Nas and Common Bring “Ghetto Dreams” To Reality (New Video)

Nothing fly or flashy over here but I think Common and Nas “Ghetto Dreams” video comes at a great time. The Throne is great but it’s about balance. Check out two of rap’s most poetic together for a mostly black and white visual. Common’s forthcoming album The Dreamer The Believer drops this fall. The Rose (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics

A video I made for Justin Bieber using the song “The Rose” by Westlife. Lyrics: Some say love it is a river that drowns the tender reed Some say love it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed Some say love it is a hunger an endless aching need I say love it is a flower and you its only seed It’s the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance It’s the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance It’s the one who won’t be taken who cannot seem to give and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long and you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows lies the seed that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose For Katey http://www.youtube.com/v/Py8kG8Ua2YE?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata Here is the original post: The Rose (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics

Everytime (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics

A video I made for Justin Bieber using the song “Everytime” by Britney Spears. Lyrics: Notice me, take my hand Why are we strangers when Our love is strong Why carry on without me Everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, it’s haunting me I guess I need you, baby I make believe that you are here It’s the only way I see clear What have I done You seem to move on easy And everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, you’re haunting me I guess I need you, baby I may have made it rain Please forgive me My weakness caused you pain And this song’s my sorry At night I pray That soon your face will fade away And everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, you’re haunting me I guess I need you, baby http://www.youtube.com/v/rdSYgG7RXB8?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata Excerpt from: Everytime (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics

One of the most frequent questions I get from people is “What is the secret to your success?” Honestly, the “secret” to MY success is the success of the people around me! Its true, I draw my motivation from others I see doing well. In life, we have a choice to be jealous when we see another person succeed or inspired by their success. My choice is the latter… I came across this quote and video of LL Cool J and it appears that he and I share the same ideology, here’s what he had to say on the topic: “You get in life what you give out. If you want the world to celebrate your success, you have to celebrate the success of the world. And use others’ success as motivation and inspiration to go after your dreams.”- L.L. Maria More’s Midday Motivation [Advice From A Hip-Hop Icon]

My name is Sarah. I was born March 29, 1996 and I’m 15…

My name is Sarah. I was born March 29, 1996 and I’m 15 years old. When I was 2, I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Not many people have heard about it and sometimes it makes me feel different from all the other kids I knew. Last year, my parents sent me to a treatment center connected with my school and said it was for kids who have matured and I will be there for the rest of the school year. Turns out, it was a treatment center for kids with bad problems. Some kids tease me and send death threats to me. Even though the school year already ended, I’m still there and I’m staying there maybe until January. I really felt like I was going to die and my life was over. I was madly in love with Justin Bieber and that was one of the things the kids teased me about. Even the staff teased me about it. They would call me “Sarah Bieber” or “Rosenbieber.” I felt miserable there. Some kids even drew on my Justin posters that I could not replace. Then one day I was doing art group there and a staff member told me that Justin Bieber was coming to Los Angeles that weekend for a book signing and I could go to it I my parents. I was thrilled. I called my parents right away to tell them. They told me I had school that day and they couldn’t take me to get the tickets. I had totally forgot about that, I was in my school’s Halloween fashion show that day and couldn’t miss out. Boy, I was surprised the next day when my mom came into my classroom and told me she got tickets to the signing for me, my cousin, and two friends to go and meet Justin Bieber! My mom had got up at 4:00 in the morning to go to The Grove and wait in line with a bunch of teenage girls and their moms to get the tickets. The tickets were $50.00 person and she also got one for herself cause all of us were under 18, so my mom spent over $100.00 so I can meet my dream man. At the signing, Justin was very nice. I waited 3 hours! I usually can’t stand waiting so long, but this was worth it. The best part was he put his arm around me! I was speechless the whole time! I even wrote a couple songs about it. I wrote a song called, “If This Was a Movie” about the day I met Justin. I will never forget the day that I actually felt special even though I had autism. Justin taught me to never give up on my dreams. My dream is to be a successful singer or actress. Because of Justin, I will never give up on that dreams. I hope he hasn’t forgotten about me! The picture I have of us together is on Twitter and Facebook! Every time I feel like a loser or I’m about to give up on something, I just look at the picture of us and remember what he has taught me. Someday I will achieve my dreams. I will never say never! Read more: My name is Sarah. I was born March 29, 1996 and I’m 15…

