New England Snow Storm: A Possible Record-Breaker

New England is bracing for a possibly record-setting winter storm on Friday, with up to two feet of snow expected and airlines canceling thousands of flights. The system – Winter Storm Nemo – was blowing in from the Midwest where it began dropping snow on the Chicago area on Thursday afternoon. It was due to bring light snow to the Northeastern United States on Friday morning before ramping up to blizzard conditions by afternoon and evening. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino closed schools on Friday and urged businesses to consider allowing staff to stay home, to reduce the risk of getting stranded. “We are hardy New Englanders, let me tell you, and used to these types of storms. But I also want to remind everyone to use common sense,” he said. “Basically, stay home. Stay put after noontime tomorrow.” City officials up and down the northeastern United States were bracing for the snow storm, readying fleets of plows and salt trucks to keep streets clear. Airport officials advised travelers to try to reschedule flights. The National Weather Service said Boston could get 18-24 inches of snow on Friday and Saturday, its first heavy snowfall in almost two years. All or most of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire could all see 18-24 inches as well, with locally higher amounts possible. New York City could receive at least a foot of snow. Light snow is expected to begin falling around 7 a.m. on Friday, with heavier snow and winds gusting as high as 60-75 miles per hour as the day progresses. “It’s the afternoon rush-hour time frame into the evening and overnight when the height of the storm will be,” said Kim Buttrick of the National Weather Service. Airlines have already nixed more than 2,200 flights planned for Friday, with the largest number of cancelations at airports in New York, Chicago and Boston. Be safe, people.

Anna Claudia Ferraz is Hot in Women’s Health South Africa of the Day

There is not much on the internet about this Anna Claudia Ferraz character…but she’s in Women’s Health South Africa looking good, so I lik her…. I was going to say that Women’s Health magazine having a South Africa version is funny, because my ignorant ass believes it would be a free pamplhet AIDS Aid Workers would be handing out in villages in Afrikaan….but I guess there’s an upper class community that doesn’t livee in tribal villages and not HIV Positive….. But I am pretty confident getting a gig modling in Women’s Health South Africa can’t be considered a big break, you’d get more exposure working the cash at Walmart in the midwest, but she is pretty spectacular to look at…I may be in love.

Jenna Jameson Is A Natural Beauty

The other day Jenna Jameson gave me a hard time about allegedly bashing her on my silly website, who, I didn’t think she was actually going to read this crap, so these are for her. Here’s my all time favorite pornstar looking fresh and rested and fit as a fiddle in some sexy Twitter bikini pictures I just happened upon. She looks so young and natural, like an eighteen year old from the midwest. I’m impressed. She must be working out or eating right or something… etc. Are you happy now princess?

Adele Reschedules North American Tour Dates

Singer will hit the road again on August 9 in Vancouver following her doctor-ordered hiatus due to laryngitis. By Jocelyn Vena Adele Photo: Stefan M. Prager/Redferns After canceling her North American tour earlier this month due to laryngitis, Adele has just announced the rescheduled dates for the trek. She will resume performing beginning on August 9 in Vancouver. After the stop in Canada, the tour circles back around to missed tour dates on the West Coast and in the Midwest, wrapping up on August 24. Adele is also set to add six more dates to the tour, stopping in Las Vegas; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Durham, North Carolina; Orlando, Florida; Miami; and Spring, Texas from October 7 through October 21. Despite the health setback, Adele’s album 21 has been bouncing around the top of the charts for more than three months now. Atop the charts for the last 10 of the 17 weeks it’s been out, this week it lands at #3, falling behind Bad Meets Evil ‘s (better known as Eminem and Royce Da 5’9”) Hell: The Sequel as well as 11-year-old “America’s Got Talent” soprano opera singer Jackie Evancho’s Dream With Me . So, why is Adele so unstoppable this year? “It shows the power … of her fanbase. You’ve got a song that’s performing very, very well, still being discovered by new people every week,” Nielsen SoundScan’s senior vice president of analytics Dave Bakula told MTV News. “You’ve got an artist here who wasn’t a household name prior to this record coming out, so you do still have that discovery process going on with her. “What it really goes to show is the fact that there still are that many people discovering the album every week,” he added. “I think it shows a lot about the latent demand that is out there for great music.” Related Artists Adele

