In Crazy White Folks News: Audio Released Of Mel Gibson Cussing Up A Storm…”I Am Earning Money For A Filthy Little C—sucker”

Screenwriter Releases Audio Of Mel Gibson Expletive Filled Tirade We all knew this guy was off his effin’ rocker, but this isht right chere is cray… Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas says he and his family were house guests of Mel Gibson in Costa Rica last December when the ‘Mad Max’ star went off on a blistering tirade, recorded on an iPhone by Eszterhas ‘ 15-year-old son Nick. Eszterhas provided the audio recording to industry website The Wrap because: “Gibson called me a liar. And I also have some reason to believe he’s creating a PR blitz questioning my truthfulness.” Eszterhas, who wrote the blockbuster “Basic Instinct,” was writing a screenplay for Gibson for a film called “The Maccabees.” The fact that the screenplay had not been completed seems to be one of the things that set Gibson off. “Why don’t I have a first draft of ‘The Maccabees’? What the f**k have you been doing?” he can be heard bellowing on the recording on The Wrap’s website. And it gets worse. Gibson, 56, also screams about Oksana Grigorieva, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his young daughter. “I am earning money for a filthy little c**ksucker who takes advantage of me!” Gibson rants. Eszterhas wrote a scathing, nine-page letter to Gibson in which he accused the actor of “hating Jews” and using “The Maccabees” film project – a story about Jewish heroism — “in an attempt to deflect continuing charges of anti-Semitism which have dogged you, charges which have crippled your career.” “I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make ‘The Maccabees’ is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews,” Eszterhas wrote. “The Maccabees” project was put on hold by Warner Bros. studio, in part due to Eszterhas’ script, The Wrap reported. Gibson has called several of Eszterhas’ assertions “fabrications,” and may sue the writer. The actor is looking into whether Costa Rican laws were violated when he was secretly taped in his home, and if his privacy was violated by the release of the audio, TMZ reports. “The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help,” Eszterhas told TheWrap. “My interest isn’t to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others…. I strongly believe that unless he seeks and receives some kind of psychiatric help, someone is going to get hurt.” Gibson has a long history making racist and anti-Semitic remarks. After a DUI arrest, Gibson exploded that “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” In a voice mail to Grigorieva he said she would be to blame if she were to be “raped by a pack of n**gers.” Grigorieva was granted a restraining order during their custody battle over daughter Lucia. If you think that’s crazy…listen to this isht!! According to Eszterhas’ letter, Gibson’s rant began unexpectedly, as the guests had gathered for before-dinner drinks, and Gibson happened to look at a photo of himself holding his baby daughter Luci in which he was gray and balding: The letter reads: “You were staring at the photograph of you and Luci, your beautiful little girl … and you suddenly exploded. You hurled your cellphone into a wall and started to scream, ‘I look so f**king old! I look horrible! That f**king whore is destroying me! She’s taking my looks! I hate her! She’s destroying my life!’ “You jumped up, screaming full-throated: ‘Look at me!! F**king look at me! Look how terrible I look! Answer me, God! Why did you turn your back on me!? F**k you! F**k you!’ You stepped a few feet away and screamed into the sky, ‘I’m not gonna take it up the a*s anymore and say, ‘Thank you, your honor!’” Sounds like someone needs a little trip to the mental institution…real talk. Mel Gibson Rant: Star RAGES at Joe Eszterhas, Bashes Oksana Grigorieva

