Rumer and Val won season 20 of DWTS with the help of their fans, so Val took a moment to thanks their fans with a heartfelt message on Instagram soon afterward. Sharing an adorable crayon drawing of the two from the finale episode, Val addressed “incredible fans” via a heartfelt message and wrote: “Wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of the incredible fans of #TeamValenRue that supported us this season. “Every edit, every kind comment, every phone call and vote casted we appreciate it so so very much. It is incredibly humbling to know how many people genuinely wanted to see Rumer and I win. Means the world, today and forever. Love you guys very very much.” This is Val’s first trophy on DWTS . But winning runs in the family. His older brother Maksim won a mirrorball trophy on season 18 with partner Meryl Davis. The elder Chmerkovskiy left a message on Instagram, too. On a photo with fellow DWTS pro-dancer Tony Dovolani, he wrote: ”BANG BANG BANG!!! Our balls get shinier every year!!!” Rumer got choked up in an interview where she also expressed her gratitude for the experience on the show. J.Lo has officially gone ghost on her baby backup dancer Casper the Friendly Ho , and decided to cha-cha with “Dancing With The Stars” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy instead. Why waste time, right? Via Page Six : Jennifer Lopez isn’t shedding tears over her split with boy-toy Casper Smart because she’s already moved on to “Dancing With the Stars” hunk Maksim Chmerkovskiy, sources tell Page Six. We’re told Lopez met Maks when they began working on a performance ahead of the American Music Awards late last year. One source said, “They were definitely attracted to each other, but nothing happened between them” because Lopez was still with former backup dancer Smart and Maks was dating model Kate Upton, with whom he broke up weeks later. The source added J.Lo and Maks have remained in close contact and were spotted meeting up at the Redbury Hotel in LA in March. Life & Style reported, “At one point, he put his arm around her waist and they seemed to be locked in a very passionate conversation.” Lopez, who’s in Brazil for the World Cup opening, and Maks are expected to meet up when he returns from a two-week trip to India. Their reps declined to comment. J.Lo knows she keeps a man on deck! Talk about a serial monogamist. Good to see she’s unbothered and back in the saddle so quickly…but it’s also totally fine to give your coochie some breathing space sometimes. Just saying.
James Maslow fans are fuming over last night’s Dancing With the Stars results show, claiming the vote tallies that led to the singer’s departure are bogus. Maslow got the chop despite not finishing with the lowest score from the judges. In fact, he bested Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas by several points. Some fans are crying foul, citing a supposed glitch in fan voting might have cost James and his partner Peta Murgatroyd votes. Claiming votes for James and Peta were instead counted for Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the Big Time Rush rocker’s supporters are irate. But a rep for ABC claims that despite this automated Facebook response, the votes were all counted and counted correctly. No conspiracies here. According to TMZ, the show rep blew off the apparent voting error as a “caching anomaly” that only affected a small amount of users Monday night. You buying it? Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Dancing with the Stars feuds have gone hand in hand over the years, but in this case, most fans are likely to be on his side. The combustible pro is none too pleased at Julianne Hough, who guest judged the ABC hit series this week and hinted that he phoned in his performance. “You can accuse me of a lot of things,” said Maksim. “You can’t accuse me of not working hard enough.” Danica McKellar & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Jive – Week 4 Maks’ comments came in response to Hough’s accusation that he didn’t give it all on Monday’s “switch up” episode , when he partnered with Danica McKellar. Suffice it to say, Chmerkovskiy didn’t take kindly to that. Following the blowup, some social media users suggested that Hough may have been taking sides because her brother Derek is still in competition. “She said it and now she has to own up to it,” said Maks. After perfect and near-perfect performances saw Ricki Lake take back the lead on Dancing With the Stars , the question was who would join her in the finals. With Ricki a virtual lock (her scores far outpaced two competitors, she’s solid every week, and she has Derek Hough as a partner), it came down to this trio. Surprisingly, Rob Kardashian was the one breathing down Ricki’s next Monday, with J.R. Martinez a distant third, followed by Hope Solo in last place. Was last night the end of the line for Rob, Hope, or J.R.? Hope has continued to improve, but would it be fast enough for fans given that Rob has also surged in popularity and skill, and J.R. remains one of the favorites? The program has seen many worthy dancers set home prematurely, even this season. You just never know. So which one of these contenders got the heave-ho?
