‘Basketball Wives’ Recap: They’re Still On Some Colorist Bull With OG

Source: Robin L Marshall / Getty Tonight on another episode of Basketball Wives we got to see another round of these idiot grown women acting a’fool. Shaunie is getting into real estate, as we know. She wants some of her ventures to be overseas so she invited everyone except for Jenn to Costa Rica so there will be more girls trip shenanigans soon. Apparently, Shaunie is mad at Jenn again, and so is Evelyn. I don’t know what happened between the episode that they all made up and Jenn apologized, and tonight’s episode, but I guess Evelyn and Shaunie needed something to beef about because they went back to saying that Jenn wasn’t really genuine and that they were over her. It was like an episode of the Twilight Zone . Jenn has been on some BS at times during this show, but in this case, she really didn’t seem to be on her drama tip. She just left them claiming that she was done with them for real. Okay, girl.   They always claim they’re done but the allure of attention via reality TV gets strong and they come running right back. Remember when Evelyn was “fixing her life” with Iyanla, got her own show and was allegedly on this positive kick? Then her show got canceled and she went running right back to Basketball Wives and it didn’t take her long to revert back to her old evil self. Anyway… The episode ends on another wack note with Evelyn and OG arguing again. OG is a straight shooter, and she’s not scared of these women, nor does she try too hard to be their friend, which they don’t seem like. So, Evelyn’s “Toe-gie” comment came up again and they started going back and forth about that. Basically, OG doesn’t appreciate Evelyn’s ish talking because if it were the other way around Evelyn would be trying to throw drinks, hands and whatever else, and we’ve seen it numerous times. They claim they don’t like OG because she’s aggressive but OG never actually acted on any of her threats. She has kept it quite calm throughout the entire season. There was even a moment where OG invited the group to a party that her family threw because she wanted them to get to know her and see her culture. Only Jackie and Jenn actually showed up (Cece couldn’t make it). OG was disappointed because it was her once again attempting to extend an olive branch only for her to b dismissed. To make things worse, word on these cyber streets is that OG wasn’t even allowed to film the reunion on stage, which was taped last Monday. Girl, they had her in another room communicating via satellite because the other women didn’t feel safe. Mind you, people who were there say there was fighting and object-throwing happening on stage. Obviously, none of that was OG. So, once again, we’re back wondering why they were so afraid of OG. She did make some threats here and there but again never actually acted violently and she only verbally sparred with people who came at her first with whatever shady comment they felt like making that day. It’s no different from when your mom threatened to kill you but never actually did.  So, say it with me, colorism (might even be xenophobia too). OG even seemed to agree but according to MadameNoire, when it was brought up, she was dismissed, which is what people usually like to do when dark skin girls bring up colorism. Such a shame. They are interesting and I would like to see more of them as a couple, more of OG trying to be a coach and whatever other million jobs she has, and more of her life as a Nigerian-American woman in an unconventional field of work. ‘Basketball Wives’ Recap: This OG Situation Seems Like Colorism At Work

