Kanye West on American Idol: Too Mainstream!

Now this would have made for some serious must-see TV. According to an Us Weekly insider, Kanye West was offered a seat at the American Idol judging table for next year, only to turn it down for the most ironic of reasons: “He didn’t want to go that mainstream ,” the source tells the tabloid “He didn’t want to lose any street cred.” In related news: Kanye will appear on Kris Jenner’s talk show this Friday. West, it seems, has been constantly wrestling with his role as the boyfriend of Kim Kardashian , someone who lives solely for media attention. He’s fought with the paparazzi, bristled over the release of North West photos and seems to not realize just who the heck he knocked up. American Idol , meanwhile, is reportedly set to go with a new judging panel of Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and some music executive named Lukasz Gottwald. Which raises the question: What does one call must- not -see TV?

Seems like every time we look up there is another negative story about a deadbeat black daddy , finally here’s a positive one instead! Ebony.com is showcasing an incredible documentary by music exec Kobie Brown that helps to reinforce some great examples of Fatherhood in our community. Check out the first part below, which features the entrepreneurs behind Miss Jessie’s. Here’s what producer Kobie Brown had to say about the project: “More often than not examples of high quality manhood, fatherhood and loving relationships are not illustrated, talked about or shown such that we can recognize them when we see them. K. Michelle Accuses Memphitz of Domestic Abuse on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta

The premiere of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta this week contained a pretty surprising accusation on the part of one cast member, singer K. Michelle. K. Michelle didn’t actually mention her alleged domestic abuser by name, but dropped enough hints that the Twitterverse was buzzing about who it was. Mickey “Memphitz” Wright. Memphitz is a music executive at Jive records and is also married to Lil’ Wayne’s ex-wife, Toya. He was also one of the hosts for BET’s show The Deal . That show also starred Nicki Minaj ’s DJ, Diamond Kutz. Anyway, K. Michelle said she was in a violent relationship with the man who signed her at Jive. Specifically, she said “beat her ass.” K. Michelle said he “blacked out” on her with physical abuse during their relationship, then blew her entire recording budget on toys and chains for himself. For her part, Toya, who is currently in Paris with Memphitz celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary, re-tweeted a comment in defense of Memphitz. She also calls K. Michelle a “hater.”

Tony Lucca Channels Britney Spears on The Voice

Cheesa’s Whitney Houston cover brought the house down, but Tony Lucca’s unorthodox song choice also served notice that he’s a contender on The Voice: “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears . Lucca, who was famously slammed by Christina Aguilera a few weeks back, came up with a terrific rebuttal against his fellow former Mousketeer. This rocking version of Brit’s breakout hit: Tony Lucca – Baby One More Time (The Voice) “That was really smart,” Blake Shelton said of the bold song pick, which got him through until at least tonight. His coach, Adam Levine, added, “You did something different and refreshing and I’m so proud of you for having the courage to do it.” Will America vote Tony through to the semifinals tonight? If not, do you think Adam (who cut Pip loose on last night’s instant elimination episode) will take his protege to the next round? Tell us below.

Bears Interrupt Pennsylvania Weather Report

A mama bear and three cubs interrupted a live newscast in Scranton, Pa., Monday, just as meteorologist Kurt Aaron went to deliver his forecast outside the studio. Tonight … partly cloudy with a 100 percent chance of cute/scary! Bears Interrupt Weather Report “I walked out there, and I turn around and I hear the sound … and the bear’s literally 10 feet away from me!” Aaron explained, once he got back in the studio. “And I ran like I stole something, I’m not gonna lie! That was a big bear,” he said of the cubs’ protective mother. “And she didn’t look very happy with me.” The crew stayed inside the studio, watching from the window. Eventually, a high-pitched alarm sounded, causing the bears to scurry away harmlessly.

Yolanda Hadid Confirmed as New Real Housewife of Beverly Hills

We hope Yolanda Hadid has been practicing her table-throwing and insult-hurling… because the Dutch model has officially been cast on The Real Housewives of New Jersey ! The fourth wife of music executive David Foster, Hadid takes over for Camille Grammar, who was forced off the show last month. She has already started shooting season three and has known co-star Lisa Vanderpump for years. “Yolanda is going to make an excellent addition to the cast and she can definitely hold her ground if the claws come out; she is no shrinking violet,” a Real Housewives insider tells Radar Online. Bravo has not yet announced a premiere date for season three, but insiders claim Taylor Armstrong and Kim Richards will both be phased out as filming goes on, with the former only receiving air time because she has a drinking problem . Lawyer for Alleged Tupac Shooting Mastermind Denies All Charges

Dexter Isaac made a major admission yesterday: referring to an incident in Manhattan in 1994, the inmate said he was hired to rob Tupac Shakur . Currently serving a life sentence for murder, Isaac also claimed music executive James Rosemond paid him $2,500 to carry out the deed. Now, Rosemond’s attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, is speaking out against the charges. “How anyone can take this animal’s word as true without any corroboration at all is frankly beyond me,” he told E! News. “[Isaac] is a guy who is a convicted psychotic killer, who is currently serving a life sentence without parole.” Lichtman says Isaac is conjuring up these allegations in a “desperate attempt to get out from under his sentence.” Tupac would have turned 40 years old today.
