With 2016 in the can, the world is still trying to come to terms with the huge amount of celebrities that did not make it out of the year alive. George Michael passed away on December, 25, 2006, with his boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz finding his body. There has been much speculation about what caused the death of the singing sensation, but there has been rumblings that it was a cardiac arrest. With the autopsy results being inconclusive, we’re no closer to finding out what caused the fatal cardiac arrest. George Michael fans around the world were shocked to find several tweets on Fadi Fawaz’s Twitter account that seemed to hint towards George attempting to end his own life. “We loved each other very much and we were together almost 24 hours a day..” the tweets claimed. “And finally he managed… he tried numbers of time to kill himself many times… the only thing George wanted is to DIE … not sure who that nasty close friend of George but I was in relationship with george micheal (sic) till I found him dead in bed.” As you can probably expect, Fadi has opened up about the horrible tweets and revealed that he was not the one who sent them. “I am shocked with what’s going on with the Twitter thing. My Twitter account has been hacked and closed,” he said in the statement. “It’s a bit scary, to be honest. I did not send those tweets. I woke up at 11.30 a.m. to the news. I am not going to worry about these things.” It’s horrible just how low some people will go in order to mess with someone who is going through a heartbreaking time. It’s hard enough losing the person you love, but someone tweeting as you and painting the deceased in a bad light is just a bit too far. Lauren Conrad is ringing in the new year with a very exciting announcement: She’s pregnant with her first child! The former reality star, who has turned her stint on The Hills into a solid career as an author, fashion designer and all-around lifestyle guru, woke up Sunday morning and relayed the news to her Instagram follows. She is expecting a baby with husband William Tell. And in case you don’t believe Conrad for some reason, she included a picture of a sonogram as evidence. “Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2017 is going to be the best year yet…” she wrote as a caption to the image. Check it out here: Conrad and Tell got married in 2014. She donned a Badgley Mischka couture gown for the special occasion, which took place in California and which included former co-star Lo Bosworth as a bridesmaid. The two started dating in 2013 and were together for about a year prior to exchanging vows. In a 2015 blog post, the ex-Hills and Laguna Beach actress was asked how many kids she wants to have with her husband. “Maybe two,” she wrote. “That way we aren’t outnumbered.” At only 30 years old, Conrad has plenty of time to reach this goal, of course. “My favorite thing about being married is knowing that I have a partner in life that I get to do so many wonderful things with,” Lauren once told her followers, adding: “Dreaming of the things we will do 20 years from now is so fun.” We can’t say for certain whether or not Conrad and Tell will be strong parents. Let’s go back to a happier time, a simpler time. Back to a time when we didn’t know the horrors that would be attacking us on a near constant basis as they are now. Let’s go back to 2012, when Taylor Swift was dating Conor Kennedy , son of Robert Kennedy Jr. and, at the time, high school student. Wasn’t that such a beautiful time? Just think, how innocent we were. We’re bringing all this up, by the way, because little Conor Kennedy got himself arrested last night after getting into a bar fight in Aspen, Colorado. He was charged with disorderly conduct after police officers pulled him off a guy outside a bar. The officers reported that the men were “rolling around on the ground,” and that Conor punched his opponent repeatedly in the head, then struggled against the cop that tried to pull him away. What would Taylor think?! As it turns out, she might not be all that scandalized, because according to further reports, Conor got into the fight in the first place because he was defending his friend. What happened, according to the Kennedy family, is that Conor was out with a friend at the bar when a group of guys started calling his friend some homophobic slur. Conor asked the guys to apologize, and one of them did, but about an hour later, the rowdy, ignorant bunch was leaving and they decided to do some more name-calling. Good Guy Conor told them to stop, but one of the trolls pulled out a classic “Whatchu gonna do about it?” and decided to throw a punch. That’s when the fight broke out. The arresting officer says that Conor did claim that the guy “called my friend the F-word,” and unfortunately we all know what F-word he’s talking about. The officer also says that Conor apologized to him for struggling when he was trying to restrain him. Conor’s father, Robert Kennedy Jr., has made a statement, explaining that “Conor has always reacted against bullying. I’m happy he stood up for his friend.” “I’m very sorry it turned into a police incident,” he added. Apparently Conor is “not liking the attention.” Conor’s lawyer also made a statement — as he claims, “Multiple witnesses to the incident have reported that two men assaulted Conor Kennedy after he rebuked them for directing a homophobic slur and threats to his close friend.” So that’s a little bit heroic, huh? A little like when he was arrested in 2013 for protesting the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline : Sure, violence is so rarely the answer and all that, but if he was going to get arrested for a bar fight, at least it was for a noble reason. Earlier today, we reported that Rob Kardashian was hospitalized after being rushed to the hospital late last night. Details