Source: Robin L Marshall / Getty Tonight’s episode of Basketball Wives finds us still in San Diego. Evelyn and Jennifer are finally friends again, but more beef lurks elsewhere, of course. Malaysia is annoyed that Evelyn and Jenn made up because she still doesn’t rock with Jenn. She didn’t think Evelyn would go for it, but she did so now Malaysia feels like she’s the only person left who hasn’t been fooled by Jenn. Other people in the group think it’s time to get Malaysia and Jenn together to talk, other people is Jackie. However, if you recall,  we last left Malaysia and Jenn’s relationship in shambles after Malaysia threw a table at Jenn because she felt like Jenn tried to use her to spread malicious rumors about Evelyn and her daughter. Forgiveness from Malaysia probably isn’t happening any time soon but she does plan to apologize to Jenn for throwing a table at her.  In other news, CeCe is preparing for her upcoming wedding, but Byron and his kids (including Kristen) still aren’t on the same page. There’s a chance that they might not show up to his wedding. However, Malaysia and Kristen still feel like they can work things out and be a happy family. We’ll see.  It’s dinner time now the ponderosa begins. Everyone feels the need to tell OG how wrong she was for spilling the tea about Kristen’s husband and talking smack about her man, yatta yatta. Now, OG was wrong for volunteering that information. However, OG brought up a good point when she mentioned that Kristen said lots of nasty things about her and her relationship. In OG’s mind, they were at a war of words and now they’re even. This isn’t enough for the rest of these hyenas. They harp on OG being wrong and really think she should apologize to Kristen. Mind you, no one is saying anything to Kristen, who definitely isn’t innocent. Once again, OG makes a good point, which is that if Kristen doesn’t talk about her nasty then she won’t talk nasty about Kristen.  Feby jumps into the mix and asks everyone to go downstairs to watch her new video. As everyone heads down, Jenn pulls OG aside and shows her a video of Feby talking smack about her, and then mentions how Feby told them she wrote a diss track about OG. Jenn is being messy, but she’s actually not wrong here. She just doesn’t want OG to be blindsided.  OG wastes no time going straight to Feby to see what’s up. She asks Feby directly if she wrote a diss track about her. Feby completely punks out. She was all talk when she was telling Evelyn, Shaunie, and Malaysia, verbatim, that she wrote a diss track about OG. However, she tells OG that she just said she wrote some rhymes about people who wear fake clothes. Everyone who heard Feby say what she said is looking at Feby sideways but none of them really call her out on it. OG then tells Feby that she could deliver those Nigerian fists of fury and kill her with her bare hands but has decided to keep it cute. Now, if you’ve been watching this show for multiple seasons you know dang well there has been a lot of aggression. Nothing should be that surprising, but apparently, OG’s comment is enough to shock everyone. Like, they’re literally all pretending to be appalled by OG’s commentary.  Shaunie even says that OG’s “aggression” is driving a wedge between her and everything else. So, all the times Tami attempted to beat the breaks off someone, all the time Evelyn has run across tables and also attempted to beat the breaks off someone, Jackie has actually fought and attempted to fight, Malaysia threw a dang table at Jenn, but OG, who has actually never attempted violence, simply speaking about violence while defending herself, is scaring them?  Yeah, okay. What’s the difference between OG and all of the aforementioned women? Complexion. People in these Twitter streets, self-included, think this is colorism at play. Debate your mother! She’s not the next hip-hop it girl, though.  Now we’re back in San Diego. Cece and Byron meet up with OG for dinner. OG wants to clarify the things Malaysia said about CeCe and Byon feeding OG info to use as ammo, and whether they’re using her or not. Byron and Cece deny this, of course. Byron said OG has always been cool, and so has her man and that the drama isn’t his style. He just wants to move on. He then says that his conversation with Malaysia was about trying to repair the family. Mind you, Byron never said what Malaysia said he said, but OG wants to know where the ammunition stuff is coming from and asks directly. Byron said he never said that. OG is cool with his answer and that’s that for now.  Byron and CeCe are coming across as really fake, but whatever. OG wouldn’t be in this situation if she had just minded her business, but I digress. Things will get worse in the upcoming episodes. Who Will Receive John Singleton’s Money? Family Fights Over Filmmaker’s Will

I t’s been a little more than a week since John Singleton died, but there was already a battle brewing over his fortune. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker and father of seven left a will that was from 1993 when he only had one child. Now the siblings were reportedly preparing for a battle in court. SEE ALSO:  John Singleton’s Family Moves To Protect His Assets Sheila Ward, Singleton’s mother who also handled all of her son’s business affairs, reportedly filed the 1993 will in court. TMZ reported that  “she listed his assets at around $3.8 mil. That means more than $31 million is unaccounted for.” Singleton’s estate was estimated to be worth $35 million. It is possible Singleton had a trust for his kids, which would mean they wouldn’t have to go through a will. As it stands now, under law all of the money would go to his firstborn, Justice. However, another of Singleton’s kids, Cleopatra, reportedly accused Ward of trying to block the children from the estate. TMZ also reported that if Singleton “had died without a will, Sheila would get nothing from his reported $35 million estate, because under California law the assets would be divided equally among his 7 children. But, since there’s a will, John decides who gets what, and who gets nothing. Given the business relationship between John and Sheila, it’s a safe bet she’s the executor of the will, which surely would not please Cleopatra.” Cleopatra filed a motion to block her grandmother’s proposed conservatorship and claimed Ward was trying to liquidate all of John’s assets and freeze out his children. TMZ also reported “the kids could file a separate lawsuit if they have beef over the trust or whatever John created to dispose of the $31 mil. A legal fight may not just pit grandma against grandkids … it could also pit some of the kids against the others.” Singleton was hospitalized last month after he suffered a stroke. The family decided to take the 51-year-old off life support on April 17, when he died . Singleton was reportedly experiencing weakness in his leg after flying back from Costa Rica before he suffered his stroke. The long flight may have triggered the medical emergency. Singleton is known for films like 1991’s “Boyz n the Hood,” which earned him Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. He was the youngest filmmaker to be nominated in those categories. He was also the first African-American to be nominated for Best Director. Rest in power, John Singleton. Kailyn Lowry-Leah Messer Bikini Pics Create Controversy on Twitter!

