The X Factor Recap: Top 6 Go Unplugged

The X Factor Top 6 performed two songs apiece on last night’s episode, one unplugged performance and one track chosen by America. How did they do? By and large, the unplugged efforts were pretty decent, America’s choices left something to be desired, and Khloe Kardashian really needs to be fired. Let’s break down the performers, from top to bottom … Carly Rose Sonenclar – As Long As You Love Me (The X Factor) Carly Rose Sonenclar – If I Were a Boy (The X Factor) 1. Carly Rose Sonenclar – “As Long as You Love Me” (Unplugged) and “If I Were a Boy” (America’s Choice) Carly Rose was spot-on throughout her unplugged performance, and probably delivered the best version of America’s picks as well, paying homage to Beyonce. 2. Emblem3 – “Just the Way You Are” (Unplugged) and “Forever Young” (America’s Choice) The guys still have some pitch issues, but at least they’re different – for a show like this anyway – and energetic and they brought it again with a pair of strong efforts. 3. Tate Stevens – “Living On a Prayer” (Unplugged) and “If Tomorrow Never Comes” (America’s Choice) Tate skipping out on the high note in the chorus sort of hampered his first performance; his Garth Brooks cover also wasn’t great; perfectly fine, just unexceptional. Still, not bad. 4. CeCe Frey – “Edge of Glory” (Unplugged) and “Part of Me” (America’s Choice) CeCe showed she has a great voice with “Edge of Glory,” even if it still needs work. Sadly, the “Part of Me” background track completely diverged from and overpowered her. 5. Fifth Harmony – “Set Fire to the Rain” (Unplugged) and “Give Your Heart a Break” (America’s Choice) They struggled to harmonize unplugged, plain and simple. While covering Demi Lovato ‘s hit, they did sing in harmony and sound more like a group, so that’s good. The bad news is that it still might not be good enough to advance. 6. Diamond White – “It’s a Man’s World” (Unplugged) and “Diamonds” (America’s Choice) Sorry to say, but Diamond’s age (13) really shone through here, and not in a good way. As for America’s choice, OMG, they picked a song with her name in it! That’s about it. Might be the end of the road for Ms. White tonight. With only four spots in the semifinals, it’s anyone’s game … okay, probably not anyone’s. Carly Rose Sonenclar looks pretty safe. Everyone else might be sweating. Who should win The X Factor? Hope Solo: Jerramy Stevens NEVER Beat Me!

U.S. soccer star Hope Solo insists husband Jerramy Stevens never laid a hand on her, despite the former NFL player’s arrest for domestic violence two weeks ago. Hope Solo married him the next DAY, so that’s hopefully an encouraging sign. There was wide speculation that Stevens attacked Solo during a house party at their residence, but she just released a statement, claiming that never happened: “My beautiful husband & i happy as can be! [sic] Let me set the record straight!!! Jerramy has NEVER treated me poorly! The truth always prevails!” Jerramy Stevens was arrested again last night for violating his probation. The domestic violence bust following the November 12 incident, when cops were called and found blood on Hope Solo’s elbow, triggered that violation. Jerramy was released after a judge decided there wasn’t evidence to charge him, but even suspicion of a crime can lead to the revocation of probation. Stevens has been on probation for a previous drug possession charge from October 2010 when he was nabbed after cops found a baggie of pot on him. He was playing for NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the time. Earlier today, Solo called out people for judging Stevens. “I feel bad for all the ignorance in the world,” the 31-year-old wrote. “People are so quick to judge. The media spins stories in such dramatic fashion.” “I will Continue to show love, and never make judgements. I am blessed w True Love & the beautiful game of soccer. I wish everybody the same happiness.” Read more celebrity gossip at: http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2012/11/jerramy-stevens-arrested-hope-solos-husband-in-jail-for-probatio/#ixzz2DfkUvXwl Read more celebrity gossip at: http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2012/11/jerramy-stevens-arrested-hope-solos-husband-in-jail-for-probatio/#ixzz2DfkUvXwl

