Carly Rose Sonenclar Family Blames LeAnn Rimes for X Factor Loss

Tate Stevens has won Season 2 of The X Factor . But did LeAnn Rimes actually swing the voting in the direction of this aspiring country music star? Yes, according to the family of runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar, following that 13-year old’s duet of “How Do I Live” on Wednesday’s final performance show. Watch it here: LeAnn Rimes and Carly Rose Sonenclar – How Do I Live Talk of LeAnn Rimes drunk on stage circulated after the wobbly rendition, with the troubled singer’s rep initially blaming Sonenclar for his client’s woes, telling TMZ Rimes was trying to help a “nervous” Carly Rose. Is that really what the above performance looks like to anyone else? Rimes went on to claim she never uttered a negative word about Sonenclar, but TMZ is standing by the rep’s quote. Insiders say that Sonenclar’s mother and other relatives are simply aghast that Rimes would direct any blame at all toward Carly Rose, especially considering how she clearly out-sang LeAnn on-air. What do you think? Should Rimes take any of the blame? And did Stevens deserve to win The X Factor?   Yes, he was my favorite! No way, Carly Rose rules! Fifth Harmony forever! View Poll »

The X Factor Recap: Top 6 Go Unplugged

The X Factor Top 6 performed two songs apiece on last night’s episode, one unplugged performance and one track chosen by America. How did they do? By and large, the unplugged efforts were pretty decent, America’s choices left something to be desired, and Khloe Kardashian really needs to be fired. Let’s break down the performers, from top to bottom … Carly Rose Sonenclar – As Long As You Love Me (The X Factor) Carly Rose Sonenclar – If I Were a Boy (The X Factor) 1. Carly Rose Sonenclar – “As Long as You Love Me” (Unplugged) and “If I Were a Boy” (America’s Choice) Carly Rose was spot-on throughout her unplugged performance, and probably delivered the best version of America’s picks as well, paying homage to Beyonce. 2. Emblem3 – “Just the Way You Are” (Unplugged) and “Forever Young” (America’s Choice) The guys still have some pitch issues, but at least they’re different – for a show like this anyway – and energetic and they brought it again with a pair of strong efforts. 3. Tate Stevens – “Living On a Prayer” (Unplugged) and “If Tomorrow Never Comes” (America’s Choice) Tate skipping out on the high note in the chorus sort of hampered his first performance; his Garth Brooks cover also wasn’t great; perfectly fine, just unexceptional. Still, not bad. 4. CeCe Frey – “Edge of Glory” (Unplugged) and “Part of Me” (America’s Choice) CeCe showed she has a great voice with “Edge of Glory,” even if it still needs work. Sadly, the “Part of Me” background track completely diverged from and overpowered her. 5. Fifth Harmony – “Set Fire to the Rain” (Unplugged) and “Give Your Heart a Break” (America’s Choice) They struggled to harmonize unplugged, plain and simple. While covering Demi Lovato ‘s hit, they did sing in harmony and sound more like a group, so that’s good. The bad news is that it still might not be good enough to advance. 6. Diamond White – “It’s a Man’s World” (Unplugged) and “Diamonds” (America’s Choice) Sorry to say, but Diamond’s age (13) really shone through here, and not in a good way. As for America’s choice, OMG, they picked a song with her name in it! That’s about it. Might be the end of the road for Ms. White tonight. With only four spots in the semifinals, it’s anyone’s game … okay, probably not anyone’s. Carly Rose Sonenclar looks pretty safe. Everyone else might be sweating. Who should win The X Factor? The X Factor Recap: Giving Thanks For…

The X Factor celebrated Thanksgiving a day early tonight, as the top 10 finalists dedicated various hits to those for whom they are thankful. Which singer stuffed his or her rendition with impressive talent? Which laid a (turkey) egg? Read on a quick rundown and vote on your favorite from the two-hour episode… CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens , “I’m Already There” – Britney called it “special.” We say it was closer to “safe,” which is perfectly fine for this consistent contender. Diamond White , “Because You Loved Me” – Demi was “blown away” – and for good reason. Combined talent very well with emotion. Emblem3 , “Secrets” – All flash. Very little substance. Focus on the vocals and not the hotness, ladies, and there’s not much here. Arin Ray , “Hero” – Dedicated to his brother… which means he must hate his brother. Just a terrible version of a cheesy ballad. CeCe Frey , “Wind Beneath My Wings” – In memory of her late sister, who died at the age of 7 from Cerebral Palsy. Raw, emotional, stunning. We were moved. Fifth Harmony , “I’ll Stand By You” – Definitely the best group performance. Solid arrangement, executed well, should move on. Beatrice Miller , “Chasing Cars” – A somewhat odd song choice, but Britney believes it was her “best vocal performance by far.” We disagree. How about you? Vino Alan , “Proud to be an American” – Yes, he really did hold a flag in his hand. Utterly forced, contrived and way too sappy, even on a night like tonight. Paige Thomas , “Everytime” – She went Britney and didn’t do a terrible job. Got the Spears seal of approval, but L.A., Simon and Demi all think she may be voted off this week. Carly Rose Sonenclar , “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” – Just terrific. Someone had to go with this single, right? We’re just thankful it was Carly Rose. Could easily win it all. What did YOU think? Who was the best of the night?   CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens – “I’m Already There” Diamond White – “Because You Loved Me” Emblem3 – “Secrets” Arin Ray – “Hero” Fifth Harmony – “I’ll Stand By You” Beatrice Miller – “Chasing Cars” Paige Thomas – “Everytime” Vino Alan – “Proud to Be an American” View Poll »
