Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette: Protecting Ricki is Priority #1

Emily Maynard wouldn’t reveal if she gets engaged on The Bachelorette this season, though she says she “was happy before the show, but really happy now.” She also says the road to the final rose was secondary to protecting her little girl . On a conference call with reporters, she described how that influenced things: “If I was a single 26-year-old without a daughter, I’d be doing the same things the other Bachelorettes did. But Ricki is always at the forefront of my mind.” “I wouldn’t get in a hot tub on a first date in my everyday life so I sure as hell am not going to do it on [TV]. I like to keep Ricki sheltered to a point.” “She’s not at an age where she can even begin to understand the reason for the cameras. I told her it was for a very elaborate home video that she could watch way down the road. … Ricki’s life was not really affected at all.” “She was very protected throughout the entire process. She didn’t see the guys. I got to spend a lot of time with her, take her to school and do all my mom stuff.” As for how Emily Maynard finally came around to doing the show? “I had a million reservations and I said no to anybody who would listen. But time went on, we started talking again, and they were so accommodating that it was [too] great an opportunity to pass up,” the 26-year-old explained. “I had a great group of guys. I had the time of my life and learned so much about myself. It was the best experience getting to travel and to give Ricki the opportunity to see things she wouldn’t have otherwise.” The guys came in having an image of me in their head but as they got to know me better, they all said, [I was] nothing like they thought. It was a good thing.” “I’m feisty and sassy. It takes a little bit for me to really feel comfortable but I’ve never been called ‘boring’ in my normal everyday life.” As for which guys make it to the end? The Bachelorette spoilers we’ve compiled so far give you a fairly good idea of who the leading candidates are …

‘James Bond 23’ To Return With Daniel Craig, Studio Says

MGM also announces a November 9, 2012, release date for the previously delayed ‘007’ film. By Kara Warner Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes Photo: Gabriel Bouys/ AFP There’s exciting news for James Bond fans! On Tuesday (January 11), after months of rumors about the fate of MGM — which owns the rights to the “007” franchise — the studio has given the 23rd film in the series a release date and secured “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace” star Daniel Craig to suit up as Bond once again. According to Deadline , the still-untitled film will be released worldwide on November 9, 2012, with Sam Mendes directing a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. While plot details are, as expected, heavily under wraps, we already know that in addition to Craig’s return, Dame Judi Dench will reprise her role as M. “I think I’m going to be needed in spring of 2011,” Dench told MTV News way back in 2009. “That’s a message I got. It would mean I could do something at the end of next year, something else, maybe be in the theater.” Among the other players still to be determined are a likely Bond girl, played in previous films by the likes of Halle Berry (“Die Another Day”), Teri Hatcher (“Tomorrow Never Dies”), Denise Richards (“The World Is Not Enough”) and the woman who started it all, classic beauty-in-a-bikini Ursula Andress (“Dr. No”). With regard to villains, Michael Sheen’s name has been tossed in the mix for the role of Blofeld , a character perhaps more well-known these days as the inspiration for Mike Myers’ Dr. Evil in the “Austin Powers” movies. But there’s no rule in Bond films that says the villain has to be male — or that there will only be one. Who’s your pick for the next Bond girl or Bond villain? Tell us in the comments! Ashton Kutcher A ‘Huge Fan’ Of ‘Jersey Shore’

‘I can fist-pump with the best of ’em,’ the ‘No Strings Attached’ star tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Ashton Kutcher Photo: MTV News By now, it’s pretty clear that “Jersey Shore” is here to stay. In addition to the cast being all over talk shows and the blogosphere, the show’s heavily hyped premiere last week netted a record-breaking 8.45 million viewers, making it the most-watched MTV series ever. Not only that, but Snooki told MTV News that she expects the cast will be game for doing the show for 20 more seasons or their “whole lives.” During our fun sit-down with the Snook-ster, she also mentioned personal highlights in meeting her celebrity fans, like Nicki Minaj and Ashton Kutcher. When we caught up with Kutcher recently as he promoted his upcoming romantic comedy “No Strings Attached,” we asked the former “Punk’d” star for his thoughts on the “Shore.” “I was on the ‘Jersey Shore’ bandwagon really early,” Kutcher said with a proud smile. “I met Mike [‘The Situation’ Sorrentino] and Snooki and Pauly D. I met them right after the first season. A good friend of mine started showing me all these pictures of all these guidos online, and then she was like, ‘Oh my God, you have to see this show,’ and so I started watching,” he explained. “I’m a huge fan of the show. I haven’t missed an episode.” Until we informed him that he had, in fact, missed the premiere the night before. “Did it start already? I was just talking about it yesterday. … I will have it on my Apple TV tonight,” he promised. And although Kutcher doesn’t have a favorite catchphrase from the show, he assured us that he can hang with the crew. “I can fist-pump with the best of ’em,” he said. Don’t miss “Jersey Shore,” airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

SHULI TO REPLACE ARTIE?

Howard Stern says he’s not the slightest bit interested in filling Artie Lange’s chair on the Howard Stern Show with another comedian. Stern did, however, enter into the dangerous “land of the hypothetical” this week by offering the name of someone he thinks would be up to the task of a daily gig on the HSS mainstage. And the name is Shuli Egar. Howard Stern made the initial Shuli revelation on Tuesday morning’s Howard Stern Show after Howard 100 News bloodhound Steve Langford reported that a movement had started on Facebook to make Egar Artie Lange’s replacement. Stern responded that Shuli Egar would be his choice if he ever decided to add an additional voice to the show. Howard Stern’s statement sent fans hungry for Artie Lange news into a tizzy. “I’m not putting anybody in the Artie chair,” Stern said firmly. “Shuli would be the guy that I would choose. If we needed another voice on the show it would be Shuli.” “Shuli could pull it off,” replied Stern. “It wasn’t meant like ‘Artie’s not coming back I’m looking for a replacement’. It was-if there was a guy-I said there are very few guys who could be an additional voice on the show. You know-I mean Robin and I and Fred, we’re doing the show for a billion years and it’s very satisfying to me, but if I felt we may want another voice in there, Shuli would be that guy. He knows how to pull back. He knows how to drop a line in that’s funny. He doesn’t get in the way. He comes up with funny original thoughts. I like Shuli.” Shuli Egar is currently a correspondent for Howard 100 News. He is a member of the Howard Stern Show’s unofficial stand-up comedy tour, “The Killers of Comedy”. He has also taken a permanent position on Sunday night’s Howard 101 spinoff show ‘Miserable Men’ since Reverend Bob Levy jumped ship last month. source: http://www.examiner.com/x-11279-Howard-Stern-Examiner~y2010m5d28-Howard-Stern-names-hypothetical-unofficial-nonreplacement-for-Artie-Lange-poll