The X Factor Results: Let’s Talk About Six

We’re down to the special six on The X Factor , as two more contestants were sent home tonight. Up first, just eight minutes and 12 irritating Khloe Kardashian remarks into the broadcast, PAIGE THOMAS heard her name called as the first singer eliminated. It then came down to two surprising selections, considering the performance of CeCe Frey on Wednesday: Diamond White and Vino Alan sang for their X Factor lives. Diamond went with “I Was Here,” while Vino hopde to avoid “Trouble.” Watch both renditions here: Diamond White – “I Was Here” Vino Alan – “Trouble” So, what say you, judges? With only L.A. Reid choosing to give Diamond the boot, VINO ALAN became the second finalist eliminated. Do you agree with these choices?   No way, Paige deserved to stay! Nope, Vino all the way! Yes, but I wish them luck! View Poll » Here’s a look at how America has ranked the remaining six: Carly Rose Sonnenclar Tate Stevens Emblem3 Fifth Harmony Cece Frey Diamond White

The X Factor Recap: Giving Thanks For…

The X Factor celebrated Thanksgiving a day early tonight, as the top 10 finalists dedicated various hits to those for whom they are thankful. Which singer stuffed his or her rendition with impressive talent? Which laid a (turkey) egg? Read on a quick rundown and vote on your favorite from the two-hour episode… CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens , “I’m Already There” – Britney called it “special.” We say it was closer to “safe,” which is perfectly fine for this consistent contender. Diamond White , “Because You Loved Me” – Demi was “blown away” – and for good reason. Combined talent very well with emotion. Emblem3 , “Secrets” – All flash. Very little substance. Focus on the vocals and not the hotness, ladies, and there’s not much here. Arin Ray , “Hero” – Dedicated to his brother… which means he must hate his brother. Just a terrible version of a cheesy ballad. CeCe Frey , “Wind Beneath My Wings” – In memory of her late sister, who died at the age of 7 from Cerebral Palsy. Raw, emotional, stunning. We were moved. Fifth Harmony , “I’ll Stand By You” – Definitely the best group performance. Solid arrangement, executed well, should move on. Beatrice Miller , “Chasing Cars” – A somewhat odd song choice, but Britney believes it was her “best vocal performance by far.” We disagree. How about you? Vino Alan , “Proud to be an American” – Yes, he really did hold a flag in his hand. Utterly forced, contrived and way too sappy, even on a night like tonight. Paige Thomas , “Everytime” – She went Britney and didn’t do a terrible job. Got the Spears seal of approval, but L.A., Simon and Demi all think she may be voted off this week. Carly Rose Sonenclar , “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” – Just terrific. Someone had to go with this single, right? We’re just thankful it was Carly Rose. Could easily win it all. What did YOU think? Who was the best of the night?   CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens – “I’m Already There” Diamond White – “Because You Loved Me” Emblem3 – “Secrets” Arin Ray – “Hero” Fifth Harmony – “I’ll Stand By You” Beatrice Miller – “Chasing Cars” Paige Thomas – “Everytime” Vino Alan – “Proud to Be an American” View Poll »

Dinah Jane Hansen vs. Diamond White: Who Won?

The X Factor brought the battles to Boot Camp last night. Speeding through auditions on the way to choosing its final 24, the show pitted hopeful against hopeful last night, with one round seeing Dinah Jane Hansen and Diamond White each singing a verse from Kelly Clarkon’s “Stronger.” Dinah Jane Hansen Versus Diamond White Hansen, unfortunately, flubbed a few of the lyrics, while White – whose rendition of ” I Have Nothing ” we adored – was sweet and brilliant as ever. Watch the video above and decide: Who won this battle?   Dinah Jane Hansen Diamond White View Poll »

Jessica Espinoza Goes Pink for X Factor Audition

Jessica Espinoza is only 22 years old. She’s unemployed. She grew up in difficult, poor circumstances on the south side of San Antonio. In other words: this hopeful definitely possessed the sort of sympathetic backstory producers look for on The X Factor . But could she provide the vocals that would take her to the next round? You tell us, THG readers: Watch Espinoza belt out a version of Pink’s “Nobody Knows” and decide if you’d want to see more of her on the Fox competition…
