It’s a big day for blondes! (Insert your own “dumb blonde” joke here. We recommend: Bigger than the day they invented the submarine with screen doors?! ) First, Kim Kardashian went blonde for Paris Fashion Week and incurred the wrath of the entire Internet. Now, Jared Leto has become the latest celeb to join House Slytherin, and his golden coif is receiving slightly better reviews. Earlier this week, Leto chopped off his hair and documented the lock-ectomy on Instagram. It was a big deal, as Jared’s Jesus-like man-mane was a famous symbol of his outsider status. The Oscar winner had to part with his hair (pardon the pun) to play the Joker in Suicide Squad – the latest highly-anticipated comic book adaptation. So it makes sense why he went short (No one would be scared of a Joker who looks like he wants to sell you weed.), but the color choice is a bit harder to understand. Did Jared go blonde in preparation for dying his hair green, a la Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson, and every other big screen Joker? Or is he taking the iconic villain in a different direction with a sort of Joffrey Baratheon, Aryan Brotherhood vibe? We may not know until the film comes out, but either way, it’ll be interesting to see tree-hugging Leto transform himself into the scariest insane clown outside of a Juggalo convention. Jared Leto is a brilliant actor, a celebrated singer/musician, and above all else: a hottie. And now he’s gonna go and get all fat? Leto has for all intents and purposes “won Hollywood.” Now he wants to really “challenge” himself with the role of the famous super villain, The Joker, in the upcoming film, Suicide Squad . In an interview with Billboard magazine , Leto discussed the challenges that the iconic character presents: The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character – that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? … [He’s] this beautiful disaster of a character – what a big challenge … I’m trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours, and I’m terrible at eating a lot. Tackling a role that’s been made famous by such acting greats as Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson, that’s a challenge. Having to eat a lot? That’s NOT a challenge. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “hey … didn’t Jared Leto hook up with Katy Perry last year?” Why yes he did. They hooked up at Coachella. And hooking up with Katy Perry certainly does seem like it would be a challenge to the rest of us. But not to Leto, who’s won an Oscar and fronts a massive rock band. Eating too much is his idea of a challenge. But hey, different things are challenging to different people, I guess. Remember, Jared Leto has a giant penis , plus he’s rich and handsome. If you were ever on the fence in the ongoing Team LeAnn Rimes vs. Team Brandi Glanville feud, there’s one thing that will likely get you off that fence: LeAnn & Eddie. The couple’s reality show is that bloody terrible. Brandi Glanville has always held a certain place in our hearts due to her unfiltered nature, unabashed sarcasm, underrated wit and occasional charm. Gone are the days when Queen Elizabeth II could control something. Not that she ever had any real power in the political sense, but she ruled her family! While Kate Middleton and Europe’s longest-reigning ruler seem to get along, she has been at war with Queen Elizabeth over Prince William’s future. Or so the tabloids would have us believe. And now, according to one celebrity gossip source, Kate has won a DECISIVE victory in this ongoing battle: The two are peacing out of the palace in London and relocating for his new job as an air ambulance pilot, defying his regal grandmother’s wishes. Supposedly. The East Anglian Air Ambulance is much closer to Anmer Hall, where they’ll be living, than to London, so in a sense this is a non-issue. Nothing is a non-issue in this family, though, and depending on what you read, this move was either a minor issue or a huge one for Queen Elizaeth II. Kate Middleton and William living at Kensington Palace made it fairly easy for Her Royal Majesty to try and bully them, according to a royal source. She fought this long and hard, though, encouraging her to let William to be his own man, basing his future on (gasp) logic rather than dated protocol. Kate and William have allegedly hated their time in London, and being under the Queen’s thumb hasn’t helped their marriage or their daily lives. As a result, as they say on Duck Dynasty , THEY GONE. The duo intends to move in to their country estate this fall and they couldn’t be happier, as they feel it’s a better living situation for themselves and Prince George. Elizabeth, supposedly, is beyond furious that Kate spent so much time and money renovating their digs in London just to pull up the stakes and bounce. For Kate, though, it’s all about keeping herself, her man and her little man happy and on track, and making sure she has a voice when it comes to those things. What do you think?
