Jeremy Renner is the latest true star to go off on Kim Kardashian and her family. First, Daniel Craig referred to the Kardashians as ” f-cking idiots .” Then, of course, it was Jon Hamm’s turn to slam Kim in particular . More recently, – in a wide-ranging interview with The Guardian that delves into the impressive path this Oscar nominee has traveled – Renner was asked about The First Family of Reality Television and held nothing back in his response: He referred to Kim, Khloe and company as “those ridiculous people with zero talent who spend their lives making sure everyone knows their name. Those stupid, stupid people.” Renner is enjoying a tremendous 2012, having starred in mega hits such as The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy . But we think this is his best move yet.
Give Jean-Claude Van Damme points for honesty. We guess. Interviewed by The Guardian this week, in promotion of The Expendables 2 , the martial arts expert confirmed a long-time rumor: that he cheated on then-wife Darcy LaPier with singer Kylie Minogue during the 1994 filming of Street Fighter . “Yes, yes, yes. It happened. I was in Thailand, we had an affair,” said Van Damme, who has been married to Gladys Portugues since 1999. For some reason, he then added of the fling: “Sweet kiss, beautiful lovemaking. It would be abnormal not to have had an affair, she’s so beautiful and she was there in front of me every day with a beautiful smile, simpatico, so charming, she wasn’t acting like a big star. I knew Thailand very well, so I showed her my Thailand. She’s a great lady.” The actor does have a point. Even at 43, Minogue can seriously work it . Really, it would be abnormal for any married man not to toss his vows in the trash just for one night with the beautiful artist. [Photo: WENN.com]

So Lionsgate quietly — like, very quietly — released its long-shelved Miley Cyrus “comedy” LOL into 105 theaters over the weekend. Director Lisa Azuelos’s English-language remake of her own French hit from 2008 suffered for it, too, grossing a total of just $46,500 — less overall than The Avengers made per screen . LOL ‘s $440-per-theater average is by far the lowest of Cyrus’s career and something of a fork in the road for the young star, who must now decide if she wants to spend the next five years before she inevitably poses for Playboy either chasing down increasingly elusive theatrical opportunities like “Snack-Bar Girl #3” in the next Kevin James film or signing a stable four-picture deal with Hallmark Channel or… whatever else is out there. Critics weren’t kind, either. “That Lionsgate gave this star vehicle such a half-hearted theatrical dump May 4,” wrote Variety critic Joe Leydon, “speaks volumes about the dimmed wattage of toplined Miley Cyrus, whose charisma-free performance may in turn serve as a cautionary example for teen pop phenoms seeking to break out into ‘mature’ screen roles.” Meanwhile, Cyrus was introspective today on Twitter: Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL. It is a film I loved making and I am proud of…. That's really all that matters to me. ❤— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) May 07, 2012 No worries, Miley! Your friends in the Occupy movement are surely happy to see you’ve moved beyond mere dollars and cents. Surely you’ve got Hollywood right where you want it. [ Movie City News via Yahoo! ] Follow S.T. Everyone knows there are kicks aplenty in the 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme muy thai action classic Kickboxer , in which the Muscles from Brussels portrayed an American avenging his brother against a fearsome Thai fighter. But you really get an appreciation for just how many bone-crunching legs and feet and knees were unleashed in the action classic in this brilliantly hilarious, deceptively simple supercut that whittles Kickboxer down to, well, just the kicks. Your Monday must-watch is here. The crazy thing about this supercut is that, in addition to being strangely mesmerizing at times, the chronological edit comprised only of onscreen kicking scenes completely conveys Van Damme’s entire emotional arc as he goes from supportive cornerman to avenger-in-training to ring champ. It’s also a reminder of just how majestic Van Damme was in his prime, doing split kicks in mid-air and roundhousing heads left and right all young and oiled up and stretchy… Watch below and celebrate the kickingest movie of our time!