Mel Gibson was secretly recorded ranting against Joe Eszterhas over the latter’s draft of their ill-fated film project The Maccabees , and the audio has leaked online. Screenwriter Eszterhas, who recently alleged in a nine-page letter that Mel Gibson hates Jews and wants to stab Oksana Grigorieva , says his son taped Mel. Eszterhas’ family was in Costa Rica at Mel’s house in December. He was tasked writing a first draft of The Maccabees , which didn’t go over well with Gibson. That’s putting it mildly: Mel Gibson Rant (at Joe Eszterhas) Eszterhas’ 15-year-old son, Nick, recorded the Oscar winner with his iPhone, and he was “adamant” his dad release it to the media. So he did, to The Wrap. “Why don’t I have a first draft of The Maccabees? What the f–k have you been doing?” Gibson can be heard yelling in the two-and-a-half-minute tape. Gibson also can be heard yelling, presumably referencing Oksana, that “I am earning money for a filthy little c–ksucker who takes advantage of me!” It’s worth noting that while he scarily rants like a bona fide crazy person, the most inflammatory comments Mel is accused of making do not appear. It’s unclear if there are additional audio recordings. Eszterhas has accused the actor of anti-Semitism and said his only true intention with making The Maccabees was “to convert Jews to Christianity.” In a letter to Gibson, Eszterhas (who is Jewish) claimed he continually referred to Jews in front of him as “Hebes,” “oven-dodgers” and “Jewboys.” He also claims that Mel called the Holocaust “mostly a lot of horses–t” and made horrific comments about Grigorieva, John Lennon and others. Gibson’s initial response to Eszterhas denied the claims that he made the offensive remarks he was accused of making, calling them “utter fabrications.” A rep for the actor-filmmaker tells E! that there will be no comment forthcoming on Eszterhas’ recording, and that Gibson has “nothing more” to say. As for The Maccabees , Warner Bros. previously said that they are still “analyzing what to do with the project” that has been shelved indefinitely. Gibson’s infamous rants against Oksana were one of the biggest stories of 2010, and it looks like he still has a good amount of pent-up anger.

‘Funny, You Don’t Look Jewish’: 7 Mel Gibson Revelations from the Get the Gringo Premiere

Wednesday night in Austin, Texas the embattled (but cheery) Mel Gibson popped down to the Alamo Drafthouse to premiere his latest film/star vehicle, the darkly comic Mexico-set action pic Get the Gringo . Though his most recent and public feud with Maccabee screenwriter Joe Eszterhas took a notoriously ugly turn of late, Gibson was jovial and in a joking mood – even when moderator Harry Knowles dared to make reference to Gibson’s documented anti-Semitic remarks. The film, co-written by Gibson, director Adrian Grunberg, and producer Stacy Perskie over the course of a year and a half (from an idea by Gibson), follows an American career criminal known as Driver (Gibson) as he flees American authorities and makes a break for the U.S. –Mexico border with millions in stolen cash. Thrown into a Mexican prison modeled on a real life “pueblito” – an effective working city operating within the confines of a fortress run by gangsters and corrupt officials – Driver uses his unique set of skills and a newfound friendship with a street-smart 10-year-old (Kevin Hernandez) to survive and plot his way out. Gringo is an effective and at times strangely winning B-movie vehicle for Gibson, whose precise and hardened Driver doles out wisecracks and ruthlessness in equal measure, orchestrating the downfall of a network of interconnected baddies while redeeming himself through his friendship with his young sidekick and the kid’s comely mother. Squibs of blood fly fast and furious as shoot-outs, torture scenes, and an energetic opening car chase scene keep the action pulse quickening throughout; it’s the kind of movie in which Gibson dives sidelong through the air in slow motion in a gunfight and nails a bad guy through the eye with his superhuman shooting skills without getting so much as grazed by a bullet. In other words: It’s better than your average direct-to-DVD title and a fleeting return to the smart-ass Mel Gibson, movie star, that audiences fell for in films like Lethal Weapon . But are audiences ready yet to forgive the once-adored actor for his personal troubles and transgressions ? Gibson’s well-publicized meltdowns are likely partially to blame for Gringo ’s unusual release strategy; instead of a traditional theatrical release, the film will release via Direct TV on May 1. Which brings us to The Awkward Moment at the Gringo premiere when Gibson’s personal troubles came front and center. It was late in the post-premiere Q&A (which was streamed online and shown via satellite in participating theaters) when Knowles turned to director/co-writer Grunberg to address the elephant in the room. “I see that you’ve got a Star of David on,” began Knowles. “How was it — did y’all have any trouble working together or anything?” “I hate his guts,” Grunberg joked, before nodding off any suggestion of ill relations with Gibson. “I’ve known him for six, seven years.” Moments later, co-writer Perskie chimed in with an admission of his own: “I’m Jewish.” “Funny,” quipped Gibson, “you don’t look Jewish!” The attendees around me at the Los Angeles screening audibly gasped at Gibson’s joke, a less than successful attempt at levity. But just like that, the moment when the entire night could’ve bombed just simply passed. Knowles, his basic duty done, moved on to easier topics. What music did the Gringo gang listen to during filming? (“The music of the spheres,” was Gibson’s non-serious answer.) What about that Viking movie? (Oh, that .) So it seems that Gibson’s not quite tiptoeing around his past remarks. It’s business as usual, perhaps – why make a big deal of it? Whether or not that line of flippant joking in the general direction (if not near vicinity) of his most controversial comments to date should affect how film audiences see him is a matter of opinion. For now, mull it over and chew on six more revelations Gibson shared Wednesday night.