Casey Veggies Graduates, Despite Sleeping In Class

L.A. rapper made the honor roll while on the road, his mom and teacher share. By Steven Roberts, with additional reporting by Matt Elias Casey Veggies and his mother, Cynthia Jones Photo: MTV News The last year has been a breakout one for Los Angeles MC Casey Veggies , who released his third mixtape, Sleeping in Class, in December and toured with fellow up-and-comer Mac Miller in January. What’s more amazing is that while this was going on, he was still in school. And on June 16, Veggies (or, as his diploma says, Casey Jones) graduated from Inglewood High School on the honor roll. “On the first week of school, he gave me a link to a video of one of the songs that he has [on Sleeping in Class ], so my first impression of him was good, but I was a little concerned, because of the lyrics to the song,” Casey’s senior-year English teacher Shannon Kirk told MTV News. “It’s actually kind of ironic because [sleeping in class is] the last thing he would do in class. “Casey balances his work life and his school life better than I probably would have at his age,” Kirk added of her student, who did independent study while he was on the road. “He’s pretty mature for his age, and he was able to do pretty well. [He] was one of the top students in my class.” Veggies realized that he could have quit school to pursue his dreams, but he never felt the need to. He knew he could handle it, so why not get school done? As for college, though his mother says he was accepted to four schools, he’s postponing those plans while he sees where his rap career goes. “At the end of the day, I’m just dreaming right now,” Casey said. “I’m going to stay in my dream and don’t plan on waking up. If I do, maybe I’ll grab a college degree, but right now, I’m in my own world.” Kirk wouldn’t tell us Casey’s grades, but his mother, Cynthia Jones, was thrilled that her son made the honor roll. She said that education meant everything to her and her husband, and their goal was always for Casey and his older brother, Corey, to graduate high school and attend college as they had. Corey is currently a freshman at UC Riverside, but Casey had to convince her that he could take another route. “I had no idea that his music thing was going to come about the way it has,” Jones said. “This is different to accept, but he’s doing really well, so you have to let a person follow [their dreams]. You’re only young once. “I’m excited, I’m happy for him,” she continued, “and then I’m happy he doesn’t have to juggle these two lives, because it has been a juggle for him, so now he can concentrate on one thing.”

Laurieann Gibson: “Diddy Taught Me Without Talking”

Mrs. Boomkack is back and proving that she settles for nothing but the best! The Urban Daily ‘s Jazzy F. recently caught up to the fierce and feisty Laurieann Gibson and did an interview. Ms. Gibson opened up about what she learned from working with Diddy, how it feels to have two different TV shows running on two different networks and why she doesn’t settle for BS. Check out a few excerpts from the interview below: How does it feel to have not one, but two TV shows (E!’s “Dance Scene” and BET’s “Born To Dance) of your own? It feels amazing! It feels victorious. I can now tell you: you can make it. I can look at people who were laughed at, people who were told they couldn’t make it, people that are being held down by other people who are manipulating their gift to benefit themselves and say, “Yes, you can stand in line to help someone, but once that season is over, that person needs to give back to you.” And if you are designed to help someone then that is amazing, but if you are designed to birth something that God has for you I understand. It feels like “I am free” and it feels like “My gift can operate the way God designed it to.” It’s only gonna get better and we are not giving up anytime soon.” You’re pretty feisty and you have that fire in you. What is it that makes Laurieann say, “I am not going to take anyone’s BS”? [People's] BS is a projection. They want to crap all over you so you won’t do what you are called to do. I’m not letting that happen to me, my crew, or anybody. I am not letting them do it! What did you learn from Diddy after working so close with him for many years? My brother Diddy taught me about the business; he taught me without talking.  He helped prepare me for the position that I am currently in.  I often reflect on how I saw him operate. It wasn’t in a mean way or in an aggressive way, but in a way that he came from nothing. No one was going to take advantage of him. What I learned is: Don’t sacrifice your gift for anybody. Be willing to walk away or it jeopardizes your truth or creative instinct.  Be willing to walk away because then you will get your respect; you will develop your own sense of greatness. But don’t ride the fence and don’t risk your instinct to have a job or belong, because then you push yourself further away from your goal. I must say that Laurieann seems to have really come full circle since her days on “In Living Color.” It’s always inspiring to see our black women doing major things in their careers. Hopefully she continues to live out her dreams and continue to inspire. Check out the Laurieann Gibson’s full interview here ! E!