were initially scarce, with insiders chalking the situation up to “medical distress.” Now we’re getting a clearer picture of what exactly left Rob laid up. Last year, Rob was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes , and when news of his hospitalization went public, many assumed that his condition had flared up. According to insiders, that’s exactly what happened, but the family’s concerns have also been compounded by fears about Rob’s mental health. According to TMZ, Rob was able to check in under his own power, and medical staff quickly gained the impression that he had binge eating and neglecting his medication in recent weeks. Sources close to the family say Rob has been behaving in a self-destructive fashion due to stress resulting from his troubled relationship with Blac Chyna. Rob’s excess eating reportedly caused a dangerous spike in his blood sugar. Insiders say he’s still hospitalized as doctors work to stabilize his condition, but he could be released as early as today. Unfortunately, it seems his relationship with Chyna won’t be rebounding quite as quickly. Despite their resolve to stay together for their 6-week-old daughter, and the fact that they just signed on for a second season of Rob & Chyna , sources close to the couple say it looks as though they’re done for good. Rob and Chyna are living in separate homes, and Rob has reportedly given up any hope of a reconciliation. Unfortunately, he didn’t start the relationship in the most emotionally stable position, which is why many cuationed Rob and Blac from moving so fast. Now, Rob is coping with the pressures of first-time fatherhood at the same time as he’s getting over a breakup and struggling with the same physical and mental health issues that have plagued him for years. How great is Ariana Grande? The greatest, right? Sure, she’s had her problems — who could forget the great donut-licking scandal , or her general diva shenanigans? But when push comes to shove, when it really matters, Ariana can come through with some real loveliness. And that’s what she’s doing now. Yesterday, we talked about this sad story Ariana told about how she was objectified by some fan of her boyfriend, Mac Miller. She said that Mac’s fan, some “young boy,” saw them while they were out and he followed them to their car. “I thought all of this was cute and exciting,” she recalled, “until he said ‘Ariana is sexy as hell man, I see you, I see you hitting that!!!!'” Poor Ariana admitted that her ordeal might not be “a big deal” to some, but that she felt “sick and objectified.” “I’ve felt really quiet and hurt since that moment,” she said. “Things like that happen all the time and are the kind of moments that contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy.” Queen Ariana declared that she’s not “a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure,” and that she’s sad that so many people have such an easy time objectifying women. “I felt like speaking out about this one experience tonight because I know very well that most women know the sensation of being spoken about in an uncomfortable way publicly by a man,” she said. “We need to talk about these moments openly because they are harmful and they live on inside us as shame.” “We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don’t, it will just continue.” “We are not objects or prizes,” she concluded. “We are QUEENS.” Like we said, she’s the greatest. Unfortunately, not everyone can be as wise as Ariana on this subject. When she posted her story, she got flooded with comments about how she dresses provocatively, she can get kind of racy, so what happened is her fault. What a bunch of nonsense, right? She hopped back on Twitter to explain that “Women expressing sexuality is often mistaken for ‘hi come disrespect me!!!!’ .. & that’s just not the case.” “Women (and men) can express themselves however they’d like !!! even loving sex!! this is not an invitation to be disrespected.” When asked how Mac Miller reacted to the guy, she said “Although this isn’t about his reaction, he drove the f-ck away !! he is a sweet bear & I am falling asleep feeling safe & loved.” But then she really took us to church. “Seeing a lot of ‘but look how you portray yourself in videos and in your music! you’re so sexual!'” she wrote. “Please hold .. next tweet… I repeat …” “Expressing sexuality in art is not an invitation for disrespect !!! just like wearing a short skirt is not asking for assault.” “Women’s choice. ♡ our bodies, our clothing, our music, our personalities….. sexy, flirty, fun. it is not. an open. invitation.” “You are literally saying that if we look a certain way, we are yours to take. Of course, some folks value on-court leadership ability, while others seek to reward players who have demonstrated admirable character. But Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is hoping fans will consider an oft-overlooked asset when checking his name on their ballots: Desire to bang Rihanna. Yes, Embiid claims his DBR is through the roof, and for that reason, fans should vote for him to represent the Eastern Conference in New Orleans. Allow us to explain: It seems that when Embiid was drafter by the Sixers, he was under the impression that famous women would begin beating down his door. In the comments section for her latest post on the blogging site Medium, a writer named Judy Anne was heavily criticized for her overly-simplistic explanation for why so many beloved celebrities prematurely passed away in 2016. Like so many of us, Judy Anne is desperate to make somehow make sense of how the entertainment world could be shaken by so many tragedies in a single 12-month span. Unlike the rest of us, she claims to have the answer. Judy believes that a rise in the use of illicit substances is to blame for the endless string of famous deaths that marred the past year. Thankfully, dozens