2 Chainz Takes It To American Deli In His New Visual For “Hot Wings” [Video]
Source: Prince Williams / Getty 2 Chainz Drops A Very Fitting Video For His Track “Hot Wings” All the way back in 2018, 2 Chainz dropped a two-song EP titled Hot Wings Are a Girl’s Best Friend , and luckily for us, he’s made videos for both songs. The “Girls Best Friend” video came out in December with some help from Ty Dolla $ign, and now, it’s time for “Hot Wings” to get its shine. As one might imagine, the video takes place in and outside of an actual chicken spot–American Deli, of course–where Chainz is surrounded by some fellow wing enthusiasts. My name is Anna and I’m a 15 year old belieber from Sweden. I am so happy that I finally get to write my own Bieber experience after waiting for 4 years. On April 22, 2013 two of my biggest dreams came true. I met my idol, my inspiration, my everything, I met Justin Drew Bieber and I went to his concert. Lets go about a year back when I first found out that Justin Bieber was coming to Sweden. I wanted a ticket to his concert but they sold out so fast that I didn’t get one. In December 2012 I found meet & greet tickets on sale and asked my dad if he could buy one for me but he said they were way too expensive. On January 15 I saw that there was only one meet & greet ticket left so I called my dad and begged him to buy it for me, and he did! I was so happy, I just sat in my bed shaking, crying and tried to understand that I was going to meet Justin Drew Bieber. When I was able to stand up I told mom and she was so happy for me. On Sunday April 21 my mom and I went to Stockholm (it takes about 5 hours with train) and when we arrived, we stayed at the hotel right next to the Ericsson Globe. I saw Justin’s tour bus. I barley slept that night because I was so excited about meeting Justin and going to his concert. The next day we went to the Bellingham Gate which is the VIP entrance. A security guard told us to go to another entrance. After almost an hour of waiting, we got inside and got our wristbands and tickets. We sat down to wait for Justin to come and after a while, Kenny came to say hi to us . I was so nervous, excited, and happy! Finally it was my turn. When I saw Justin I thought I was going to faint. There he was right in front of me and he was so beautiful. His hair, his eyes, his lips, his face, his body, his scent, his clothes, everything was perfect. I walked into the little “room” where Justin was and I put my jacket on the floor. Justin reached out his arm and gently pulled me towards him. Justin held his arm around me and I held mine around him. That was absolutely the best moment in my whole life. I was standing right next to Justin Bieber who is the reason I believe, the reason I smile and the reason I live. Justin is my everything and I love him over everyone and everything. Words can’t describe my love and appreciation for him. They took the picture of us and before I could realize anything, the security guard had pulled me out of the room. It happened so fast and I was shocked. I wanted to hug Justin and tell him that I love him but there wasn’t enough time and I was too chocked up to say anything. I started crying because I was so happy that I had met Justin but at the same time I was so sad that it was over. I got my merchandise and went into the arena and down to the Golden Circle. They played some of Michael Jackson’s songs while everyone was waiting for the concert to begin. The countdown began and those were the 10 longest minutes of my life. I saw Justin with his wings and I almost passed out. He was so beautiful and seeing him flying in on his wings was magical. Seeing Justin Bieber perform live was amazing! His beautiful, prefect voice makes my heart melt. Justin was so amazing and I couldn’t be more proud of him! Beliebers, keep believing and never say never. The X Factor celebrated Thanksgiving a day early tonight, as the top 10 finalists dedicated various hits to those for whom they are thankful. Which singer stuffed his or her rendition with impressive talent? Which laid a (turkey) egg? Read on a quick rundown and vote on your favorite from the two-hour episode… CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Tate Stevens , “I’m Already There” – Britney called it “special.” We say it was closer to “safe,” which is perfectly fine for this consistent contender. Diamond White , “Because You Loved Me” – Demi was “blown away” – and for good reason. Combined talent very well with emotion. Emblem3 , “Secrets” – All flash. Very little substance. Focus on the vocals and not the hotness, ladies, and there’s not much here. Arin Ray , “Hero” – Dedicated to his brother… which means he must hate his brother. Just a terrible version of a cheesy ballad. CeCe Frey , “Wind Beneath My Wings” – In memory of her late sister, who died at the age of 7 from Cerebral Palsy. Raw, emotional, stunning. We were moved. Fifth Harmony , “I’ll Stand By You” – Definitely the best group performance. Solid arrangement, executed well, should move on. Beatrice Miller , “Chasing Cars” – A somewhat odd song choice, but Britney believes it was her “best vocal performance by far.” We disagree. How about you? Vino Alan , “Proud to be an American” – Yes, he really did hold a flag in his hand. Utterly forced, contrived and way too sappy, even on a night like tonight. Paige Thomas , “Everytime” – She went Britney and didn’t do a terrible job. Got the Spears seal of approval, but L.A., Simon and Demi all think she may be voted off this week. Carly Rose Sonenclar , “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” – Just terrific. Someone had to go with this single, right? We’re just thankful it was Carly Rose. Could easily win it all. What did YOU think? First Look: Bebe Neuwirth Has Sympathy For the Understudy in The Standbys
