Black Excellence: ‘Awkward Black Girl’ Creator Issa Rae Gets HBO Pilot Order Of Her New Comedy

Issa Rae’s Comedy Series Picked Up By HBO After seemingly landing an ABC show “[I Hate L.A. Dudes”]co-written by Shonda Rhimes that was later passed up on, Issa Rae has some new exciting news to share. The “Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl” creator’s new comedy series “Insecure” has been picked up by HBO. Deadline reports: HBO is moving ahead with Insecure, giving a pilot order to the comedy project starring Issa Rae. Co-created and written by Rae and Larry Wilmore, Insecure focuses on the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern day African-American woman. These are also themes Rae has tackled in her successful webseries, The Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl, which won a Shorty Award. The project was originally set up at HBO in summer 2013. Wilmore now has a late-night talk show on Comedy Central, so the extent of his future involvement in Insecure is still being figured out, but he remains attached as an executive producer alongside Rae. 3 Arts is producing the project, with Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry serving as executive producers. Search is underway for a director and showrunner. Rae’s online content has garnered over 20 million views and nearly 200,000 YouTube subscribers. She has made a number of lists, including Glamour Magazine’s “35 Under 35″, Forbes’s “30 Under 30” (twice), Rolling Stone’s 23 Funniest people in America and People Magazine’s “One to Watch” list for 2015. ”Her book, “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl,” a collection of reminiscent essays, is being released next Tuesday, Feb. 10, via Simon & Schuster. Rae is repped by UTA, 3 Arts and Hansen, Jacobsen. Congrats to (someone we actually really, really like) Issa Rae!

Kelsey Grammer Hollas: Need No Prenup, Yeah!

Kelsey Grammer is ignoring the advice Kanye West offered all men in “Gold Digger.” Despite the fact that the actor might be on the hook for $50 million to ex-wife Camille, a friend tells Pop Eater he won’t force new fiancee Kayte Walsh to sign a prenuptial agreement. “Kelsey is deeply in love with Kayte and can’t imagine spending the rest of his life with any other woman in the world,” the source says . “He knows she’s the one and wouldn’t insult her by asking her to sign a pre-nup.” Perhaps Grammer really is in love after all. This insider certainly backs up the star’s claim of that being the case. “Kelsey doesn’t care about the money. He never has. This is about being happy. Finding someone who is your best friend. He doesn’t want to wait any longer.”

JWoww on Jersey Shore Season 3: Crazy Drama!

JWoww promises plenty of drama when Jersey Shore returns for Season 3 next week. We’re inclined to believe the fake-breasted, hot-headed star. Frequent sparring partner Angelina Pivarnick may be gone, but according JWoww (Jenni Farley), tears and tirades are still to come on the MTV hit. “There’s a whole lot of drama!” JWoww said, admitting that she is at the center of much of the action herself, thanks to her split with Tom Lippolis . BUSTIN’ OUT : JWoww is so ready to this season. “You will see that I go through a bad breakup, and I find new love,” Jenni says . “Everyone finally gets to see my side. I come out of my shell.” JWoww’s pissed off ex publicly accused her of cheating – and cheating her out of royalties – last summer, but the starlet is hardly heartbroken. Instead, she’s turning her misadventures in love into the third season of her hit show, along with a dating advice book to be released next year. At least she has Sammi Giancola to take out her frustrations on. Watch JWoww get into it with her roomie in the Jersey Shore Season 3 trailer !

Justin Long ‘Would Love To’ Star In ‘Die Hard 5’

‘I don’t know if I’m going to get my hands on it,’ he laughs about the Bruce Willis franchise. By Kara Warner Justin Long Photo: MTV News In addition to having some wacky moments, Bruce Willis dropped some exciting tidbits on MTV News at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con, revealing, for one, that “Die Hard 5” is “imminent.” When we caught up with his “Die Hard With a Vengeance” co-star Justin Long, we asked him how he might be involved in the imminent, as Willis described it, fifth installment of the misadventures of John McClane. Apparently, Long needed a quick vocabulary lesson before responding. “Nice try, Bruce, for making up a word. I think he meant emasculate,” Long joked while promoting his September 3 flick “Going the Distance.” “No, I heard it was imminent and as soon as I looked up the word, I got excited.” But Long said his excitement was unfortunately short-lived, his mood tempered somewhat by what he said was an awkward exchange with a film studio executive. “I had a meeting recently at Fox about doing a romantic [comedy],” Long explained. “And the guy in the office next door, he was in charge of the new ‘Die Hard,’ [so] I said, ‘Do you mind if I pop my head in?’ So I met him and I was like, ‘Ummm?’ ” the actor recalled, gesturing with his hands in a motion that suggested “what about me?” “He was equally vague in his gesture back to me,” Long said. “So I didn’t get a good feeling that I was going to be a part of the imminent ‘Die Hard.’ I don’t know if I’m going to get my hands on it.” He added, “I would love to.” With or without Long, it seems a decision about whether the film will actually happen is still up for debate. What do you think about Long’s character coming back for a fifth “Die Hard” movie? Tell us in the comments! Polanski-Loving Pol Attempts Lame "Sex with Boys" Defense

One of Roman Polanski ‘s supporters, French cultural minister Frédéric Mitterrand, admitted in 2005 to paying for sex with youthful “boys.” But now people are outraged, so he’s making a spectacular attempt to change his story. It’s not terribly convincing. In his 2005 autobiography, The Bad Life , Mitterrand writes of his misadventures in Thailand , where he gave into his desires and “got into the habit of paying for boys,” something he called an “abominable spectacle.” From his book: All the rituals of this market of youths, this slave market, excite me enormously.
