Katy Perry has booked her first U.S. performances since breaking up with Russell Brand late last year. It looks like she’s got a busy week ahead of her, too. The 27-year-old hits the stage at a private pre-Super Bowl party in Indianapolis Saturday, then will do double duty on Grammy weekend in Los Angeles. On February 10, she’ll be among the headliners honoring Paul McCartney at the MusiCares benefit. Then it’s on to the 2012 Grammy Awards February 12! Perry is a nominee for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Solo Performance, and has enjoyed a record-setting year, making the Grammys a fitting return spot. Katy has performed abroad as a single woman, just not in the U.S. In her first show since Russell Brand filed for divorce , Perry planted a kiss on a lucky fan’s cheek. A pic of Perry smooching the surprised, shirtless male onstage caused quite a stir on the Internet. Katy set the record straight on Twitter afterward, though: “I have *kissed* 1 boy, picked randomly out of the audience, on the cheek as part of my show for all 125 tour dates,” she tweeted. “Simmer down now.” LOL. By Christina Garibaldi Britney Spears Britney Spears is currently in the midst of her Femme Fatale Tour . And now that the pop princess has shaken off all those pre-tour nerves, she’s been giving fans a dance-heavy spectacle that some have called her “flashiest” yet. When MTV News recently caught up with Spears, she opened up about life on the road. “Good, really good,” Spears said of how things are going on her seventh concert tour. “It’s like every other day we have another show, so we are really busy. It’s a lot of fun. I like being busy.” Spears — who is nominated for Best Pop Video and Best Choreography at the 2011 Video Music Awards — gave credit to her fans for making each show so memorable. “The shows have been equally amazing,” Spears said. “The crowds have been so good each night and that gives you the adrenaline you need to get through the show. It just pumps you up. Every night is a blast.” And before Brit hits the stage each night, she and her dancers always get together for a pre-show ritual. “We always say a prayer before the show; sometimes a really long prayer, sometimes a short prayer. We just do it; we grab each other’s hands and go do it.” On Monday, the Femme Fatale Tour added another opening act: “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D confirmed he’ll be hitting the road to open for Spears on six of her August dates. “Yes, that’s interesting!” Spears gushed about Pauly D joining opening acts Nicki Minaj , Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Nervo. Demi Lovato and We the Kings throw a party in ‘We’ll Be a Dream’ music video. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato in We the Kings’ “We’ll Be a Dream” music video Photo: S-Curve Records To follow up her recent duet with boyfriend Joe Jonas, “Make a Wave,” for the eco-conscious film “Oceans,” Demi Lovato is edging it up a bit for her pop-rock song with We the Kings called “We’ll Be a Dream.” In the video for the mid-tempo ballad, which premiered on MTV Thursday (April 22), Lovato and the band play a gig for a group of teenagers at a party in the woods. The track, from We the Kings’ album Smile Kid, is about young love and two people sharing their dreams of making it big someday, depicted in the video as a dreamy escape into a world of pillow, water balloon and food fights. The video was shot in Elysian Park in Los Angeles earlier this year. Lovato first appears in the clip walking through the forest with feathers flying as the teens laugh their way through a pillow fight. She then hits the stage for a performance of the song, while lustful glances are exchanged between two teens in the audience in the midst of the craziness going on around them. The partygoers settle down and simply start enjoying the song. Lovato appears to settle into her role as rocker , while she and the band’s lead singer, Travis Clark, smile and have a good time onstage. On the We the Kings Twitter , the band wrote, “@travisrclark: FINALLY!!!! @WeTheKings – We’ll Be A Dream ft. @ddlovato is premiering on MTV on Thursday!!” Lovato mirrored that excitement on her page, re- tweeting the message and reminding fans to check out the clip.
