There’s only two things you need to know about these pictures of Lourdes Leon smoking on the beach in France: 1) she’s Madonna ‘s daughter, and 2) she’s only 17. Hmm, sorry, maybe I should’ve led with that one. Hope it didn’t get any of you in trouble. Anyway, since smoking is a nasty habit (no matter what age you are), I’d ask where her mother is, but to be honest, I’m kind of glad she wasn’t at the beach with her, since it’ll help keep my lunch down. Ellen Degeneres Gives Waitress $10,000 For Paying For Soldiers’ Lunch Via People A New Hampshire waitress who picked up the lunch tab of two National Guard soldiers affected by the federal government’s shutdown has been repaid – more than 300 times over – by television star Ellen DeGeneres. Sarah Hoidahl, a waitress in Concord, N.H., just wanted to do a nice thing for the soldiers, so she paid for their lunch. It cost her $27.75. On Friday, DeGeneres squared the tab and then some, giving Hoidahl $27.75 in cash and a check for $10,000. An emotional Hoidahl buried her face in her hands and thanked DeGeneres as the talk show host repeated, “You’re a good person.” DeGeneres caught wind of Hoidahl’s act of kindness when the New Hampshire National Guard posted a picture on its Facebook page. The story spread quickly online, producers saw it and invited Hoidahl to Hollywood. Ellen also gave her a 50-inch television. Gianni Versace’s Miami Mansion Is On Sale For $125 Million Talk about living in style: Casa Casuarina, the former home of the late fashion designer Gianni Versace, has just hit the market for a whopping $125 million. Though the price tag may seem unnaturally steep to most, for this level of luxury real estate, it’s no surprise. The world famous home, built in Miami Beach in 1930, sprawls across 19,000 square feet. It features 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 54-foot-long pool lined in 24-karat gold and ornate, Medusa-emblazoned front gates (the same gates at which Versace was fatally shot in 1997). “This is not only the most well-known property on South Beach,” says listing agent Jill Eber of Coldwell Banker, “it’s also known worldwide for its attention to detail throughout every room, its elegance and its style.” Its link to one of the world’s most iconic fashion designers probably doesn’t hurt, either. Versace bought the home and its adjacent lot in 1992 for just under $10 million, and then invested another $33 million in the property. The haute couture designer added a 6,100-square-foot south wing, a mosaic-covered courtyard, frescoes on the home’s walls and ceilings, and the aforementioned gold-lined pool. Three years after Versace’s death, telecom entrepreneur Peter Loftin purchased the property for $20 million and turned it into a luxury boutique hotel with restaurant. The multi-million-dollar listing joins a slew of former homes of late celebrities currently on the market, including Michael Jackson’s California chateau, Beatle George Harrison’s Swiss manor and Amy Winehouse’s London apartment. Texas Mother Arrested For Putting PCP In Child’s Lunch Travis County sheriff’s investigators have charged a Del Valle woman after they say she put the drug PCP into her 6-year-old daughter’s school lunch, according to an arrest affidavit filed with Travis County courts today. Torina Ann Gutierrez, 34, faces a charge of endangering a child, a state jail felony. She is not currently in custody, according to jail records. The affidavit said that on May 4, Gutierrez’s daughter began acting strangely in her first-grade classroom, talking to people who were not there and saying she could hear “banging in her head.” A school counselor called Gutierrez to report what was going on, and Gutierrez said, “Don’t call EMS and don’t call (Child Protective Services), I’m on my way,” the affidavit said. Gutierrez picked the girl up from school, took her home and then called for paramedics, the affidavit said. The girl was tested at a hospital, which returned a positive result for PCP, a powerful and illegal hallucinogen, the affidavit said. She was removed from the home and placed with a family member. Gutierrez also tested positive for the drug, the affidavit said. The girl told investigators that Gutierrez made her lunch that day, and that after she ate it, she felt “crazy and dizzy,” and her lunch meat tasted like “fireworks,” the affidavit said. She called the drug “angel dust” and said she had seen the drug in her home before, the affidavit said. Source
