Source: ERIC BARADAT / Getty A white woman at a Tennessee Popeyes was bodyslammed by an employee after getting into an argument with staff and allegedly using the n-word. The bodyslam was caught on video and a 29-year-old man was arrested. KABC reports that the incident took place inside a Popeyes in the town of Columbia last week. According to witnesses, the 55-year-old woman was angry over a charge on her bill and got into with staff when she let the slur go. While one of the employees reportedly warned her that her language could have consequences, Deriance Hughes apparently followed the woman out of the store and proceeded to body slam her to the concrete. The woman’s attorney says that the woman suffered broken ribs and a broken knee. Hughes was slapped with aggravated assault charges. This comes after a white man caught the universal beatdow n inside a Popeyes for vigorously yelling the n-word five times in the restaurant that was full of Black people not having it. Check out footage of the WWE-styled body slam outside the Tennessee Popeyes. We do warn that the image might be disturbing to some so proceed with caution. — Photo: Getty

Source: Alexandra Krull / EyeEm / Getty Multiple outlets are reporting at least nine Philadelphia police officers were injured, six of whom were shot during what officials called “an active firefight” in the Nicetown neighborhood located in North Philadelphia on Wednesday. A seventh officer was also injured in a car accident while responding to the scene and at least one suspect is in custody. The alleged gunman, 34-year-old Maurice Hill , surrendered to police after releasing two officers who were hostages around 11:20 CST on Wednesday night. Hill has a history of drug-related offenses dating back to 2003. “The shooter fired multiple rounds. Officers returned fire – many of whom had to escape through windows and doors to get [away] from a barrage of bullets,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross said. All of the officers are expected to survive, according to officials.
Hannah Brown agreed to become The Bachelorette in order to find a husband. (Has she done so? Visit our section of The Bachelorette spoilers to find out!) Instead, however, she finds herself right smack dab in the middle of a never-ending controversy over her sex life. Simply put, this is not what the reality star expected… and she still doesn’t comprehend how it has happened. “I sit with people who know me the most and think, ‘How have I become the sex girl?’” Brown asks in a new interview with People Magazine. She’s referring to the debate that has sprang up over her willingness to talk about her Christian faith — and also her willingness to kiss a bunch of guys. This debate has only intensified over the past several days after loser contestant Luke Parker tried to guilt trip Hannah for having the gall to visit the Fantasy Suite with a pair of suitors. And to have herself a bit of fun in there, if you know what we mean. “Like, I had only kissed five guys and I had sex with my two long relationship boyfriends,” Brown tells People , revealing her very personal number and adding: “College was the first time. It wasn’t like I was what anybody would call ‘promiscuous.’ And then now I’ve been slut-shamed for it.” Brown added that this slut-shaming started way when she was seen “making out” with the “same three or four guys” on The Bachelorette. But isn’t that sort of the entire point of this franchise? “It’s just not okay because this show is about trying to find a husband and a part of a relationship, a marriage, is physical intimacy,” she says. “And if I want to make out with a guy, I’m going to make out with them.” Yes! D’uh! As she very well should be, as a single woman interacting with single men in a flirty and fun fashion. All of this unfortunate nonsense hit a fever pitch on Monday night’s episode when Brown and Parker engaged in a heated argument about sex and religion; it concluded with Brown flipping off Parker after she gave him the boot. “I just want to make sure that you’re not going to be sexually intimate with the other relationships here,” Luke lectured Hannah on air, continuing as follows: “I totally have all the trust in the world in you, but at the same time, I just want to make sure we’re on the same page. “Like, if you told me you’re going to have sex or you had sex with one or multiple of these guys, I would be wanting to go home, 100 percent.” Welp, Hannah did have sex with one or multiple of those guys… so she sent Luke home! View Slideshow: Luke Parker to Hannah Brown: You’re a Dirty, Rotten Sinner! Hannah, to her enormous credit, did not just sit back and take Luke’s abuse. “My husband would never say what you said to me,” she fired back. Brown now says she never set out to be any kind of role model, but she sort of finds herself in that situation now. So she’ll take on the responsibility. “We’ve got to change the language of how women speak to women and how men speak to women and how we shame them for the decisions that we make,” she tells People. “Everybody’s relationship is different and we just need to support and encourage each other and make sure that we’re making the right decisions for ourselves and what we’re ready for in relationships.” Altogether now, okay? Source: Helen Sloan/HBO / HBO Emilia Clarke Studied Dictators For Game Of Thrones Finale Speech Well, this is… interesting. Tons of Game of Thrones fans were unhappy about how the hit HBO series ended last Sunday, but most can at least contend to there being some great MOMENTS throughout the episode. One of those moments being… Daenerys Targaryen’s tyrannical speech after conquering the now-six kingdoms. If you were watching, the Mother of Dragons probably sent chills through your body as she spoke in fictional languages to the Dothraki and Unsullied, insisting that her war was not over. Now, in an interview with Variety , actress Emilia Clarke reveals she studied Hitler and other dictators to get that terrifying speech just right. “In giving all these speeches in fake languages, I watched a lot of videos of — now it seems funny — dictators and powerful leaders speaking a different language to see if I could understand what they were saying without knowing the language,” she told the publication. “And you can! You absolutely can understand what Hitler’s f*cking saying, these single-focus orators speaking a foreign language,” she continued. Emilia was super nervous that she wouldn’t do a good job… “This speech meant so much to me. I was so worried that I was going to f*ck it up. I stayed up so late every night for like two months. I said it to my cooker, I said it to my fridge,” she went on. “I said it to all of Belfast out my window! Well, the window was closed because I didn’t want people to think I was actually barking mad.” Ultimately, she got it right on her first take. So, all that rehearsal definitely paid off. “Then the weirdest thing happened — I walked onset, didn’t need a rehearsal, and I got through the whole thing perfect on the first go. The rest of the day it was like Daenerys was just with me. That’s the only time I got through that speech without getting anything wrong, when it was on camera. If you had asked me to do it the next day, I’d already forgotten it,” she said. Relive one of her most memorable GoT moments here .