Foster The People, Florence Welch Pick Best Of 2011

As MTV unveils our year-end favorites, we ask ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ rockers and Florence and the Machine frontwoman for theirs. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias Foster The People’s Mark Foster and Cubbie Fink Photo: MTV News In 2011, we saw new acts break through to the big time and formerly new ones continue on their paths toward superstardom. We welcomed the likes of the Weeknd and Frank Ocean to the party and watched with pride as Drake and Adele marched on to greatness. But of all the year’s brand-new stars, few broke out to the degree that L.A. rock trio Foster the People did, thanks in no small part to the success of their smash hit “Pumped Up Kicks,” #7 on MTV’s Best Songs of 2011 . Of all the returning stars, none returned with the power and grace of Florence and the Machine, who wowed critics and fans with their sophomore album, Ceremonials, and stirring single “Shake It Out.” So, as MTV looks back on 2011 , we’re reaching out to a host of acts — who not only dominated the past 12 months, but also came to define them — to get their take on the year in music. And who better to ask than Foster and Florence, two artists who did both … and then some? We spoke to both bands about their favorite songs, albums and artists of 2011, and the rather diverse range of answers sort of sums up the year rather nicely. After all, outside of Adele, was there anything we could all agree on? “I’d say probably my favorite album of the year is Bon Iver’s new album , and I hope he sweeps the Grammys, because the guy’s just killing it right now,” Foster’s Cubbie Fink said. “We’re competing with him!” frontman Mark Foster laughed. “And I hope he wins!” Fink said. “I’ve listened to that album on repeat all year. It’s really amazing.” As far as their favorite artist? Well, Iver ranks pretty high, but of all the acts they listened to this year, none resonated with Foster the People quite like Swedish electro act Little Dragon. “They’ve been a favorite band of mine for a while, and we’ve got to play with them a couple times this year and see them live in a bunch of different settings,” Foster’s Mark Pontius said. “I’m always just so inspired by them live, and the new record that came out this year [ Ritual Union ] is pretty fantastic as well.” Florence Welch was inspired this year by the magnificent murk of Canadian R&B producer/singer Abel Tesfaye, better known as the Weeknd. “My favorite song of the year was the Weeknd, ‘High for This,’ ” she said. “That was this year, [right]? I’ve been obsessively listening to that song for the past few days on repeat. I must’ve listened to it about 700 times.” Of course, when it comes to her favorite artists of 2011, Welch kept things close to home, choosing a pair of British bands — one of which didn’t even release an album this year. “I’m really into this English band called the Alpines; I think they’re really good,” she said. “And I’ve just heard some of the Maccabees’ new stuff, and I’m so excited about their new record coming out, because from the first song I’ve heard, it just sounds amazing. I’m such a big fan of theirs, so I’m really looking forward to that.” All this week, watch “AMTV” on MTV every day at 8 a.m. ET for our Best of 2011 lists. Then, come to MTVNews.com at 5 p.m. as we reveal our top picks of the year! Jewish Groups Want Mel Gibson Yanked From Film

Two powerful organizations are far from pleased about recent news that Mel Gibson was cast in a movie about biblical Jewish hero Judah Maccabee. The Anti-Defamation League has demanded that the producers pull Gibson off the flick immediately, sending a statement directed at Warner Bros. Why are they fired up? Probably this incident , among others. “As a hero of the Jewish people and a universal hero in the struggle for religious liberty, Judah Maccabee deserves better,” the group said of Mel. “It would be a travesty to have the story of the Maccabees told by one who has no respect and sensitivity for other people’s religious views.” Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, also had some harsh words about Gibson’s role in the upcoming film. The Jewish leader tells TMZ that casting Mel Gibson as a Jewish hero is “like having a white supremacist portray Martin Luther King Jr.” For those unaware, Judah, the brave warrior who drove enemies of Judaism out of Jerusalem, is a central figure in the story of Hannukah. No comment yet from Mel’s camp or WB. [Photo: WENN.com]