Usually, when we’re reporting on relations between members of the Teen Mom 2 cast, it’s because one of the many conflicts among the Moms has once again spiraled out of control. So it’s a nice change of pace to see fans focusing on the close friendship between Kailyn Lowry and Leah Messer. Truth be told, with the exceptions of Jenelle Evans and Briana DeJesus, the entire cast seems to get along. But the friendship between Leah and Kail is truly something special. These two don’t just get along at the show’s annual reunion tapings — they regularly travel in order to spend time together. Currently, they’re on vacation in Costa Rica, and from the looks of the pics they’ve been posting, they’re having one hell of a time: So why are their social media followers digging deep in order to locate some drama in this blissful situation? The main fabricated storyn here is the possibility that Kail and Leah are in a romantic relationship. We’ve detailed the most common arguments for this in the slideshow below. Spoiler alert: They mostly consist of some variation on “Kailyn is bisexual, and she and Leah enjoy spending time together, so yeah … lesbians.” But as lame and possibly offensive as that nonsense narrative is, it still beats the other most common response to Lowry and Messer’s vacay updates. Believe it or not, in 2019, fans and media outlets alike are engaging in serious conversations about who looks better in their swimwear, Leah or Kail. Yes, two friends both grown women with children and six-figure (or more careers) go on vacation together, and the public feels compelled to obsess over who’s in better shape. The situation is particularly appalling as it comes on the heels of Kail being brutally body-shamed by Jenelle’s husband, noted dog murderer David Eason . “I’m sorry but there is nothing stunning about being overweight,” David wrote alongside a photo of Kail on his Instagram account. “How about promoting a healthy lifestyle instead of making it seem okay to be unhealthy?” Kail was quick to respond, writing: “I can change my body. He can’t change who he is.”  So let’s just all set aside the question of who looks better in a bikini and focus on the issues we can all agree on — like the fact that David Eason might be the biggest douche bag on the planet. Chris Marek: Scared to Marry Amy Roloff?

Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff was married to Matt Roloff for 27 years, but she seems excited to get hitched again. Or at least open to the idea. Boyfriend Chris Marek, however, seems a little … lukewarm at best when it comes to marriage. Last night on an all-new  Little People, Big World , Amy and Chris went on a camping trip with their friends Ron and Beth. Ron and Beth, Chris explains, got together around the same time, and “are trying to figure out what the future looks like.” “They’ve discussed marriage and living together, and they’re at that point where they’re trying to work that out.” Which is awkward for Chris. Because … Well, it’s been two and a half years of dating, and Amy is getting to the point where she’s interested in a long-term commitment. “I met Matt at a conference. I saw him four times, [then] we were married,” she says of her ex-husband, with whom she has four kids. “So dating Chris, I’m calling up my girlfriends and I’m like, ‘What is dating?! I don’t even know what the hell that is.” Chris, when asked about marriage? “I’ve seen a lot of failed marriages, a lot of divorces, in my family. All my siblings, my mother,” he says. “I mean, I saw a lot of examples of people that loved each other but could not live with each other.” “But I’m certainly not against marriage,” Marek adds. “I never thought I’d be this age and still single.” “I’m glad to see that you’re not against marriage, because that would be a problem,” Amy responded. Later, Amy told the TLC reality show’s cameras that getting married is still “very, very important” to her. “Even though I’m divorced, I still value and will hold up high the whole concept, the reason, the purpose,” she said. “And if by chance I get to do that again, I would still put everything that I can, as best as I can, to make it work.” Nice to see one divorce hasn’t clouded her views on future relationships at what is clearly a different phase of life. Amy Roloff Fans Slam Chris Marek, Question His "Creepy" Motives

Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff is living her best life, but fans continue to demand to know when she'll get engaged to Chris Marek . After her latest romantic getaway with her boyfriend, some of Amy's fans and followers are growing suspicious. Some accuse Chris of being downright creepy. “Costa Pura Vida,” Amy writes on Instagram. “Beautiful country and people.” She and boyfriend Chris Marek went on a stunning romantic vacation for Valentine's Day. “Great R&R time w/ Chris and friends,” Amy writes. “Time to say audios until maybe next time.” “We’re ready to come home,” her caption concludes. “Because there’s no place like ‘home’.” “Chris and I had a great time in Costa Rica,” Amy tells her fans and followers in a thoughtful video. “It was a good R&R,” she shares. “But,” Amy continues. “Like everything else, we're ready to go home.” She explains: “I'm ready to see my grandkids and get back to life.” “And,” she adds. “Figure out Amy Roloff's Little Kitchen.” It is no surprise to longtime followers that Amy found a way to plug her products in the video. “And,” Amy adds. “Continue on with my book. A whole bunch of other stuff.” “Life's back home,” she affirms. “But you can hear the fountain,” Amy notes. “The pool area.” “It's been great,” she gushes. “Costa Rica's been wonderful, and I hope to be back.” “Anyway, back to cold weather,” she says. “Back to normal. Back to reality. And that's a good place to be.” (Not everyone would enjoy tropical weather, but clearly Amy does) Amy's cheerful posts and photos didn't bring a smile to everyone's face, however. Some took aim at Amy's relationship with Chris Marek — and were especially critical of Chris himself. “Didn't buy the cow,” notes one hater. “Gets the milk for free. Shame on you both!” We're still comparing women to livestock and shaming people for not being married? What year is it? “What's his motive?” another demands to know. “Why can't he commit?” “He's creepy,” accuses one commenter. “I wish he'd ask for your hand in marriage,” laments a nosey troll. “I wish he'd surprise you with a ring,” writes another hater, noting that Chris had given her a Valentine's card.” That same commenter continues: “Praying God gives you wisdom regarding the situation. Enjoy!” “Hum no ring,” another observed. Fortunately, Amy did see plenty of much nicer fans leave much more supportive comments. You know, like actual fans. First and foremost, Amy is a grown woman, She and Chris are consenting adults. If someone has a personal religious or non-religious reservation about non-marital sex, that's valid … for them. It's purely their business. Similarly, Amy's romance with Chris is purely her business. She doesn't ever have to marry him or anyone else. Second of all, there are a lot of people who think that Chris is just “using” Amy for fame or somesuch. Even if Amy appeases the people cranky about non-marital “milk,” those people will freak out if she and Chris get hitched. Finally, the suspicious about motives crowd really needs to lay off, because they're being ableist and insulting. They're implying that Chris couldn't just be interested in Amy because she's a beautiful, intelligent woman. Their implication is that because she is a little person, Chris must have some ulterior motive for dating her. That is a sickening, ableist suggestion. Cut it out.

Two Georgia Women Arrested After Selling Weed Edibles At Church

Two Georgia women face felony drug charges after they were arrested by narcotics officers for selling marijuana edibles on the grounds of their church. Per WJLA , 28-year-old  Ebony Cooper and 26-year-old  Leah Pressley were booked after the two attended an event hosted by a church in Savannah, Georgia. Local entrepreneurs were on the grounds of the church selling items and a vendor outside the church hosted the event. According to a police report, the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team began watching Cooper who had a booth on the premises selling cereal treats, brownies, pudding and other weed-infused items. Some of the officers even bought a few of the products. Once the event was over, the CNT followed the two women and finally apprehended them, seizing $1,000 in cash, a large amount of edibles and a loaded firearm. Cooper and Pressley were charged with felony drug possession and CNT also discovered that Cooper was advertising her “baked goods” on social media. Kourtney to Khloe: Stop Being a "Pregnant Whore!"

It is about to be  on  between Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian. In the following sneak peek from Sunday's season finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashian, Khloe, Kourtney and  Kim Kardashian  are on a boat, on their way to Alcatraz. But the soon-to-be mother of one isn't exactly enjoying herself because Kourtney is on the phone, clearly distracted by someone (or some one ) from this cool family experience. “What the f-ck are you here for?” Khloe asks her sister as soon as she hangs up, adding: “Don’t chime in if you’re not going to get off your f-cking phone call all the time. You’re like, a waste of space in my meter right now.” Yikes. A bit harsh of a reaction to someone who was simply chatting on the phone? Try telling that to a pregnant woman's hormones. “You’re annoying as f-ck now when we’re together,” Khloe continues, on a rather intense roll. “This is what you do. You’re on your phone the whole time. You’re just not present!” Taken aback by this reply, Kourtney stammers that she was only on the call for 10 minutes and that her sister needs to take a chill pill.
