The notes provide a new window into the megalomaniacal madman’s mental state as he made the decision to exact revenge for an unsuccessful career filled with perceived racial slights. In the stream-of-consciousness-style letters Flanagan, 41, is alternately cheery, reflective, apologetic for any hurt he caused Avent and eager to reveal the “raw truth” that racist gunman Dylann Roof’s massacre of nine black churchgoers inspired his own decision to kill. “I do NOT wanna get old … HELL NO!!!” Flanagan wrote. “Please keep working out player … when the heads stop turning, it’s AWFUL!!!” To that end, Vester was apparently frustrated that men didn’t want to spend money on his backdoor “Boy P” anymore… “I totally CANNOT score right now …,” Flanagan wrote. “And this is from a man who used to be paid hundreds an HOUR to sleep with men…one was a hot YOUNG guy in SF…he once asked, ‘Can I f— you?’ He offered to give me $1,000…I playfully said, ‘No.’ Well, he gave me 2k.” Avent also says that Flanagan called while being pursued by police and didn’t sound the least bit remorseful over his on-air murders “I’m just trying to stay calm after hearing news like that. …You’re talking to me in a calm voice after you did that? You shot these people. How come you’re talking to me in a calm voice?’” Avent remembered saying. “Well, you know, I just feel, I didn’t like those people,” Flanagan replied, according to Avent.   Cousin James Flanagan Told BOSSIP He Believes Vester Flanagan Snapped The family of the gunman who murdered two journalists on live TV knew he was gay, but didn’t agree with it, a relative told BOSSIP. James Flanagan said the family tolerated his cousin Vester Flanagan Jr’s sexuality, but didn’t support it. “I don’t think too many families are cool with that, they accept that,” Flanagan told BOSSIP Friday from his home in Vallejo, Ca. “That ain’t the way it’s supposed to be, and when you go against the good man’s wishes…what is it? Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.” Vester Flanagan gunned down his two ex-colleagues, reporter Alison Parker, 24, and camera operator Adam Ward, 27, during a live shot Aug. 26 in Virginia, before killing himself. Flanagan, 82, said he last talked to Vester three or four months ago, and he never spoke of feeling targeted in the workplace because of his race and sexual orientation. Flanagan said his cousin seemed normal and didn’t appear to be unhinged. “I’ve never seen him come out like that,” the Korean War veteran told BOSSIP. “I never saw him blow up like that. You never really can tell what’s on a person’s mind.” The cousin said he believed Vester snapped. “I don’t think nothing like this is planned, it just hits you,” Flanagan said. Still, he conceded that he might have missed warning signs from his troubled relative. “As far as I know, he was normal like everybody else,” Flanagan said. “I couldn’t see what was on the inside. You see what’s on the outside.” “The only thing we can say, something went wrong,” Flanagan added. “Where? We can’t say. I guess nobody will ever know.”
