In the wake of Carrie Fisher passing away last week due to complications from a heart attack, numerous stars who were close to the beloved actress has weighed in with their thoughts and prayers. There was Carrie's half-sister, Joely Fisher, who wrote THIS . And there was Carrie's Star Wars colleague and close friend, Mark Hamill, who wrote THIS . And now we have a few kind and generous words from Ellen DeGeneres. The comedian welcomed Fisher as a guest on her talk show numerous times over the years, sharing a tight bond with the 60-year old prior to Fisher's death. Having aired her first new episode since this tragic event on Wednesday, DeGeneres took a few moments today to recognize the impact Carrie had on her life. “I wanna say something about my friend, Carrie Fisher,” DeGeneres says to the camera in the following video. “I knew her for a long time. She has been on the show many times, and the last time was just a month ago. And I loved when she was here. She made me laugh so hard. Coming into 2017, the future wasn’t looking very bright for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. New rumors about Kim and Kanye divorcing seem to have popped up at the rate of about one a week since the couple walked down the aisle back in 2014, but this time, it seems there’s real reason to believe their marriage hit hit a serious rough patch. Kanye was hospitalized following an emotional breakdown back in November, and far from running into his arms after he was released, Kim appeared to keep her distance. The two of them were only spotted separately in public, and there were even rumors of Kim and Kanye living in different homes . Weeks later, no one is denying that they were sleeping under different roofs for a time, but family insiders have offered the explanation that the Wests were just following doctor’s orders for the safety of their kids. Believable, but still not a great sign for the future of their marriage. Last week, however, a gradual Kimye reconciliation seemed to begin, as evidenced by the holiday photo that Kanye posted on Instagram. Was it a transparent attempt to send the message that the and Kim had patched things up? Of course! But according to sources close to the couple, they are actually making an attempt to rescue their relationship. Of course, it’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not those efforts are paying off. “Kanye and Kim are still in that very polite stage after a blowup,” a source tells People magazine. “They’re getting along better, but it’s still a difficult time. He’s committed to getting healthy.” As for what may have triggered the meltdown that nearly led to divorce, insiders say Kanye is struggling to cope with the 2007 death of his mother, Donda West. “Kanye still doesn’t have closure about his mother, and I don’t know that he ever will,” one source tells the magazine. “[Her death] was unexpected, and he had no time to prepare for it. “When the anniversary comes along, it’s like the wound is reopened. Some years, he does okay in managing it. Other years, not as much. As you may recall, Depp and Heard reached a deal back in August. Both parties agreed to the terms, and it seemed that one of the ugliest celebrity divorces in recent memory had finally come to an end. Then, Amber announced plans to donate her settlement to charity . It sounds like an innocuous enough plan, but her decision set off a new round of legal wrangling that shows no signs of letting up. Many saw Heard’s public declaration of philanthropic intentions as a bald-faced PR stunt. Depp’s team attempted to maneuver around it by offering to donate the cash directly to charity. Heard’s people saw this is as an attempt to make Depp look like the good guy and score a nice tax write-off in the process. For reasons that remain unclear, Heard went on to demand twice as much money as a result of Depp’s attempt to give to the charities directly, thus bringing her total settlement to $14 million. It’s tough to say who’s right and who’s wrong, but either way, the real victim here … is the children. No, but seriously, almost five months after the deal was reached the charities have only received one payment , because the issue has been tied up in court for the majority of that time. Eva Amurri has opened up about the possibility of her suffering from depression in the aftermath of a freak accident which resulted in her son having a cracked skull . The freak accident occurred while Eva and her husband were asleep and their night nurse was looking after Major James. “A couple of days after Thanksgiving, our Night Nurse fell asleep while holding Major and dropped him, and he cracked his head on the hardwood floor,” Amurri Martino, 31, wrote. “[Husband Kyle Martino] and I were sleeping at the time and were awoken by the sound of his head hitting the floor, and then hysterical piercing screams. Added Amurri Martino, “He suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on his brain, and was transported by ambulance to Yale Medical Center where I spent two harrowing days with him to receive emergency care and further testing. To say these were the most traumatic and anxious two days of my life is an understatement.” This is genuinely one of the most shocking, heartbreaking stories we’ve ever reported on. When you leave your child in the care of