Looks like the folks over at The Game aren’t wasting any time trying to fill the openings left by Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall’s departure. The “ATL” star, Lauren London will be joining the cast of the BET sitcom for its sixth season. The 27-year-old, whose previous TV credits include 90210 and Entourage, is penned to play the role of Keira, a 20-year-old former child star who is currently appearing on a Cosby Show-esque sitcom. According to TV Line, the show’s producers are also on the lookout for a male lead to play an educated, all-star running back to act opposite Lauren. The Game has just concluded it’s fifth season, with Pooch’s character deciding to get a fresh start by joining Tia’s character in Washington D.C. The show will return next year with regulars Wendy Raquel Robinson, Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez, Brandy Norwood and Barry A. Floyd. A new set of characters may be just the thing the writers need to breathe new life into the stale show. It would have been nice for them to introduce the new characters before getting rid of Derwin and Melanie, but maybe they’ll do guest spots to help phase out their storyline. Michael Trautmann) after a carjacking gone wrong. Filmmaker Aimee Lagos makes her feature debut with 96 Minutes following her award-winning short Underground , again examining what happens when class and social lines collide; after the jump, Lagos takes us through 13 moments from the shooting of her film. Filmed over the course of 18 days in Atlanta, GA, 96 Minutes debuted at SXSW and also stars David Oyelowo ( Rise of the Planet of the Apes , Red Tails , Lincoln ). This is a very poignant scene in the film taken right from what I saw happen everyday when I was working in the inner city. In this scene police officers accost Dre without provocation as he’s walking home from school – it’s a humiliating and demoralizing experience that too many young people have to deal with on a daily basis.” Lagos: “THE PORCH in Mechanicsville – one of my favorite locations in the film. Markice Kesan Moore, Pill, Jon Chaffin, Dale Neal and J.Michael Trautmann, hang out between takes of their funny if volatile scene where Kevin begs to join their street crew.” Lagos: “Brittany Snow (Carley) and Christian Serratos (Lena) rehearse a long walk and talk scene where the two girls bond after Carley rescues Lena from a potentially painful run in with her ex.” Lagos: “This is an incredibly intense and heart-rending scene between David Oyelowo (Duane) and Brittany Snow (Carley) that comes right at the climax of the film. So despite losing her role on “Single Ladies,” it looks like Stacey Dash is going to be alright!
