Suzy Favor Hamilton, Former Olympian, Apologizes for Life as an Escort

Suzy Favor Hamilton, a former U.S. Olympian in track and field, issued a formal apology today after her life as an escort in Las Vegas was exposed. In a story on The Smoking Gun , the 44-year old admitted she has worked under the alias ” Kelly Lundy ,” for the past year, selling herself for $600 an hour. Favor Hamilton lives with her husband, Mark, and seven-year daughter and told the website that the former “tried to stop” her and “wasn’t supportive” of the escort lifestyle at all. We wonder why. “I take full responsibility for my mistakes. I’m not the victim and I’m not going that route,” Favor Hamilton said. “I’m owning up to what I did. I would not blame anybody except myself. Everybody in this world makes mistakes. I made a huge mistake. Huge.” What was the appeal of this vocation? The runner took to Twitter today and tried to explain: “I was drawn to escorting in large part because it provided many coping mechanisms for me when I was going through a very challenging time with my marriage and my life. It provided an escape from a life that I was struggling in. It was a double life.” Favor Hamilton competed in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics; she did not medal in any of the events, but was a nine-time NCAA champion at the University of Wisconsin. “I cannot emphasize enough how sorry I am to anyone I have hurt as a result of my actions and greatly appreciate the support from family and those closest to me,” the runner Tweeted. “I fully intend to make amends and get back to being a good mother, wife, daughter, and friend.”

LeAnn Rimes: I Was NOT DRUNK on X Factor!

LeAnn Rimes swears she was not drunk on The X Factor last night, despite a head-scratching performance and a lot of speculation regarding it. The 30-year-old strongly denies earlier celebrity gossip reports that she was impaired during her duet with finalist Carly Rose Sonenclar on Wednesday. The singer was “in no way impaired,” and any awkwardness was from “trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song.” LeAnn, through her lawyer Larry Stein, said Carly was nervous and had difficulty with some of the notes, and she was doing her best to help her through it. Her performance seemed over-the-top to many, almost as if LeAnn were trying to upstage Carly, but her camp says people are reading too much into it. Stein says that “LeAnn was not performing the way she would normally perform,” but adds that it was only “because she was on stage with a young girl .” LeAnn Rimes and Carly Rose Sonenclar – How Do I Live LeAnn does not understand the speculation, but Stein theorizes, “There have been a lot of untrue things said by others and it feeds into this sort of thing.” Talking to YOU, Brandi Glanville !

The X Factor Recap: Top 6 Go Unplugged

The X Factor Top 6 performed two songs apiece on last night’s episode, one unplugged performance and one track chosen by America. How did they do? By and large, the unplugged efforts were pretty decent, America’s choices left something to be desired, and Khloe Kardashian really needs to be fired. Let’s break down the performers, from top to bottom … Carly Rose Sonenclar – As Long As You Love Me (The X Factor) Carly Rose Sonenclar – If I Were a Boy (The X Factor) 1. Carly Rose Sonenclar – “As Long as You Love Me” (Unplugged) and “If I Were a Boy” (America’s Choice) Carly Rose was spot-on throughout her unplugged performance, and probably delivered the best version of America’s picks as well, paying homage to Beyonce. 2. Emblem3 – “Just the Way You Are” (Unplugged) and “Forever Young” (America’s Choice) The guys still have some pitch issues, but at least they’re different – for a show like this anyway – and energetic and they brought it again with a pair of strong efforts. 3. Tate Stevens – “Living On a Prayer” (Unplugged) and “If Tomorrow Never Comes” (America’s Choice) Tate skipping out on the high note in the chorus sort of hampered his first performance; his Garth Brooks cover also wasn’t great; perfectly fine, just unexceptional. Still, not bad. 4. CeCe Frey – “Edge of Glory” (Unplugged) and “Part of Me” (America’s Choice) CeCe showed she has a great voice with “Edge of Glory,” even if it still needs work. Sadly, the “Part of Me” background track completely diverged from and overpowered her. 5. Fifth Harmony – “Set Fire to the Rain” (Unplugged) and “Give Your Heart a Break” (America’s Choice) They struggled to harmonize unplugged, plain and simple. While covering Demi Lovato ‘s hit, they did sing in harmony and sound more like a group, so that’s good. The bad news is that it still might not be good enough to advance. 6. Diamond White – “It’s a Man’s World” (Unplugged) and “Diamonds” (America’s Choice) Sorry to say, but Diamond’s age (13) really shone through here, and not in a good way. As for America’s choice, OMG, they picked a song with her name in it! That’s about it. Might be the end of the road for Ms. White tonight. With only four spots in the semifinals, it’s anyone’s game … okay, probably not anyone’s. Carly Rose Sonenclar looks pretty safe. Everyone else might be sweating. Who should win The X Factor? The X Factor Results: Let’s Talk About Six

We’re down to the special six on The X Factor , as two more contestants were sent home tonight. Up first, just eight minutes and 12 irritating Khloe Kardashian remarks into the broadcast, PAIGE THOMAS heard her name called as the first singer eliminated. It then came down to two surprising selections, considering the performance of CeCe Frey on Wednesday: Diamond White and Vino Alan sang for their X Factor lives. Diamond went with “I Was Here,” while Vino hopde to avoid “Trouble.” Watch both renditions here: Diamond White – “I Was Here” Vino Alan – “Trouble” So, what say you, judges? With only L.A. Reid choosing to give Diamond the boot, VINO ALAN became the second finalist eliminated. Do you agree with these choices?   No way, Paige deserved to stay! Nope, Vino all the way! Yes, but I wish them luck! View Poll » Here’s a look at how America has ranked the remaining six: Carly Rose Sonnenclar Tate Stevens Emblem3 Fifth Harmony Cece Frey Diamond White

The X Factor Results: Fowl Play?

We are down to eight contestants on The X Factor . The Fox competition scoffed in the face of family and football tonight, airing a results show that ended with two more acts being cut and the team of Britney Spears suffering mightily as a result. First up immediately? Arin Ray got the axe as the contestant with the lowest number of overall votes. “I think you should just take this as a learning experience,” Britney coldly told her charge after the announcement. CeCe Frey – “Because of You” Beatrice Miller – “White Flag” From there, following a performance by Cher Lloyd, the identity of the bottom two was revealed. Beatice Miller and CeCe Frey . The former went with Dido and the latter Kelly Clarkson (above) for their respective survival songs, as only Spears sided with Miller, making Beatrice Miller the second singer eliminated on the evening . So we’re down to eight, with Carly Rose Sonenclar the new overall votes leader. Do you agree with that result? And are the proper eight moving on?   Yes, well done, judges! No, Beatrice deserved to stay! No, Arin deserved to stay! View Poll »
