Source: Bread Winners Association / BWA Kevin Gates Banned From All Louisiana Prisons Over Viral Photo Kevin Gates has been staying low-key while working ever since he was released from prison over a year ago. The rapper has been busy touring and recording, even dropping a new album just last week. So when reports surfaced that the Department of Public Safety and Corrections launched an internal investigation into some of his activities, everyone was left puzzled. Soon after, the reason why was revealed to be over a viral photo he posted to his very own Instagram. The photo in question was taken back in July during a visit to see his father at Elayn Hunt in Louisiana. The picture even had the location tagged, but that still wasn’t the issue. The problem is that one picture out of the series of photos featured Gates sitting with inmates–including incarcerated rapper C-Murder –flashing a handful of crisp hundred dollar bills to cover his face. If you’re wondering why just imagine an inmate behind bars with thousands of dollars and what people would do to take that money. As of now, there’s no word on whether or not Gates actually gave any of that money away, but that doesn’t matter, according to the state corrections department. Not only was the rapper held accountable, however, so were the employees according to The Advocate . A DOC report dated July 24, 2019, found that Deputy Warden Perry Stagg and Major Jason Linzy, both of whom oversaw Gates’ visit, deviated from standard institutional policies, resulting in multiple rule violations. The report says Stagg met Gates when he arrived at the facility and Linzy supervised the visit when the pictures were taken.In addition to bypassing body scanners, Gates was allowed to drive his car through the front gates without being searched, investigators found. And while Stagg was escorting him, Gates avoided the visiting office and never had to sign the visitor’s log acknowledging he understood facility rules. To make matters even more serious, the internal investigation found no verifiable family member of his to be in custody of the facility. Essentially, Gates was allowed access straight from his house into the prison with no record, no check-in, or any procedure followed . Nor was his previous criminal history disclosed. Because of this incident, one officer was removed and demoted and another received a written discipline. As for Gates, he’s not allowed inside a Louisiana jail ever again . Even if he gets arrested, it’s more than likely that he would serve time elsewhere as a result. Was the scandalous death of Caylee Anthony, Casey Anthony’s two-year-old girl who disappeared back in 2008, actually an accident? Believe it or not, the judge who presided over Casey’s murder acquittal in 2011 made that explosive claim in an interview this week. Former Circuit Judge Belvin Perry Jr., who presided over the 2011 trial and as of 2014 works in a private practice, posed this theory: Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of first-degree murder, may have accidentally killed Caylee when she tried to quiet her with chloroform. It’s a theory, he said, and if jurors had come to that conclusion , they might have found her guilty of second-degree murder or manslaughter. Anthony, now 30, was charged with murder, and prosecutors pursued the death penalty against her. Jurors ultimately let her walk free. In a phone interview Wednesday, Perry did not find fault with the verdict, but pointed out that there was evidence to support his point. He said Anthony had gone online to research how to use chloroform as a sedative, while a scientist found chloroform in the trunk of her car. That’s where prosecutors said Anthony – whose story changed during the course of the investigation – likely put Caylee’s body temporarily. Authorities were unable to determine a cause of death. The child’s remains were found five months after she was reported missing. Prosecutors did say during the trial that Anthony used chloroform and then suffocated the child by putting duct tape over her mouth. As for why he feels this could’ve been an accidental death, even so? In the past, Perry said, surgeons used chloroform as an anesthetic. “There was a possibility that she may have utilized that to keep the baby quiet … and just used too much of it, and the baby died,” he said. “As I’ve expressed, that’s just one of the many theories as to how this beautiful young lady [Caylee] tragically met her death,” he said. “The only person that really knows what happened was Casey … for whatever reason, people are still fascinated with Casey Anthony.” Defense attorney Jose Baez told jurors that the toddler accidentally drowned in the family pool and that someone else hid the body. Whether the jury believed that or not, they obviously felt there was enough reasonable doubt to let the media-scourged “Tot Mom” go. Since her trial, Anthony has lived in seclusion, though as Perry says, her case and life after acquittal remain the subject of fascination. Last year, rumors spread that Jose Baez demanded sexual favors from her in exchange for her defense, a claim he adamantly denied. With iconic roles in Scrubs and Clueless, we’re used to Donald Faison bringing us so much laughter. But today, Donald is bringing the tears. Seriously, this will very likely break your heart. Because while Donald is happily married to CaCee Cobb these days, she wasn’t his first wife. In 2001, he married a woman named Lisa Askey, who was a nursing student when they met. They were married for four years, and in that time, they had three children — twins Dade and Kaya, and a