of Medium users were quick to point out the foolishness of her argument. (The fact that she felt the need to refer to George Michael as “an enthusiastic cannabis user” – as though that habit played any role in his death – certainly didn’t help her case.) Were some beloved entertainers felled by substance abuse over the past year? Sadly, yes. The most obvious example is the death of Prince , who overdosed on the fentanyl, which he had been using to treat chronic pain. But the celebrities who left us in 2016 did so in myriad ways, ranging from freak accidents to unthinkable acts of violence to old age. By now, you’ve likely heard the jokes about the awfulness of 2016, joined in the mourning when an entertainer whose work touched your life passed before their time, and wondered aloud why so many celebrities died in such a short period of time. Of course, despite what Judy Anne would have you believe, there’s no indication that a new addiction epidemic is sweeping Hollywood. No, the real reasons that stars seem to be falling in record numbers are more complex and far less scandalous: For starters, the number of entertainers, athletes, politicians, and other public figures who could be described as famous exploded in the years after World War II. As television entered households, entertainment options expanded, and faces were matched with the names of America’s favorite stars. With each ensuing decade, the number of celebrities increased, sometimes exponentially. The Internet opened the doors for a new breed of media personality by eliminating the need to follow the traditional paths to fame. In short, there are more celebrities now than ever before, and because the pop cultural landscape we know today began to take shape in the mid-20th Century, many of those stars are getting on in years. So part of the reason it seems like so many famous people are dying is because we’re feeling the after-effects of the celebrity boom that began in the late ’40s and early ’50s. Sadly, that means the trend of beloved showbiz icons passing on in astonishing numbers is likely to continue in the years to come. Of course, the fact remains that some of the stars who left us this year were not baby boomer legends, but young phenoms who had yet to show us what heights they could achieve. Anton Yelchin, Christina Grimmie, Joey Feek, Phife Dawg, and Dave Mirra ranged in age from 22 to 45, and they all left this world well before their time in 2016. There deaths remind us that there’s no way to fully make sense of the tragedies that hit Hollywood this year. We can point to the increase in the number of celebrities, the proliferation of media that brings our attention to deaths we may not have known about, and plain old horrendous luck, but as anyone who’s ever mourned a loved one knows, attempts to make sense of the loss of a life that touched your own are usually in vain. Kylie Jenner’s “little surprise gift for the world” on Christmas Day was something so special, it was nothing short of miraculous, indeed. Especially if your name happens to be Tyga. The 19-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star teamed up with photographer Sasha Samsonova on the provocative short video. Their collaboration is pretty spectacular, we must say. Not just because it shows her in various states of undress while in the shower, although no one with a pulse is going to complain about that. It’s the music and artistry of the production, combined with the young celebrity’s real-life love for boyfriend Tyga, that makes it so steamy. In more ways than one. Just wait. Just. You. Wait. Set to music by Niia, it leaves very little to the imagination, but in a way that’s more romantic, emotional and sensual than you’d expect. Samsonova, the video’s director, told W Magazine that “the whole deal with this video is that it’s a very personal experience.” “It’s like you’re watching this person from a point of view that has never been seen before,” she adds. “It’s super raw footage.” In other words, what you see is what you get. Kylie’s changing appearance has resulted in much speculation over the years, but no editing or doctoring of footage can be seen here. “As soon as my shoots with Kylie come out, so many people write on my page and rant about how it’s all Photoshop, Photoshop, Photoshop.” “But the thing about this video is that there’s no post-production work. It’s only cut together. It’s very raw, and we tried to keep it that way.” “No skin retouching, nothing.” No retouching … just touching. Of each other’s bodies. Wow. Are she and Tyga dressed? Yes … for the most part. There are some obligatory shots of Kylie Jenner topless with underboob on display. Primarily, though, they wear t-shirts, albeit very, very wet ones that do a nice job of soaking up the steam and moisture from the shower. By the end, they’re dripping, saturated and topless as they hold on to each other, caressing one another passionately making out. Yes, it’s performance art, but it’s safe to say that the chemistry from the real-life couple plays a vital role in this three-minute masterpiece. You can’t fake that kind of heat. The video, filmed in November in Los Angeles, ironically is less graphic than social media pics in which her boobs are in Tyga’s face . Sometimes, less really can be more. Critics say Kylie gets naked too much for a teenager, and maybe she does, but she’s been in a committed relationship for years. As controversial as Kyga has been since the duo first went public, their passion for each other has endured, even strengthened. It may officially be winter across most of the United States as this video goes viral, but just try telling that to Kylie Jenner or Tyga. Suffice it to say, a decidedly warm, humid front has settled in over greater Calabasas, with no signs of clearing out anytime soon. Good thing, too. We all need this.