Tupac’s Teasing Inspires Tech N9ne’s New Video

Kansas City MC says playful ‘Pac taunts like ‘How’s Dorothy and Toto?’ sparked concept for ‘He’s a Mental Giant’ clip. By Rob Markman Tech N9ne Photo: MTV News Strange music indeed. In Tech N9ne ‘s latest music video, “He’s a Mental Giant,” the Kansas City, Missouri, rapper puts a hip-hop twist on the 1939 classic film “The Wizard of Oz.” While Tech says that the clip’s concept came from director Dan Gedman, he also credits Tupac with helping to spark the idea. “I remember when I met Tupac in ’92 at Jack the Rapper [music conference] at the Atlanta Hilton. I used to be down there in the lobby and Tupac down there drunk, yelling and stuff. I used to tell everybody I was from K.C.; they was like, ‘They let y’all rap in Kansas City? How’s Dorothy and Toto?’ ” he recalled of the ribbing he got from ‘Pac and other rappers. “I’m like, ‘OK, watch this.’ ” Of course, Tech hails from the Missouri city, not the state of Kansas, where “Oz” is set. Regardless, the “Mental Giant” clip shows Tecca Nina looking into a crystal ball as another incarnation of the MC wanders through a fantasy world. Throughout his journey, Tech avoids various pitfalls like lustful women and an alien air-raid before escaping in a hot-air balloon made of stone. “Mental Giant” is the second single off of Tech’s All 6’s and 7’s, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard albums chart this week thanks to Nina’s dedicated fanbase , an 82-city tour and, of course, creative video concepts. “I just did it and some crazy-ass Wizard of Oz on ecstasy and shrooms came out,” he laughed. “I think that’s a good thing.” Related Artists Tech N9ne Tupac

Stevie Stone Talks Signing With Tech N9ne’s Label

‘It was a move that was in my heart,’ rapper tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman Stevie Stone Photo: MTV News Fire Starter: Stevie Stone Some things were just meant to be. In the case of St. Louis, Missouri, rapper Stevie Stone , signing with Tech N9ne ‘s Strange Music label was well in the works before the up-and-coming rapper signed his name on the dotted line. After opening for Tech with a 10-minute set in a Fulton, Missouri, show as a high school student in 2000, Stone knew that he wanted to pursue music full-time. “That 10 minutes gave me the bug,” Stevie told Mixtape Daily at a recent Independence, Missouri, album signing event for Tech’s All 6’s and 7’s. Through the years the young MC kept in close contact, doing shows with Tech even though he signed his initial deal with Ruthless Records, the label co-founded by the late Eazy-E. In 2009 Stone dropped his debut album, New Kid Comin. Tech appeared on the LP on a song called “Midwest Explosion.” “A lot of his fans — Technicians, Juggalos — all of them adapted to it,” Stone said of the song. “My name started buzzing around here, especially in the Midwest on the underground scene.” Though he and Tech had formed a bond, Stevie was contractually obligated to Ruthless and couldn’t sign to Strange. Still, he joined Tecca Nina on his K.O.D. tour in 2009, his Ruthless contract expired the next year and he ended up officially signing with Strange in March. Stone is currently on Tech’s 82-city All 6’s and 7’s tour as an opening act. In between shows, the new addition is prepping his Strange Music debut, Rolling Stone, for an early 2012 release. “It was a move that was in my heart. I knew it was the move to make, and I guess they felt the same way. And when the time presented itself, we inked,” said Stevie, holding up his Strange Music chain with pride.
