His long teased project has finally been unveiled. On the heels of  Slime Language , which was released last month, Thugger drops the aptly titled  On The RVN . The EP is only six tracks deep but does pack some interesting artist collaborations. As Rap-Up noted Jeffery links with Jaden Smith on the previously released “Sin”. On “High” he brings Sir Elton John to the fold with a sample of the icon’s “Rocket Man”. Originally announced in September 2017,  On The RVN is being billed as his “most vulnerable project to date”. This might ring true as the “Best Friend” rapper is currently facing some heavy prison time. Last fall during a traffic stop in Atlanta he was caught with a medley of drugs including hydrocodone, marijuana and codeine. Additionally police also found an unregistered firearm in the vehicle. Thug has since been charged with eight felony charges. He now awaits trial. You can listen to  On The RVN below. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Photo: WENN.com

LisaRaye McCoy: Talks Being Teased For Hairline, Rosa Parks, And More! [Video]

Everyone knows LisaRaye is a very passionate speaker: We really enjoyed the time we had with LisaRaye, and some of the things you hear about her are true. Yes, she showed up on time and was dressed in all white, she even had a wardrobe change and returned to set wearing…all white. Yes, she is very strong, extremely stunning in person and definitely has a presence that demands respect. However, it’s the things that aren’t talked about as often that come to mind when I think about her now. I see someone who was able to find her self-worth while being teased as a child and a woman who is strong enough to ask herself tough questions during the most vulnerable moments of her life. After our time together, we are very comfortable saying that LisaRaye is a rare individual who would be the same remarkable woman if the cameras of Hollywood never found her. youtube A Woman’s Journal

Rebecca Tarbotton Takes Over At Rainforest Action Network

Rainforest Action Network has a new Executive Director to help it take on some of the worst corporate polluters, Rebecca Tarbotton. RAN is a Bay Area-based advocacy group, started in 1985, that operates sort of like a pack of jackals–its campaigners jump on a target’s back and won’t get off until it submits. In the past few years RAN has taken on the big banks that are funding the coal industry, like JP Morgan and Chase, and it has worked to protect the world’s most vulnerable rainforests, like those in Indonesia that are home to endangered orangutans and tigers…. Americans get most radiation from medical scans

We fret about airport scanners, power lines, cell phones and even microwaves. It's true that we get too much radiation. But it's not from those sources — it's from too many medical tests. Americans get the most medical radiation in the world, even more than folks in other rich countries. The U.S. accounts for half of the most advanced procedures that use radiation, and the average American's dose has grown sixfold over the last couple of decades. Too much radiation raises the risk of cancer. That risk is growing because people in everyday situations are getting imaging tests far too often. Like the New Hampshire teen who was about to get a CT scan to check for kidney stones until a radiologist, Dr. Steven Birnbaum, discovered he'd already had 14 of these powerful X-rays for previous episodes. Adding up the total dose, “I was horrified” at the cancer risk it posed, Birnbaum said. After his own daughter, Molly, was given too many scans following a car accident, Birnbaum took action: He asked the two hospitals where he works to watch for any patients who had had 10 or more CT scans, or patients under 40 who had had five — clearly dangerous amounts. They found 50 people over a three-year period, including a young woman with 31 abdominal scans. When other radiologists tell him they've never found such a case, Birnbaum replies: “That tells me you haven't looked.” Of the many ways Americans are overtested and overtreated, imaging is one of the most common and insidious. CT scans — “super X-rays” that give fast, extremely detailed images — have soared in use over the last decade, often replacing tests that don't require radiation, such as ultrasound and MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging. Radiation is a hidden danger — you don't feel it when you get it, and any damage usually doesn't show up for years. Taken individually, tests that use radiation pose little risk. Over time, though, the dose accumulates. Doctors don't keep track of radiation given their patients — they order a test, not a dose. Except for mammograms, there are no federal rules on radiation dose. Children and young women, who are most vulnerable to radiation harm, sometimes get too much at busy imaging centers that don't adjust doses for each patient's size. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100614/ap_on_he_me/us_med_overtreated_radiation added by: MotherForTruth

Polluted Cities Like London Choke Pedal-Powered Residents With Dirty Nanoparticles

Photo by invisibleconsequential via flickr. Air quality is not something we tend to complain about – a rain shower or snow flurries can stop cyclists in their tracks, but gradually worsening air doesn’t make our daily talking points. Perhaps it should – we are a bit like frogs in the hot pot, not realizing the danger until we’re dead. A new UK study reported in the Times shows cyclists can be among the most vulnerable to dirty, particulate-rich city air, inhaling fiv… Read the full story on TreeHugger