son named Kobe. Unfortunately, Lisa passed away this week. We don’t yet know what happened, but we do know that Donald and his children are mourning her death … and that they’re moving us to tears. Donald posted this photo, originally posted by his son Dade (we’re assuming these are the hands of Dade and his mother), and his caption was absolutely heartbreaking. “My son Dade is very brave,” he wrote. “Today he and his brother Kobe and sister Kaya lost their mother. Lisa Askey Faison.” “She and I never really saw eye to eye,” he admitted, “but one thing we did share was our love for our children. RIP Lisa. You raised three beautiful children into fine adults and I am forever grateful for that.” “May god bless your soul with light and love.” Donald also shared his son’s original tribute, which read “I just wanted to say thank you so much mom! Raven Gates’ ex-boyfriend Hunter Hayes has a bone to pick with the popular show, and it has nothing to do with The Bachelor spoilers . Well, unless you’re talking about his spoiled reputation as a man. Thanks to Raven’s claim that she’s never told a man she loves him, or had an orgasm (at all), Henry has become a subject of fascination. And hilariously, he’s calling out the show in an interview with Us . During Gates and Nick Viall’s fantasy-suite date on Monday’s episode, she told the Bachelor that she’s never said “I love you” to a man. Nor has she experienced, even once, what an orgasm feels like. Yes, this happened on national TV, making fans immediately wonder what the Hoxie, Arkansas, native’s ex-boyfriend Henry was doing. Or not doing, to be more accurate. They dated for two years! He was also discussed on an earlier episode in which Gates alleged that while they were dating, she caught him banging another woman. At that point, Raven said, she attacked her beau with a high-heeled shoe, an image that brings a smile to our face (cheating aside). Hunter’s definitely not among those laughing about it, however. “Comments made by Raven about our relationship are skewed and untrue,” Henry tells the website. “However, I wish her all the best.” “Definitely not true about the whole orgasm thing,” he adds. From the moment she stepped out of the limo at the iconic mansion, she hasn’t been afraid to speak her mind. Even when it comes to calling out Nick Viall over Corinne. The 25-year-old boutique owner from Hoxie, Arkansas, has definitely caught Nick’s eye, and her bluntness is something Viall admires. [Laughs.] I’m excited, though!” “I think I’m a little bit crazy, but it’s going to be awesome!” What made her want to embark on this crazy journey? “I was sad and broken-hearted and all alone in my bedroom, and I thought, I’m going to put myself out there. So I applied,” she said. “I didn’t know the Bachelor was going to be Nick, but I was excited when I found out it was going to be him,” Raven says of the star. Gates says she wanted to go into this with an open mind: “What’s funny is that my best friend is obsessed with him.” “When I found out it was Nick, I was like, ‘Please don’t tell me anything about him, ’cause I want it to be super organic when I meet him.'” “I mean, as organic as it can be! Kevin Gates’ Trip To Mecca Has A Profound Effect On The Rapper Anybody who has followed Kevin Gates knows he’s a bit of a character. Still, one of the things he appears to take most seriously is his religion. As a man of Muslim faith and the means to make the trip, Gates made the Hajj to Mecca and it’s a trip he captured on video. He touched and kissed The Black Stone, which is located at the center of the Grand Mosque. His ensuing reaction and how he talks about the way he was embraced on the trip is definitely a cool thing to witness. Via XXL Anyone who follows Kevin Gates has seen a change in the Bread Winners Association boss in the last year. For one, he is now a married man having wed his longtime girlfriend last October. He has also become a devout Muslim. The Baton Rouge MC recently took the pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia to visit the revered Kaaba, and from the looks of things it was a very spiritual experience for the platinum rapper. According to Muslim tradition, The Black Stone, located in the center of the Grand Mosque on the eastern cornerstone of the Kaaba, is a monument that dates back to the era of Adam and Eve. Muslims from all over the world make the trip to Mecca during the Hajj and many visit the Black Stone to touch and kiss the darkened rock as part of the Tawaf ritual. Gates posted video to Instagram of himself and his wife approaching the Stone. He explains how one of the military men guarding the Stone invited him and her to kiss it, which he is humbled by. In the clip, Gates can be seen kissing the Stone at the designated location on the rock. As he makes contact with the Stone his shoulders start to quiver as if he has been moved to tears. A woman in the background then begins to shout in what sounds like Arabic. “This Man I’ve never met – embraced me as if we had known each other our entire lives – one of the greatest Muslims I’ve met in my life – #AllahuAkbar,” he captioned the video. “To be be healed is to be be healed from all things – I’ll never forget this day – in this life and the here after – May Peace Be Upon you All,” he added. Gates seems to be in a good space religiously, financially and music wise. It was recently revealed that his debut album Islah has been certified platinum. Spearheaded by the double platinum single “2 Phones,” it is the first debut album released in 2016 to reach the milestone. And he did it without any features. Word to J. Cole.