It’s a tough life being a Broadway standby — knowing a part backward and forward, exhibiting months, even years of patience while literally waiting in the wings for your chance to play the role you’re backing up for the star of the show. On the bright side, at least now you’d have an entire film telling your story — one for which Movieline is pleased to present a first look ahead of The Standbys world premiere this weekend in New York. Directed by Stephanie Riggs, The Standbys introduces viewers to a few of the performers who’ve made livings — and eventually, in some cases, made names — in some of the most thankless positions in all of theater: Standby and understudy. The documentary opens the Tony Awards Film Series this Saturday at the Paley Center in Manhattan; below, have quick glimpse at the film, featuring the sobering insights of Broadway icon Bebe Neuwirth. Here’s more about The Standbys and this Saturday’s screening; we’ll keep you up to date about a theatrical and/or video release as events warrant: This dramatic documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of performers rarely glimpsed by audiences. These performers, known as “standbys,” remain backstage, prepared to go on at a moment’s notice. In this evocative behind-the-scenes documentary, the at times heartbreaking and hilarious lives of Broadway’s understudies and standbys are finally brought into the spotlight. “The Standbys” follows three undiscovered performers for several years through their ups and downs, struggles and triumphs, onstage performances and private lives. When these standbys are finally given the chance of a lifetime, anything can – and does – happen. The film features never-before-heard stories from industry insiders and celebrities who reveal the unimaginable struggles these under-appreciated performers endure as they wait in the wings for their shot at a dream that may never come true. The Standbys screening will be followed by a talk-back panel of Tony Award-winning Broadway stars who got their start as understudies or standbys. [Panelists include Tony Award Winners Katie Finneran and Cady Huffman, Merwin Foard, Ben Crawford, Alena Watters and director Stephanie Riggs.] The Standbys follows actors Ben Crawford (standby for Shrek), Merwin Foard (standby for Gomez in The Addams Family) and up and comer Aléna Watters (standby for Anita in West Side Story). James Durbin Soars With Paul McCartney Cover On ‘American Idol’
‘Dangerous’ Durbin surprises judges with his rendition of the Wings staple ‘Maybe I’m Amazed.’ By Adam Graham James Durbin performs on “American Idol” Wednesday Photo: FOX James Durbin has one of those big, overpowering voices that can be difficult to rein in. But on Wednesday’s (March 9) episode of “American Idol,” he was able to keep it in check, and turned in one of the evening’s standout performances. After tearing through Judas Priest’s heavy metal classic “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ ” on last week’s show, one may have expected Durbin to go back to the metal playbook this week, when contestants were asked to sing a song by one of their personal idols. Instead, Durbin threw a curveball and opted to sing Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed,” which was recorded by Wings in 1976 (and may be familiar to fans of “The O.C.” as the song played at Julie Cooper’s wedding in the season-one finale). Durbin said he admired McCartney for his versatility and for being one of the best musicians, writers and singers in rock history, and said he one day also hopes to be remembered in those terms. In the studio, Durbin teamed up with producer Jim Jonsin (Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” T.I.’s “Whatever You Like”) to work on the song’s arrangement, and Jonsin pumped up the song with a bit of a hip-hop backbeat. Interscope Records head honcho Jimmy Iovine praised Durbin’s mighty pipes, saying “Idol” is a perfect vehicle for a voice like Durbin ‘s to be discovered. “You don’t hear many voices like that,” he said. “I didn’t even know kids were out there singin’ like that!” On the “Idol” stage, Durbin — flaunting a fresh haircut, a clean-shaven face and without the scarf “tail” he wore last week — did justice to “Amazed,” and didn’t drive it over a cliff with his over-the-top vocal wails. Instead, he held back and showed a more reserved side of himself, and displayed a range, both vocally and emotionally, that proved he was more than the one-trick-pony/ Adam Lambert clone as his detractors had him pegged. The judges dug the way he changed things up and managed to “slay” it, in Randy Jackson’s words. “I was like, ‘Yo, this dude can do anything, man!” the Dawg told him. “James Durbin is dangerous, America. This guy can sing!” Steven Tyler followed suit, saying Durbin took everything he ever felt and “kicked it into the middle of next week” — apparently that’s a good thing — and Jennifer Lopez complimented his vocal skills. “The truth is you have what the greatest rock singers have, which is a melodic quality to your voice,” she said.
