A seventh officer was also injured in a car accident while responding to the scene and at least one suspect is in custody. The alleged gunman, 34-year-old Maurice Hill , surrendered to police after releasing two officers who were hostages around 11:20 CST on Wednesday night. Hill has a history of drug-related offenses dating back to 2003. “The shooter fired multiple rounds. Officers returned fire – many of whom had to escape through windows and doors to get [away] from a barrage of bullets,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross said. All of the officers are expected to survive, according to officials.

According to WKYT , a woman in Pennsylvania suspected of urinating on potatoes at Walmart has turned herself in. Authorities say 20-year-old Grace Brown is facing multiple charges including open lewdness, criminal mischief and public drunkenness. Brown turned herself into officials on Tuesday when she learned folks were looking for her. Authorities posted surveillance images of the incident on Twitter, but they didn’t disclose when the incident took place or why she allegedly let her waste fly on the potatoes. Peeing on potatoes!! Source: NurPhoto / Getty An Oregon sheriff’s department took to their Facebook page to share the details of its “weirdest DUI arrest of the weekend,” which involved law enforcement officials arresting a woman after she poured alcohol into a Taco Bell drive-thru employees mouth. The incident took place at around 1 a.m. on Saturday at a Taco Bell branch in Beaverton, Oregon, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect is 23-year-old Elianna Aguilar-Aguilar, who had a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent, over the Oregon state limit of 0.08. The Sheriff’s Office wrote in its Facebook post that Aguilar poured the alcohol into the employee’s mouth “right in front of a sheriff’s office sergeant,” while she was “still in her car.” The Oregonian reported that the woman’s drink of choice was Hennessy Cognac, but Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brian van Kleef clarified that the Taco Bell employee didn’t actually consume the alcohol. “We talked to the employee after, and he said most of it was spilled on him and that he actually didn’t consume the Hennessy,” he told the publication. Two weeks ago, a widely circulated letter sent to parents from the Wyoming Valley West school district disturbingly laid out a plan of action for parents with unpaid lunch debts. Email Submit In an op-ed for The Philadelphia Inquirer, La Colombe Coffee Roasters CEO Todd Carmichael shared his frustration over what he referred to as “shaming” and burdensome in the eyes of parents and local taxpayers. Michael stated that he received a firm “no” from the school’s school board president Joseph Mazur. “On Monday, we talked to School Board President Joseph Mazur to determine the best way to transfer the funds in order to wipe the slate clean and restore dignity to the 1,000 families who received these threatening letters,” Carmichael wrote. Let me be clear: we offered over $22,000 with no strings attached. And he said ‘No,’” Carmichael continued. “Mr. Mazur, I am offering to pay this debt in full. By saying no, you are not just shaming families who elected you, but you are placing this burden on WVW taxpayers, and that is completely unfair,” he added. Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey called the school district’s actions “callous” on Twitter and urged administrators to cease the threats of foster care. Low-income students have again become collateral in the fight for who gets to eat and who is objectified for doing so.
