Source: Regina Wagner/Future Image/WENN.com / WENN Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus are calling an end to their one-year marriage. A rumored reason is that A$AP Rocky had something to do with driving a wedge between the couple. The Blast reports : Sources close to the former couple tell The Blast after Shaik was spotted hitting the club with A$AP Rocky back in May, the newlyweds officially called it quits. The 28-year-old Australian beauty was pictured alongside the hip-hop star at Cirque Le Soir Superclub in Monaco. Wearing a tight leather dress, Shaik definitely seemed to be having a good time with Rocky, and was also seen onstage when the star was performing. We’re told Ruckus, who was not with his wife of 1-year at the time, felt there was more going on than the pictures showed, and we’re told the incident was “the last straw” in their marriage. Yikes. Source: Jon Bromley / Getty The folks behind the French Open may have banned Serena Williams’ infamous Nike catsuit last year , but the tennis legend is back! And is armed with a new set of tennis garb fit for the empowering champ she is. On May 27, the 23-time Grand Slam champion arrived at her first match of the prestigious tournament rocking a wearing a custom-made design by Off-While’s Virgil Abloh for Nike, The Cut reported . The two-piece outfit, along with its matching cape, has a pretty strong message: “Mother, Champion, Queen, Goddess” written in French. Flip through the pics below: View this post on Instagram Let the Roland Garros begin. Here is my French Open look designed by @virgilabloh and @nike. A post shared by Serena Williams (@serenawilliams) on May 26, 2019 at 6:00am PDT After winning in three sets, in a post-match interview, Serena opened up to Associated Press about the meaning of her outfit. “[The words on the jacket] are things that mean a lot to me and reminders for me and for everyone that wants to wear it,” adding, “Just remind everyone that they can be champions and are queens. So I love that about it. It is a lot to carry, but so is being Serena Williams” This is the second time that the 37-year-old has worked with Abloh, who designed her amazing U.S. Open tutu outfit last year . As we previously reported, last year’s catsuit was more than just a fashion statement, it was also a means of preventing blood clots, which Serena has a history of developing. But that still didn’t stop French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicellli from updating the dress code to ban catsuits, saying “I think that sometimes we’ve gone too far … One must respect the game and the place.” As if Serena has ever disrespected this game. She is the game. We’re just glad to see her back! James Madison High School will turn away parents if they show up at the school wearing bonnets, pajamas, hair rollers or leggings. https://t.co/oUM9MxAd9f — Houston Chronicle (@HoustonChron) April 23, 2019 For discussion…. James Madison High School Principal Enforces Parent Dress Code There’s a HUGE debate happening on social media and it involves respectability politics, a Houston high school and a BLACK Principal that’s being labeled “elitist.” James Madison High School Principal Carlotta Outley Brown (above) is catching hell after she sent out a memo to parents banning them from wearing certain items of clothing to pick up their kids. “Parents, we do value you as a partner in your child’s education,” said Principal Brown in a letter to parents dated April 9. “However, please know we have to have standards, most of all we must have high standards. “No one can enter the building or be on the school premises wearing a satin cap or bonnet on their head for any reason,” she added. You also cannot wear a shower cap of any kind in the building.” Other banned items include bonnets, pajamas, hair rollers, leggings and sagging pants. KPRC-TV Houston reports that the dress code was established shortly after a parent attempted to enroll her child while wearing a headscarf and a “T-shirt dress.” You can see her in the below video. Parents (and social media) are crying foul and claiming that Principal Brown is being an elitist and classist. “I’m almost insulted,” Tomiko Miller, the mother of a Madison High School student told The Houston Chronicle. “I really think it was discriminatory, the language that was used. It was demeaning. And I’m African American — and if it’s misty outside and I have a hair bonnet on, I don’t see how that’s anyone’s business.” Zeph Capo, president of the Houston Federation of Teachers, is calling Principal Brown’s policy “classist,” “belittling” and “dismissive.” “I’m sorry — this principal may have plenty of money and time to go to the hairdresser weekly and have her stuff done,” he said. “Who are you to judge others who may not have the same opportunities that you do? Having a wrap on your head is not offensive. It should not be controversial.” Do YOU think this dress code policy for parents is fair or foul??? Is this classism or is she just encouraging decorum?

Every now and then, on a random Tuesday when most people are minding their own business and have too much going on in their lives to worry about anyone else, some man will take it upon himself to offer his unsolicited opinion on women’s attire. It could be anything from the weave in her hair to the color on her lip to the length of her dress, somewhere, some man is going to find an issue with one of those things and feel compelled to let the world know. And while the resounding response from women will be to ignore said man and not give a damn. One thing that shouldn’t be ignored are the male microagressions that prompt this sort of behavior and what we can do about them.