someone else, you don’t expect anything of this nature to happen. Thankfully, it seems like Major James is making a good recovery. “But here’s the good part: by the grace of all of his many angels, and every God one cares to pray to, MAJOR IS FINE. Completely fine,” she wrote. “He has been healing well, hitting milestones, cooing, smiling, and generally showing us that he is and will be ok as he grows and develops.” “I chose not to share [for] fear of judgement. The internet can be a peculiar place, where some people forget about humanity and go for the jugular. I know that this news might reach many, and of those many there will always be the people who say that this accident was my fault,” she wrote. “That if it had been me in there holding him instead of a Night Nurse, that this never would have happened. That I deserve this for allowing my child to be in the care of somebody other than me.” “Well, let me tell you– the guilt I bore in the days and weeks after this accident was more intense and more damaging than anything I would wish upon my worst enemy. I had all those same thoughts and more.” She continued, “I wept in the hospital, telling anyone who would listen that it should have been me. That I was to blame. The truth is, even this woman who came so highly recommended, with a perfectly clean track record, could make a very human mistake. It ‘could happen to anyone,’ and as they told me repeatedly in the hospital, it DOES happen to anyone. If you’re familiar with Taylor Lianne Chandler, it’s probably as a result of her short-lived relationship with superhuman Olympian Michael Phelps. Accounts differ, but Chandler claimed to have been with Phelps the night that he was arrested for DUI , and she went on to essentially make a career out their brief romance. Now, however, it seems the self-proclaimed “model and TV personality” has moved on with a new love, as she recently took to Twitter to confirm that she’s engaged to Air Force Major Timothy Keegan. Keegan reportedly popped the question on New Year’s Eve at Gaylord National Harbor after just three months of dating. Sources say the couple has been “going strong since October,” which is a bit like saying your diet has been going well since lunch. Keegan has two kids from a previous marriage, and it seems Chandler has already met them and earned their approval. Chandler and Keegan have reportedly planned a destination wedding for this summer. Bizarrely, Chandler recorded a Periscope video the day of the proposal in which she stated that she was “in a really bad mood” because she found out that the “guy I’d been seeing, [with whom] things ended recently” would be attending the same New Year’s party as her. So either she was very recently dating someone else and got engaged at a party attended by her ex, or Keegan is the guy she was referring to, and they reconciled in epic fashion. Either way, that’s not even the weirdest part of this engagement. For Nick Viall, it looks like the fourth time really was the charm. You don’t need The Bachelor spoilers to tell you that either: He’s saying it! The Bachelor star says he did indeed find love on the show this season, which premieres tonight after a Prelude-to-Nick special Sunday. Nick, of course, has endured rejection on The Bachelorette twice (Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe) and Bachelor in Paradise (Amanda Stanton). On the flip side, he’s gotten laid a lot … but that’s a subject for another time. And the slideshow appearing at the bottom of this article. Anyway, this time it worked out. “I definitely found love,” the star of The Bachelor tells Us , though “I don’t think there was an easy decision I made throughout the entire process.” The native Waukesha, Wisconsin (now based in Los Angeles, via Chicago), admits there were “certainly some nerves and fears” involved.” “But I’m not someone who tends to look back. And I’ve always been one to put myself out there and be vulnerable,” he says. Was he confident that he’d find love this year? “I think a lot of people go into The Bachelor assuming it’s going to work out, but I went in knowing there are no guarantees,” he says. Did his famous exes offer any advice? “Andi did reach out – a simple text – to wish me luck … It was a very gracious text, but certainly no advice was given and none was asked.” “I haven’t had any contact with Kaitlyn.” Nick says he has “a fair share of friends in Bachelor Nation,” and like him, “they’ve all talked about how difficult this process can be.” Reflecting on the first night – which we’ll see this evening – and “throughout the season, I thought, Yep, they were right. I want someone to be comfortable enough with me to do that.” “I want to be with a woman who feels empowered,” he says, and in that sense, among others, he’s a different kind of Bachelor . “Me being the Bachelor was an unconventional choice, and I think relative to my peers in the past, I’m unconventional,” says Nick. “I follow my heart and do what I think is best, regardless of the majority opinion,” he adds, and certainly that’s a tough point to dispute. Viall has become a controversial figure of sorts over the past few years on the franchise, in part for reasons out of his control. Going up against Josh Murray and Shawn Booth, he was not the consensus fan pick for either star of The Bachelorette .