James Madison High School will turn away parents if they show up at the school wearing bonnets, pajamas, hair rollers or leggings. https://t.co/oUM9MxAd9f — Houston Chronicle (@HoustonChron) April 23, 2019 For discussion…. James Madison High School Principal Enforces Parent Dress Code There’s a HUGE debate happening on social media and it involves respectability politics, a Houston high school and a BLACK Principal that’s being labeled “elitist.” James Madison High School Principal Carlotta Outley Brown (above) is catching hell after she sent out a memo to parents banning them from wearing certain items of clothing to pick up their kids. “Parents, we do value you as a partner in your child’s education,” said Principal Brown in a letter to parents dated April 9. “However, please know we have to have standards, most of all we must have high standards. “No one can enter the building or be on the school premises wearing a satin cap or bonnet on their head for any reason,” she added. You also cannot wear a shower cap of any kind in the building.” Other banned items include bonnets, pajamas, hair rollers, leggings and sagging pants. KPRC-TV Houston reports that the dress code was established shortly after a parent attempted to enroll her child while wearing a headscarf and a “T-shirt dress.” You can see her in the below video. Parents (and social media) are crying foul and claiming that Principal Brown is being an elitist and classist. “I’m almost insulted,” Tomiko Miller, the mother of a Madison High School student told The Houston Chronicle. “I really think it was discriminatory, the language that was used. It was demeaning. And I’m African American — and if it’s misty outside and I have a hair bonnet on, I don’t see how that’s anyone’s business.” Zeph Capo, president of the Houston Federation of Teachers, is calling Principal Brown’s policy “classist,” “belittling” and “dismissive.” “I’m sorry — this principal may have plenty of money and time to go to the hairdresser weekly and have her stuff done,” he said. “Who are you to judge others who may not have the same opportunities that you do? Having a wrap on your head is not offensive. It should not be controversial.” Do YOU think this dress code policy for parents is fair or foul??? Is this classism or is she just encouraging decorum?
Source: brankokosteski / Getty No matter how many times White folks are told not to use the N-word , for some reason they continue to test the limits to see how far they can actually go. A video of White, male, American University student, Aise O’Neil, confidently using the racial slur has gone viral — and while some people are outraged, others are not surprised by the overt disrespect. When asked why he thought it was okay to use the offensive term, O’Neil replied: “I think it’s okay to say any word.” This is why I don’t feel welcomed at American University @AmericanU @SylviaBurwell pic.twitter.com/65nepSJ4Yp — Tas (@TasneemOsm) April 7, 2019 But according to the school, the conversation was completely taken out of context. On Sunday, AU released a statement explaining: “It is vital that we recognize the historical context of the language we use. A slur that has been used in the context of racism, bigotry, discrimination and violence does harm when it is used without understanding its context and painful impact on members of our community. We remain committed to building an inclusive community where every member feels valued and is treated with respect and dignity.” AU students, however, say that racist behavior at the school is nothing new. This is disgusting. During welcome week freshmen year, a white student (male) came up to me trying to make conversation and i guess being “hip” to him is calling me his “nigga” so im not surprised to see such utterly appalling behavior from students @AU @AmericanU @SylviaBurwell — Kèylia Carter (@KayKeylia_) April 7, 2019 The tea is that people act like American University is some liberal fantasyland when there’s plenty of dumb, racist fucks like this guy all over campus. No wonder students of color are looking elsewhere to study. AU needs to take racial equity seriously, not just as a nice idea. https://t.co/V83RREySz5 — R Y A N (@RyanMarsan) April 7, 2019 The University added that they’re currently working with the students involved and affected the discriminatory language, and moving forward, the school will be guided by the Student Code of Conduct. Okay.
