner and to fulfill their sexual needs have a more satisfying relationship than those who have sex for less intrinsic reasons, such as to avoid conflict.” SEE ALSO: All The Ways Cops Are Still Trying To Cover Up LaQuan McDonald’s Execution Outrageous! Adultification Bias: Study Shows Black Girls Are Treated More Harshly Than White Peers Of The Same Age

Source: Vladimir Vladimirov / Getty Study Shows Adults Perceive Black Girls As Less Innocent Than White Girls Of The Same Age Kudos to Jamilia J. Blake and Rebecca Epstein, who recently released their findings in a study on behalf of the Georgetown Law Center on Poverty and Inequality which looked at adultification bias toward young black girls and women. The introduction to the study revealed how Blake and Epstein previously conducted research which resulted in the June 2017 release of Girlhood Interrupted: The Erasure of Black Girls’ Childhood, a report that presented the findings from their quantitative analysis of an form of gendered racial bias against Black girls: adultification – a stereotype in which adults view Black girls as less innocent and more adult-like than their white peers, devoid of any individualized context. The results of that study revealed that adults perceive Black girls as less innocent than white girls as young as 5-9 years old. The set of findings published last week took things a step further. Researchers conducted focus groups with Black women and girls across the country, in towns and cities of various sizes and in different geographic regions, speaking with a range of participants, between the ages of 12 and 60 years old. Many of those who participated shared personal stories revealing harmful consequences of adults misperceiving their age. “Almost all the black girls and women we talked to said they’d experienced adultification bias as children,” report co-author Jamilia Blake said in a statement. “And they overwhelmingly agreed that it led teachers and other adults to treat them more harshly and hold them to higher standards than white girls.” NEW research @GtownLawPovCntr finds that black girls routinely experience “adultification bias”—the perception of Black girls as less innocent. The report features voices of Black women & girls, highlighting their lived experiences, insights & solutions. https://t.co/4t8oRbeLsc pic.twitter.com/fk6kJ3LsWh — Georgetown Law (@GeorgetownLaw) May 15, 2019 One such participant described being stopped by a police officer who did not believe her when she told him she was 15 years old, and handcuffed and fingerprinted her because he insisted that she was too old not to carry identification. “[T]he officer that came and … fingerprinted me — he was like: ‘Well, child, you know, don’t lie to us. And if you tell us the real — your real age and real name, we wouldn’t have to be going through none of this’ ….” (Age group 13-17) Other examples of adultification bias concerned “attitude”: “[E]ven when you see just in general the word ‘attitude’ being applied … it’s usually not applied to white girls. It’s applied to Black girls.” (Age group 20‑29) “[A] Black girl, if she’s right, and she wants to argue about something, she’s always labelled as, like, angry. And especially when it came to teachers and stuff. I would see people like debating with teachers and they would always automatically get into trouble. Because like she has ‘attitude.’ [But] … she’s just like trying to prove that she’s right. And … you can just tell that [to teachers,] automatically, she’s, like, in the wrong, just because.” (Age group 17‑23) “[T]he teacher would say she felt threatened, you know, by me expressing myself in a classroom; like, I was, like, overpowering her when a — a outspoken white person would be [viewed as], ‘Oh,nthey’re intelligent;’ you know?” (Age group 20‑29) How many of these scenarios seem familiar to you? The findings also include participants personal stories of being hypersexualized by adults: “In … sixth grade, … the school nurse, like, ask[ed] my aunt if I was sexually active …. And I was, like, at the time, like, what? Like, what? Nobody has sex. Like, I didn’t know anyone that had sex. And it was so crazy to me. And then just thinking, like, she would never think to ask my [white] friend that.” (Age group 20‑29) The bias the participants described included overreaction and premature criminalization as well. Just consider this story, shared by one of the young women who was interviewed: “I remember even in elementary school I had to transfer to different schools, and the other school didn’t want to take me because I had assault and battery on my record, and the reason I had assault and battery was because … during a, um, a game [at recess], one of the balls, like, hit the girl in the face. Like, I had — I wasn’t [even] taken to the principal’s office …. But they just threw that on my record ….” (Age group 20‑29) Can you imagine? An assault and battery record because of a GAME?!? Just ridiculous. There are so many more personal stories we could share, you can read the entire report HERE.

Source: kristian sekulic / Getty You ever find yourself tired and busy all time, even in moments where you could be taking it easy but you decide not to because you don’t like idle time? If you answered yes, Houston, we have a problem. We’ve all been there, but it’s hard to recognize in the moment. If you identify with the red flags listed by Madame Noire below, it’s time for you to relax. Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing! Please be sure to open and click your first newsletter so we can confirm your subscription. Email Submit 1. Your “chill” days involve errands When you tell yourself you’ll do “nothing” on a Saturday, that means you’ll pick up a prescription, pick up some items from a home goods store, take a fitness class, list items on Ebay, and re-organize your closet. 2. If you stay home you must clean If you force yourself to simply stay home and not run errands on your “chill” day, you always wind up cleaning. You tell yourself you’ll just sweep that one area, but suddenly you’ve bleached the tubs and sinks, cleaned all the windows, dusted every shelf, and the day is gone. 3. You require 24/7 Wi-Fi on vacation You are diligent about making sure you’ll always have access to Wi-Fi on your trip. You’ve requested the days off. Nobody should be emailing you about work. But you can’t stand the idea of not having the option to work at any given moment. 4. You only read books about your career You can’t remember the last time you read a book for pleasure. Every book is about business or career tips. Every book is teaching you a new skill or knowledge you can use in your career. You never just read a romance novel or a humorous book. 5. You over-pack your weekends You think you relax on weekends because you socialize, but you over-socialize. You say yes to 10 am yoga with one friend, noon lunch with another, 2pm coffee with another friend, 5pm drinks with this buddy, and dinner with that one. Socializing should leave you feeling energized but the way you do it leaves you feeling exhausted. 6. You must always watch the clock You always know what time it is. You never let yourself experience the luxury of not watching the clock. You just over-schedule your life so much that you can’t afford to not know what time it is at all times. 7. Having an unscheduled day makes you panic Waking up and realize you’ve planned nothing for your Saturday makes you panic. You instantly text 11 friends to see if they want to meet up and you start looking around your home for DIY projects. You’re almost afraid to see what would happen if you just did nothing. Joycelyn Savage’s Family Believes R. Kelly Coached Her To Lie To Cops

Go here to see the original:

Source: Scott Olson / Getty The family of Joycelyn Savage is convinced that R. Kelly has some manner of control over her, to the point they say the R&B singer has coached her up to lie to the cops. The family has handed over evidence of this to the police after authorities traveled to Atlanta to collect the information. TMZ reports : Law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation tell TMZ … federal investigators in New York involved in the R. Kelly sex trafficking probe flew to Atlanta last week to meet with the Savage family … and received a treasure trove of digital evidence. We’re told the Savages had lots of digital records that they say display shady tactics from both R. Kelly and folks who were working for him, including a woman named Cheryl Mack … an ex-assistant who allegedly facilitated a meeting between Joycelyn and R. Kelly early on. According to our sources, the records show Mack had arranged for Joycelyn to fly to Palm Springs to see R. Kelly in 2015. We’re told that meeting led to Joycelyn dropping everything and moving in with him, without her parents’ knowledge. For the record, Joycelyn was 19 at the time this happened. She has been living with him since then. The outlet adds that the family has emails and recordings of Kelly instructing Savage to conceal the true nature of their relationship should investigators come sniffing around.
