Black Death, Red Band: Delightful New Trailer Counters Christmas with Plague

This holiday season has gone on long enough! Bring on the bubonic plague, necromancers, ritual sacrifices, eviscerations and all the other rollicking, desaturated 14th-century good times promised by the forthcoming B-flick Black Death . I know! How did this not get fast-tracked for Christmas weekend?

Nielsen: DVR Users ‘Watch’ Commercials More Than You’d Think, But Not Really

Harry Cranes of the world, prepare to have your mind blown. While conventional wisdom states that no one with a DVR would ever sit through commercials, Neilsen reports that DVR users aged 18-49 are watching more commercials than ever before. Further, commercial viewing on “younger-skewing” shows like Gossip Girl and Glee rises some 50 percent when the broadcast is watched within three days of recording. The catch? The word “watch” has a very wide definition.

Watch the New Mad Men Promo Reveal Don’s Vacation Plans

Mad Men spoiler-phobes and Matthew Weiner , avert your eyes. AMC — the network which airs Mad Men , for what it’s worth — has released a 2-minute sneak peak at Sunday’s all-new episode (“The Good News”) that is sure to cause the show’s creator much consternation. Cast and Crew of Mad Men Singing ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ Just As Awesome As You’d Hope

Here’s the funniest thing you’ll see all day: the cast and crew of Mad Men doing a spoof of the Ann-Margret classic, “Bye Bye Birdie.” Apparently — or at least according to the info section on its YouTube page — the video was done for creator Matthew Weiner, likely at the end of season three. Things to take note of, beyond that shot of John Slattery in a ginger wig: the joy on the normally joyless face of January Jones; Jon Hamm cutting a rug; Rich Sommers (Harry Crane) possibly naked; and Elisabeth Moss fiddling with her Blackberry. Also: Robert Morse, looking as sprightly as ever. Watch after the jump and prepare to spend the rest the day with “Birdie” stuck in your head.

Harry Crane’s Hairy Crane

I would poke fun at Rich Sommer (Harry Crane from Mad Men ), but at first glance, I thought a naked photo of myself had gotten out there. You know what they say about people in glass houses. The Best Links: Via Rob Huebel View

‘Bum Bot’ Guy For Mayor

I am so taken with this man who wants to be mayor of my hometown. Robots roving the streets and spying on the local crack-doers is really the only reason I could think of to move back to Atlanta. It's an attack robot, too! It yells and then sprays water on homeless people
