Barack Obama to Caitlyn Jenner: Well Done!

Ever since Caitlyn Jenner revealed herself on the cover of Vanity Fair this afternoon, we’ve expected an outpouring of support from her loved ones. And, to their credit, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian  and company have all weighed in with the utmost respect and admiration for the woman they are sort of just meeting for the first time. But an unexpected celebrity has now also made his voice heard on Jenner and the significant step she has taken: President Barack Obama. Having only recently joined Twitter, the President used that platform this evening to send a very positive message Caitlyn’s way, writing: “It takes courage to share your story. Your story matters in the fight for LGBT rights.” Having the Commander-in-Chief actually acknowledge a gender transformation in such a way in a major step for the LGBT community. Caitlyn Jenner, meanwhile, is already on Twitter herself. She has well over one million followers already and she opened her account with the following words: I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me. View Slideshow: Caitlyn Jenner Photos: So Long, Bruce!

Pamela Anderson Covers Playboy… With a Poem!

Pamela Anderson posing on the cover of Playboy is about as rare an occasion as Dina Lohan passing up an open microphone. Indeed, the former Baywatch star graces the front of her 13th issue this month, but there is something different about the January 2011 edition of the men’s magazine: it’s the first to include a poem by the actress. Along with an eight-page nude pictorial, Anderson pens the following words inside the issue: “Our best isn’t good enough – right now our eyes are far-reaching. Please let’s show the good in us… The brilliance… The wonderful… It’s abundant – it’s just not tapped as it should be.” Anderson also has a profound message for President Barack Obama: So many are with you… I can think of many positive parts of now.. That you spearheaded. “May all your bombs be bombshells.” Truer, less clear words have never been spoken by someone posing with her clothes off in Playboy for the 13th time.

Michael Jackson Asked Katie Couric Out on a Date, Using His Rabbi

On the Late Show With David Letterman last night, Katie Couric told the story of how Michael Jackson asked her out on a date in 2000 (two years after her husband died), using Rabbi Shmuley Boteach as a go-between. Praise be to the lord and all that is holy, Couric turned Jackson down, probably because he was a pedophile and also because he had “weird tape on his nose.” If the thought of Couric and Michael Jackson enjoying a romantic evening together isn’t nauseating enough for you, you need turn only to this clip of Larry King on Jimmy Kimmel’s show from two weeks ago, wherein King recounts his 1981 date with a young Couric in Washington, D.C., and actually utters the following words: “Once, I did Katie Couric.” Again with all appropriate praise to the TV gods, King misspoke: He did not “do” Couric, who is 24 years younger than King, because “I thought we were going to go up to the apartment, Katie and I, but she said she had a roommate.” Naturally, Kimmel asked why King didn’t go for the threesome. Sweet dreams tonight, kids!
